We had a small wedding (about 75 guests) with a lot of young kids and babies. I could not be happier with Nawakwa as a wedding venue. The entire camp is gorgeous, as are the surrounding woods and mountains, and the ceremony site in particular was breathtaking - the photographer couldn't get enough pictures of everything. Even more important, the entire staff was tremendously kind, helpful, and friendly, from the manager Patrick ("Puzzle") to everyone who prepared our meals, ran the programs, and generally kept the camp running. Our guests couldn't say enough good things about the entire weekend. We live two hours away in Los Angeles so we weren't able to make frequent trips to Nawakwa before the wedding to see to things in person, but Patrick was extremely accommodating and communicative over phone and email so we were able to have everything in place even though we were planning at a distance. I absolutely recommend Nawakwa to anyone looking for a beautiful, rustic wedding venue that's also very family-friendly. (I'll add photos once they come back from the photographer.)

I had a sedan and rock punctured my transmission pan. Now my car is stuck in big bear for few days at a auto garage to replace pan. Unless u have at least 8" clearance i wouldnt drive to this camp, wish i knew as its a costly repair and car stuck on mountain. I can give feedback from the girls as there was alot of complaints but really just wanna warn others in sedans.

Pretty much everything that they won't be able to do with me. O.O I was surprised that my 6 yrs old loved it and none of my kids were excited of me picking them up. Lol. The owner, "Crazzy" Craig, was very pleasant and responsive to phone call. He would give me update for the first three days by phone if we called him. There were lots of paperwork in the beginning and we need to send $500 deposit for each kid, with remaining balance due on the day of. They only accept check or cash. All the counselors were friendly and sweet. The kids got option to prefer top or bottom of the bunk bed and they would be placed together with other kids that was about the same age as them.

The love and support that all staff show for each other as well as the campers is amazing, The age range of the staff ranges from 18 through 50+. The campers and staff receive three generous meals a day. The activities prepared for the campers are challenging and exciting. I think the best part of this camp is the focus on Jesus. And also there were no pillows or towels which I would think everywhere you would stay should have. The food was also not on the best side as the food didnt seem the freshest. As some cans of tomato sauce I saw in the kitchen was made in 2019 and the fact they also served pasta and tomato sauce with NO CHEESE but they also served us a good breakfast with eggs and pancakes. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). While they were gone to camp I had the opportunity of sending them a care package, writing them letters, sending them daily emails, and looking at pictures of them that are posted online during the trip. It felt really good to be able to go online and look at pictures of what my kids were doing during the day. When I picked them up and ask them how their trip went they were excited to say that they wanted to go again next year. They talked about all of the fun things that they did from swimming in the big pool with the waterslide, archery, canoeing, zip lining, walking ropes, camp fires , wrist rockets , playing games, dance contests, a dance party, a carnival and going to the lake. From the beginning to the end we had the best experience. The mansion has so much history, is perfect to accommodate multiple families with en suites, huge kitchen, many places to relax, and plenty to do. We had kids from ages 4 to 10. We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. Laura, the owner, does a fantastic job of welcoming you, walking you through the sometimes labyrinthine maze of rooms, and welcoming you to a piece of history. As we travelled during Covid19, the property felt safe, clean and secure and we had no concerns about our health or safety. Highly recommend for people hosting special gatherings, parties, family vacations or special events. Definitely worth it.
