They bought the property in February and opened recently. Still setting up some landscaping. I have reviewed this stay as a soft-open. Loved my room on the second floor of a standalone four-room cabin. Small, well designed, and well fitted. Every appliance is easy to use. There is a Roku remote control. I am the first person ever to stay in this room! Fun squirrels everywhere. It is built on a hillside with good steps and ramps. The entrance from the road had a steep slope that could be challenging in icy conditions. The owners are working on these issues: 1. The guest portal uses a web portal that did not always work well for me. Could not check in online from my iPhone; my VPN blocked it. I had to use a desktop browser. The portal then gave me the password for the keypad on my door but did not send me my room number. 2. There was not enough bandwidth to stream the Roku free movie that I tried to watch on the TV. 3. Unclear if the historic Mansion (from 1920) was open to guests. It was not clear to me where some attractions were, but the owners will provide signage.

The scenery is out of this world, the owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating, the grounds are immaculate, and everywhere is so comfortable/clean. It is a quick drive into town for shopping or activities if you come up for vacation. Plenty of air bnbs in the area as well for overflow guests. From the moment we booked, Frankie (the owner) was an absolute dream to work with. She was incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Her responsiveness and genuine care made the planning process enjoyable and stress-free, and it truly felt like she wanted our weekend to be as special as we did. The property itself is stunning and offered everything we could have hoped for and more. Our family and guests who stayed on-site loved the peaceful setting, beautiful scenery, and the many cozy gathering spots throughout the ranch. We hosted both our welcome party and wedding here, and each space brought its own charm and plenty of seating, and gorgeous nature views. If you're looking for a venue that feels warm, personal, full of character, and great staff who truly care, look no further. Shay Meadows Ranch will always hold such a special place in our hearts!

It feels as though a chic, mid-century modern salon collided beautifully with a high-toned, rustic American West outpost. The architecture honors the soaring terrain of Big Bear, using clean, geometric lines that trace the slope of the mountains, while the interior hums with a quiet, bespoke luxury. Smooth, high-end finishes--polished walnut and rich leathers--marry flawlessly with the coarse honesty of native stone. The crown jewel of this alpine sanctuary is its sublime wellness experience, an immaculate haven for the body and spirit. Here, the contrast therapy is poetic magic. You can purge the high-altitude chill in the deep, enveloping heat of the saunas, or melt into the bubbling, starry embrace of the outdoor hot tub. For the ultimate awakening, the shock of the pristine cold plunge cuts through fatigue like mountain air, shocking the senses into absolute, vibrant life. Steps away, the sparkling pool acts as a gateway to the elements. For those who hear the siren call of open water, the seamless transition from resort luxury to an open swim across the vast, pristine lake is utterly liberating. Through it all, the views are a visual symphony--the lake stretching out like hammered silver, cradled by a dark fortress of pines. The staff embodies the very spirit of the altitude: completely chill, attentive, and entirely devoid of pretension. From the crackle of the lakeside fire pits to the curated aesthetics, the vibes are flawless, offering an elevated, restorative sanctuary in the sky.

Our cabin and our friends cabin we're both up against the cabin housekeeping must do laundry and the front porch had bags of garbage stacked on the front porch up into the ceiling so we felt like we were living in a garbage dump. There were no towels by the pool despite requesting twice. This didn't just happen one day this happened all three days that we were there. The cushions on the pool seats were disgusting and they felt too dirty to sit on. Housekeeping was sparse and as of this writing at 4:30, I had to request, they still make up the room. Tonight they're hosting a holiday event and as hotel guests, we will not have access to the restaurant or facilities unless we pay an additional $280. This is an overpriced motel six with very kind staff.

We loved the nature hike we had "Jelly" (a couple of our groups got rained out-obviously to no fault of the camp), we enjoyed archery, paint ball sling shots with "Stitch", painting wood necklaces, drama circle, and an amphitheater with breathtaking views of the the sunset. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. I also wish our group had the entire cafeteria to ourselves as we often were low on space at tables and often went outside as our designated seating was full. But the food was served on time and they got a lot of people food in timely fashion. They were organized. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!
