We stayed at Edgewood Mansion for my 40th birthday during New Years Eve. My husband planned the trip to include my closest girlfriends and their families. From the beginning to the end we had the best experience. The mansion has so much history, is perfect to accommodate multiple families with en suites, huge kitchen, many places to relax, and plenty to do. We had kids from ages 4 to 10. We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. An absolutely fantastic experience for a vacation. Then property, the house, the eclectic, timeless, sometimes bizarre, sometimes awe inspiring and generally non-stop entertainment made this rental one of the best. Laura, the owner, does a fantastic job of welcoming you, walking you through the sometimes labyrinthine maze of rooms, and welcoming you to a piece of history. As we travelled during Covid19, the property felt safe, clean and secure and we had no concerns about our health or safety. Highly recommend for people hosting special gatherings, parties, family vacations or special events. Definitely worth it. read more

Planning a wedding or an event? Want to have an amazing location with beautiful grounds? After you say your "I do's" do you want a nice quiet cocktail party with dinner and drinks? If so this is the perfect place for you. Planning a wedding or event and you want to have a party with a DJ or band following your ceremony than this is DEFINITELY NOT the place for you! Not stated in their contract is that the noise volume has to be below 80 decimals. 80 decimals! Stand in your living room with the TV on and you've about maxed out on the volume you can reach. When do they decide to tell you that you can't play music past 80 decimals? During your party, while you're asking for everything to be turned up! I've been doing events for over 10 years and always cringe when I have to set up speakers near tables for it's not fair that they have to be so close to the speakers. Well, at Edgewood Mansion have no fear as your guests won't complain at all about the music being too loud, but rather too low. Yes, what's written has been true you do have to do a lot of the heavy lifting yourself and supervise what goes where if you want it done right. How's the staff? Well Don is amazing, however you don't have too much contact if at all with him. Laura, who is one of the owners is firm but nice. She's certainly on edge throughout the duration of the event. Matt, the other owner who I hope you have little contact with is simply an a**hole. DO NOT bother trying to have a conversation with him if you have an opposing view as he WILL threaten to kick you off his property. Again, beautiful home and grounds for a nice quiet affair. Horrible if you want to have a celebration with music after your ceremony. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would they destroyed my dream wedding the place is gorgeous. It was a dream come true for pictures, I was so excited I had people traveling that we're going to stay there all of us could not stop talking about how beautiful the wedding was going to be all of my decorations my flowers make cake my tables and chairs everything was paid for including the Mansion for 2 days. Everything was matching the Mansion including my dress which was very expensive. I could not believe that a week before my wedding they sent me a contract it should have given me before I paid off the mansion Or even when I came and signed papers saying to reserve it for my wedding both the owner laura and grey squirrels management Lisa knew I was going to get married there. In this contract a week before my wedding they said my guest would have to find parking somewhere else in Big Bear and find a way up and that the parking lot down the street was not available also that I was not allowed to have music of any kind unless it was an acoustic guitar, if I was caught with anyone in the house other than the people that were supposed to be staying there I would be evicted if I was caught with more than 50 people on the property my event would be cancelled and I would be thrown out with no refund. Of course I was devastated I cried the entire day when I asked for clarification about the contract I had to call back because they would not get back to me so I found out a few days before my wedding about the music, I can't believe they did this to me it destroyed my dream wedding everywhere I tried to find was already booked after this I ended up having the wedding in my home which destroyed my dress because I have an acre of land in my dress was not for dirt lot and dried grass it was for a beautiful stone walkway green grass mansion I was exhausted for trying to get my house prepared for the wedding 3 days before. read more

I was here for a wedding, what a great location. They have done a great job making this facility really event friendly. Nice outdoor wedding area and a very nice converted tennis court outdoor dining and dancing venue. Parking is difficult around the house but the shuttle was convenient I would also add a few pathway lights as the walk from the court to the exit is dark at night. read more

Julie Ferneau Photography (my photography business) has shot at the Edgewood Mansion 5 times and have had the most amazing time at all of the weddings! The grounds are lush and green which are manicured beautifully - creating amazing backdrops in our images. The inside of the property is kept up well, very clean, spacious and accommodating. The rooms are huge, perfect for guests of the Bride and Groom to be able to enjoy the entire wedding weekend together. The staff is friendly and attentive. Laura (owner) is a joy to work with - always smiling. Everything we could ask for when working with a vendor. We can't wait to be back and shoot more weddings and events! As a photographer/artist, I was truly excited when I found out I would be working as a vendor at this amazing location. This place has some of the most beautiful spots to photograph your wedding party. The location provides breathtaking landscapes and including waterfall, bridges, huge fountain, giant rock formations, a forest of pine trees and gorgeous architecture just to name a few. You can't help being happy and excited to be photographing at this location. I must mention the food. The caterer was incredible. I usually get fed at the venues. However, It is rare to get the same meal that the guest eat. Usually it's a piece of chicken, pizza or a sandwich. Not here! I enjoyed one of the best ribeye steak dinners ever. Made perfect. hats of to the chef! Mat & Laura and there team were very friendly and helpful. They even loaded all my lighting gear on there golf cart and drove it down to the reception area for me so I wouldn't have to make 2 trips. Don who is one of the grounds keepers even assisted me in setting up my gear. That was very much appreciated! I look forward to photographing another wedding here. My Husband and I went to a wedding there it was the most beautiful property we have ever seen for a wedding. It was picture perfect. There are waterfalls, trees, and beautiful walkway around the property. It was nicely setup. Everyone there was very professional and kind. If you needed something they were on it right. The house was just as amazing as the property. Very larger plenty of rooms. The kitchen is amazing!! My husband and I loved it so much we are planning our next trip out there. We stayed here recently with 8 other families and had a fabulous time. The grounds provided sled runs and snowy paths to explore for the 17 kids (ages 3-15). The tavern room with pool, ping pong and foosball, were an excellent place to watch the New Years Countdown for the adults and kids in our party. The sauna, gym and jacuzzi were the perfect way to unwind. The spaciousness of the the grounds, and the mansion itself, provided plenty of room for privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The stay was made even more relaxed by a concierge that ensured that 3 different catered dinners were delicious, prompt and bountiful. Additionally, upon arrival crew were on hand to move furniture as needed to accommodate our large party and the necessary sleeping arrangements. No complaints and look forward to another stay where we can take advantage of the Mansion in spring or summer. read more

I have called several times for three weeks and they never returned my phone calls and they never replied back to any of my emails in regards to making an appointment to take a tour of the mansion before I put in my security deposit. I am on a time limit because I'm trying to plan for a wedding but I just kept getting the run around saying that they will give me a call that same day or they will give me a call in 48 hours and still nothing every week.
