This place is so beautiful and quiet, I emphasize quiet because there's like 45 dogs outside in the fields and you don't hear a peep. They handle the dogs so well, they're very positive but also don't let the dogs get away with bad behavior which allows them to have dogs out all together. We currently send our senior dog who is almost 17 years old to daycare once a week and we board her if needed, knowing that she's in the best hands. Also, our labradoodle went there twice a week from the time he was 4 months, until he was almost 11, unfortunately he passed away from cancer...but the staff was so caring and watchful of him always, but especially and in a different way in the past couple weeks of his life. We have been bringing our dog here for 2 ish years, once a week. We have also done boarding many times. The staff really care about the dogs and it shows. Our dog is crazy and has a lot of issues (mini Aussie....) and they have given us tips to work with him. The hours of drop off/pick up are flexible as well, which is nice. There was a time period where they asked us to stop bringing him for a few months because he was barking so much and had other behavioral issues. We did, then came back a few months later and he hasn't had any issues since - that was a year ago. While frustrating for us, we appreciated them taking our dog back into daycare and giving him another chance. read more

Let me first start by saying I rarely leave a negative review. Look at my Yelp profile. This wasn't a "Camp Good Puppy" experience at all for our dog. It was more like a "Camp Bad Puppy" experience. The staff here doesn't care about your dog or your dog's health. Three weeks ago we took him here for a trial and things went well. We were excited because we found a place we thought we could trust while on vacation. When we picked him up last Friday, he was immediately limping and scared. No explanation other than "he got sap today on his foot and we tried to get it off." He also had a terrible ear infection he was clearly scratching. Definitely shocked and concerned, I gave the benefit of the doubt by calling the owner. The explanation? "I guess he has an ear infection." And they didn't give him his flea and heart worm medication either like they promised. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of concern and communication. Cierra, the woman who brought him to us, didn't seem concerned in the least bit and left us on our way. They never called or emailed us to let us know he was having issues. We were freaking out. Imagine picking up your dog and the first thing you see is him scared and limping. What we noticed immediately was swelling and mucus on his ear. And his right front and right back paws had swollen toes and were balding. We called emergency vets to get him in. This happed on 5pm on a Friday. We set something up and were driving we call to talk to the owner, Wendy. We let her know what's going on and she immediately gets defensive. "I don't know what you're talking about...he had such a fun time with us." No acknowledgement, no concern, no apology. Nothing. In a 13 minute conversation, I maybe talked 2 minutes. It was like she didn't even care that we were about to wait six hours to get him into the vet or any concern for our dog. She was more concerned with defending herself and saying he had a good time. They didn't offer to help us find a vet, or offer an apology of any sort. Again, the major issue is the LACK of communication. They never told us he was having issues. And they didn't give him his flea or tick medication like they said they would either. And didn't communicate it. I highly recommend avoiding this place. The staff and the owner does not care about your dog. And if something comes up, they won't take ownership or communicate with you. This end up costing us close to a $500 vet bill. They didn't refund us any of the amount we paid them for boarding and none of the vet bill either. read more

TLDR: Camp Good Puppy actively ignores the health concerns of dogs in their care. I do NOT recommend this business. My dog came home limping with an injury that camp did not inform me of. I sent an email, and their response late the next day was to say that they "forgot" to tell me, and that they "didn't think he was injured" (even though they saw him jump off the trampoline and limp away, saying that their dogs "do the same thing"). I am now dollars shy of $2,000 in vet bills, including a surgery to correct my dog's grade three medial luxating patella injury. Camp still hasn't responded to this in any capacity (and they've had more than a week to respond). While accidents happen, those who work for Camp Good Puppy are negligent, and this is not the first time that they have neglected to respond or react to my dog's health concerns. As other reviews have said, don't bring your dog here if you love them. read more

This place is really sweet. Our dog has gone there several times for long periods (a week) and comes home happy as can be and very tired. When we get there, she drags me to the gate, and they have such a great routine that she arrives and runs right in as if it is her home. They let the dogs play on the acreage, then take them in for rests. Our dog is a bit....enthusiastic, and they put her with dogs that appreciate her enthusiasm. They supervise closely so that, if something should happen, they can intervene immediately. I know these are dogs, and things happen, but we have never had a serious problem. They are happy to administer meds if needed and keep an eye on food to make sure they are eating. They suggested I bring some canned food next time to encourage her to eat...excellent idea. They keep information very organized and easy to access. They don't ever let me leave without having all needed information at hand. The first time we took her there I came to pick her up and, as I was getting her, a guy with a hose walked by and said, "Goodbye, April!!" In a single day, everyone there learned her name. That single thing told me that they really care about the dogs. Now I said April's name and they know who I am. Anyway, I highly recommend boarding here. The cost is comparable to leaving your dog in a cage at the vet, but the care is beyond excellent. They also do daycare, so if you are curious, take your dog there for the day and see how great it really is. read more

Our Aussie loves this place. We do daycare once a week and board occasionally. I've recommended to every Aussie owner I come across that lives in town. my Aussie owner friends have also jumped on board and agree - camp good puppy is the best you can get for an Aussie. They run around on 5 acres with their friends and come home exhausted. Human side is a bit flawed - communication can be sometimes imperfect and occasionally frustrating, but really it's small compared to how happy my dog is here. They are really good people and very professional. Tip: They have a system in place that works well for good reason. Be super clear about your routine, ask questions, and be ready to be flexible. read more

We boarded our dog for 4 days here. We had to do 2 interviews with them 1 was initial 15 min interview to see how he behaved. The second interview was for him to stay 1 day at daycare. Which was a charge $35. Not a big deal. We were actually thinking about finding a daycare for him to go to a couple days a week. They excepted him and he stayed 4 nights. He was there from Thursday through Sunday. They have strict hours on when you can drop off and pick up. No exceptions. Which is not convient when you are traveling. Sundays they only let them be pick up from 5-6 pm. When I received my email/invoice on Sunday (before I had picked him up) there was a $30 late pick up charge on there. I called to ask what this was about. They said it's a charge that we give because you are not picking him up until 5pm. I asked well isn't that the only time I can pick him up? She replied "yes we only have pick up on Sundays from 5-6 pm on Sundays. No earlier or later because that is our family time". So they charge you an extra$30 fee on Sundays because they are the ones that cause the late pick up! Unfortunately we will not be back. Expensive to board your dog and strict times on pick up and drop off and too many extra fees (late pick up/ interview fees). Bummer they didn't work out and I would not recommend them! read more

The facilities and staff at Camp Good Puppy are excellent. They carefully review your questionnaire regarding your dogs temperment, what they eat, what socialization they have had etc. Then they take the dogs for a trial walk around and after that then a trial day care day before they will accept them for day care or boarding. I truly appreciate that extra care and concern. Unfortunately, the first full day of day care, my girl puppy scaled a high wooden fence and went after a chicken. One of the camp staff got to her after just a few pulled feathers from the chicken, but that is a big no-no and I understand why she can't go back. I wish I could continue to take her there as she had a great time and was worn out (in a good way) with all the excercise, play time and socialization. I highly recommend Camp Good Puppy to anyone who has dogs in their life and wants to be assured that they are well taken care of. read more

We boarded our two small dogs there for four nights. Prior to this, we had to do an interview and a [not free] "trial" day of daycare before they would agree to boarding our dogs. Some of their staff lacked basic customer service skills, but I attribute that mainly to their youth/lack of life experience. Regardless, the dogs did fine. They seemed well-treated and relatively happy when we picked them up after our vacation. Most of the other kennels in the area give a fairly substantial discount if you board more than one dog in the same kennel. Camp Good Puppy doesn't do that, so the final bill was pretty spendy ($260 for four days, not counting the "trial" day of daycare), but the peace of mind of leaving the dogs in capable hands made it worth it. read more

Absolutely horrible! They underfed my dog by a cup a day because anything over 1.5 cups twice a day is against their policy. My pup was there 10 days and with all the added activity lost a shocking amount of weight. He came home with a "heat spot" which the staff "sees occasionally" on the other dogs. After taking him to the vet yesterday we find out its most likely ring worm!! Wendy (the owner) still hasn't called me back about this, she was supposed to five days ago, I have called her 3 times and each time her employees tell me "oh she actually just stepped inside!" Personally I wouldn't trust them with a pet rock.... read more

We have been bringing our Border Collie, Scotty, to CGP for almost 7 years now. The staff is amazing and they really work with your dog while you are away. Scotty has never once come home with a bad habit! It's a great environment for high-energy dogs, with several big fields for your dog to run and play in. The indoor space is also really nice for some down time. Scotty always comes home happy, loved and exhausted from all his playtime. He can be a difficult dog sometimes (border collie!), but they took the time to figure out what works best for him. Deborah has a great staff and they really care about your dog! I never have any concerns that Scotty won't be well loved and having a blast with all the other dogs. I can't reccomend CGP highly enough. They are wonderful people with great facilities! read more

We took in a healthy dog and brought him home with kennel cough. The owner is very rude, but the staff is caring. I thought this would be a great place for a dog to be able to run and have fun with other dogs and get all of her energy out however we ended up having a couple of issues. We took our dog there several times after going there a couple weeks the first injury was a toenail that got ripped out. That time they were kind enough to let us know so we could get her to the vet and get it handled. The final straw was when we picked her up and she was exhausted, she had a slight limp and they just said she played hard and nobody mentioned anything else that went wrong. After getting home and seeing her still limping around I called to ask if anyone had more information about what could've caused it because it wasn't getting any better. I was told that no one saw anything that had gone wrong and that she probably just pulled a little muscle and would walk it off. The next day she woke up with her paw swollen as big as a tennis ball. Upon taking her to the vet she had two broken toes. Needless to say after several hundred dollars in vet bills as well as eight excruciating weeks of her being in a splint and unable to be active she is now back to normal. When I called and spoke to the owner and let her know what had happened all I got was we're sorry to hear that. I would caution people that bring their dogs here to know that their dogs are left to roam out there in the field with holes, wood other dogs and other objects that can do harm when they are not being closely supervised. I prefer to have some place that can tell me if something happens to my dog what the heck happened. They didn't seem to care that they had no clue and didn't inform me upon pick up or that it even happened at all. Overall it was just very disappointing experience since I had high hopes for this place. read more

I was excited about this place for my dog. It is located on 5 acres with supposedly lots of room to run around and socialize. That is what is advertised, That isn't the truth though. The animals do not have run of the 5 acres. The person checking in my dog seemed to be caring and attentive when I was dropping off my dog. It's what happens during the hours that no one is allowed to see your animal you have to be concerned about. Every place I have taken my animal to you can pick your animal up at any time and have access to them at any time during business hours and many are willing to help you out, if for some reason special arrangements need to be made. This place will only let you access your animal during a couple hours in the morning and a couple in the evening, that is so the employees can do other things besides take care of the animals during that time. It isn't because it disrupts the animals. The place is under staffed and some do not know what they are doing. I found this out after picking up my dog. My dog was not the same after having stayed there. He had lost lots of weight and he now is also afraid of people. He use to be a happy healthy dog until staying there. I will never take any animal there again. You know the saying, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it is." That was the case with this place. read more
