We were pleasantly surprised by a gem of an RV park. The staff was friendly and led us to our site even though it was heavily raining. The cookies provided at check in were an even better surprise. This is a place we will return to in the future for a get away. They have the cleanest bathrooms and showers that I have ever seen. I was really impressed at how the grounds were well taken care of.

These waters make you wonder whether some prehistoric creature will launch out of the waters at you if you get too close. Yet, you'll see kayakers padding all about these waters. Located in Twin City, Georgia, is a serene retreat spanning 1,634 acres with a 412-acre mill pond surrounded by cypress and tupelo trees draped in Spanish moss, creating a picturesque and tranquil environment. The park's centerpiece is the historic Parrish Mill, a combination gristmill, sawmill, covered bridge, and dam built in 1880. The mill, restored in 1998, occasionally operates and can grind up to 200 pounds of corn per hour, offering visitors a glimpse into its rich history. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of activities, including fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking. The park offers 11 miles of trails for hikers, runners, and cyclists, as well as opportunities to spot wildlife like gopher tortoises, blue herons, and white ibis. Every time I come back, I forget how much I like it here. The thing that stands out the most is how…read morefriendly everyone is here. The staff, the owners, the residents. It's like you have known them forever. Once I mentioned I hadn't ate yet, and a resident came over with a tray of enchiladas. Someone gave me a handmade Hideaway figurine. My own family isn't this nice to me! You come here not knowing anyone, next thing you know, you're on the back of a golf cart in an RV crawl. Just wonderful guys- all of them. The friendliness is everywhere. I have not met one pretentious person in all the times I've gone. Everybody interacts with everybody. Not only that but the drive there is gorgeous. I particularly recommend RT 121. Green fields, pine trees, hardly any other cars. Just keep your eye on your speed ; ) There's something in every budget for accommodations. Access is tightly controlled so recommend having everything you need on coming in. It's to keep the riff-raff out, (but yet here I am?). You can still come in and out, but most people stay on property. I've left my stuff out many times and never give it a thought. Nobody is here that shouldn't be (they keep letting me come back?). It's easier getting everything settled online before arrival, including signing the online waiver, and booking your cabin, or camping space. There is a nominal $15/yr fee as well. The cabin's have a one time cleaning fee per stay. Even with the fees and the paperwork, the price is still reasonable. Knowing this up front made more sense. They do a lot of pot-lucks- bring something nice, they love that stuff. A lot of these guys can cook. ("Who made this and is he single?") They also have a take-out cafe by the pool. They usually have specials and everything I have ordered has been top notch. Keep an eye on the cafe hours, the cook wears a lot of hats on the grounds, so plan accordingly. They open and close a few times a day. They do not sell alcohol. It's BYOB, everyone often just contributes to someone's cooler. It's the perfect mix of quiet and serene and get out on the dancefloor when the sun goes down. As a staple of the larger campgrounds, I found that the Hideaway more than makes up for being toned down by the attributes I've mentioned. It doesn't hit you immediately your first time; just about the time you start thinking that it's scaled down, you realize that's the point, and that its just as much of a blast as the loud crazy campgrounds, if not better. It's not the size of the crowd or the volume of the music that makes a great weekend, it's who is invited to the party. And in all the times I have been here, even when the weather didn't want to cooperate, The Hideaway hits the mark every single time. An absolutely wonderful bunch of people. I give The Hideaway an enthusiastic FIVE STARS!

This is a neat, clean and well-managed small campground just off US 301. It's 8.5 miles from I-16…read more The office to check in is in the motel next door and it could be quite a walk if done in the dark or in bad weather. Internal roads are paved and sites are grass. Transient sites are all long pull-thrus, very level, and separated by low hedges. Hookups are in the middle. Water pressure was a little weak. Wifi required a code given during check-in and was ok enough to check email but still slow. No off-leash dog park but there's plenty of areas to walk the dogs in the perimeter of the park. Grass, trees, bushes all looked neatly trimmed. The park has some long term residents parked mostly in the back rows but they keep their sites neat with very little "stuff" outside or spread out so it didn't feel like you're in a trailer park. The front row of the park is for RV storage and those looked very neat as well. The road noise from US301 diminished after 9:30pm so we had a good night's sleep. We were just there for an overnight but would gladly stop there again.
