We learned later that with the words "gratinated," it makes it a more authentic version with the cheese and bread atop of the soup versus just having onion soup. Beef tartare: There was a generous portion of the beef tartare. It was fresh in a way. It sort of looked like a pile of raw beef which technically it was. The only negative thing is that they don't have milk alternatives like almond milk or soy milk, but when in Europe, we don't get too picky because we know their dairy is much better quality anyway. It was wonderful to get to meet the owners Sarah and Nico this time as well, and they were incredibly welcoming and friendly when I decided to go up to them and introduce myself. The staff here seem to be really interested in people's places of origin...they were surprised I was Filipino American and asked me to teach them some Tagalog words. If you're in Paris on vacation, this is far from a destination spot. But if you're just tired as hell, it's a welcome sight.
