Confirming the infection, she scheduled me for an apicoectomy. She said the root canal done by my family Dentist was very well done, and not the cause. I had the procedure on July 14. My biggest fear was possibly losing the tooth, as damage to the canal itself doesn't show on xrays. Ive had cleanings that were more painful! Dr. Kilislian is fantastic!! Very thorough explanation of the entire procedure before beginning, and before each step done. Continually asking if I was doing OK. A firm but gentle touch. I was so relieved when she said the tooth could be saved. The procedure, beginning with numbing the area before the freezing, to the final sutures took less than an hour. The post operative instructions are clear, and easy to understand. You are in very, very very good hands at Kawartha Endodontics. 100% recommend!!

Given that she's very afraid of going to the doctor, I expected that things would be extremely difficult for a trip to the dentist. However, thanks to the friendly staff, a "treasure chest" of goodies at the door (for good girls only of course), and the chair-side manor (very friendly and open demeanor) of Dr. Crawford, my daughter got through a cleaning like a champ. No tears and just a little patience getting her in the chair was all it took. Very happy first experience at this dentist. We're still amazed in fact!

It was through Dr. Cole that I found out my old dentist was not taking care of my teeth (he not only showed me pictures - it was obvious even to the untrained eye - but I warned my Mom, who used the same bad dentist, and another dentist said she had the same problems with her teeth; this is a genuine criticism, not him trying to drum up business). He not only fixed my teeth, but was gentle with the violation I felt from the discovery of my old dentist's lack of care. He helped me with the extreme costs that I was now going to incur and found a balance between fixing as much as possible at once versus giving my jaw a rest from so much work. He also prescribed a (over-the-counter) treatment to prevent the migraines I was getting from having my jaw open and the spotlights; I still follow his advice before treatments with my new dentist. Honestly, if I hadn't moved out of town, I never would have left! I have a false tooth in my front and he matched it so perfectly to my natural teeth when he replaced it. He has the best eye I have ever seen. I joke with my friends that, next time I need my fake tooth maintained, I am travelling out to see him. I appreciate their attention to the office presentation, their standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I enjoy the modern atmosphere and that the staff hold themselves in the same manner. While sitting in the lounger, Dr. Bunt could be making jokes, catching me up with the Bunts, with Carrie & her family (& new fur baby!) feeling as comfortable as anyone can be at the dentist. For every visit, Jenny instantly recognizes me and enthusiastically greets me by name as soon as I walk in the door, immediately making me feel welcome and at ease. Within minutes, the office manager Noelle is out to greet me as well, and we catch up on anything that's new since my last visit. Depending on how busy it is, Noelle will escort me back to the dental chair herself or Dr. Bunt or Carrie will come and greet me with a welcoming smile and bring me back themselves. I also love seeing Jenni who is an absolute sweetheart. When I'm in the chair, Dr. Bunt and Carrie get to work fixing whatever needs fixing, making me feel comfortable and at ease the whole time. Gord's meticulous attention to detail, and his strive for perfection, never gives me cause to question his professional opinions, to the point where I've told him that he doesn't need to explain or justify what should be done, or what needs to be done. Also, due to my busy and often inconsistent work schedule, they even went of their way to accommodate off-hours dental emergencies I've had. I worry when it comes time to being posted, I worry that I will never be able to receive the exceptional level of care that I am currently accustomed to! This is the best dental experience I've had so far. After 2 years of no dentist (pandemic + move to…read morea new city) I went in for two different appointments in one week. I got a full suite of xrays, exam, and a dental cleaning plus one filling. The whole clinic is bright and cheerful. On both visits the staff knew my name right away, and the wait time was basically non-existent. The xrays were high-tech (even the bitewings were comfortable), both the cleaning and filling were painless, and every dentist/hygienist/staff person I talked to was exactly the right mix of friendly and professional. Due to lots of tartar, the cleaning took longer than I'd booked for it, but they rescheduled the remainder for the same day and then booked me in for the filling only two days later. The xrays + exam + cleaning totalled just over $700, and the filling was just over $200. (My insurance covered most of these expenses, but anyone uninsured may want to call ahead of time to confirm the pricing before booking.) There was no "upselling" or pressure to get extra services I didn't need. All around, this is a wonderful clinic, and I'm looking forward to going back in a year.
