What they neglect to mention is that it was one of the coldest days of the year, and the patients were not allowed inside. They had to wait outside in extreme cold weather. Most of them, like many of the people who live in Prince Edward County, were elderly. My own experience on that day - I have been looking for a dentist and Picton Dental Centre was under consideration. So I was thinking of going over there to get a free filling and check it out for ongoing treatment, as there was no mention in all their advertising of doing this only for people in need. So I thought it was a Christmas thing where they were doing an act of goodwill. You did not find out that it was only for people in need until you got there and I wonder if some were turned away for that reason. Lucky I checked the weather and decided a polar bear couldn't survive the temp and frosty winds. However, before that I called for info, only to be told by a harassed and unfriendly admin. that I should just go look at the website if I wanted info, she was too busy. She did say to show up very early and to dress warmly I would have to wait outside in the cold. Considering that was minus 20 or even colder, that was a no go right there. I found out later that a few people simply could not tolerate the cold, and after waiting for hours and freezing, with no sympathy or help from the dental office, they left without being treated. It seems a bit arrogant to me to tell poor people you are going to help them, then make them wait in extreme cold weather for hours while the dentists were in a nice warm building. That kind of uncaring attitude caused me to cross this place off my list of potential dentists.

I appreciate their attention to the office presentation, their standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I enjoy the modern atmosphere and that the staff hold themselves in the same manner. While sitting in the lounger, Dr. Bunt could be making jokes, catching me up with the Bunts, with Carrie & her family (& new fur baby!) feeling as comfortable as anyone can be at the dentist. For every visit, Jenny instantly recognizes me and enthusiastically greets me by name as soon as I walk in the door, immediately making me feel welcome and at ease. Within minutes, the office manager Noelle is out to greet me as well, and we catch up on anything that's new since my last visit. Depending on how busy it is, Noelle will escort me back to the dental chair herself or Dr. Bunt or Carrie will come and greet me with a welcoming smile and bring me back themselves. I also love seeing Jenni who is an absolute sweetheart. When I'm in the chair, Dr. Bunt and Carrie get to work fixing whatever needs fixing, making me feel comfortable and at ease the whole time. Gord's meticulous attention to detail, and his strive for perfection, never gives me cause to question his professional opinions, to the point where I've told him that he doesn't need to explain or justify what should be done, or what needs to be done. Also, due to my busy and often inconsistent work schedule, they even went of their way to accommodate off-hours dental emergencies I've had. I worry when it comes time to being posted, I worry that I will never be able to receive the exceptional level of care that I am currently accustomed to! I can honestly say that Dr. Bunt & his wonderful staff are the only people in this business of dentistry that I've felt such a comfortable & sense of ease within the dental field since living in Ontario these past 23 years. I was afraid of dentist for years, as a child I developed oral ulcers that doctors from around North America and even Europe and Asia are stumped by, which made dentist visits painful. The second last dentist I went to caused such a negative experience that it was 10+ years before I saw a dentist again, and it was a dentist here. It started a couple of years ago when my daughter was 4, I came here on the recommendation of a friend, and met Dr. Mansoor. She, and the staff, made her comfortable, took their time with her and have been amazing. She helped spot a few issues and made several recommendations. Dr. Mansoor restored my faith in dentists!! Thank you ma'am!! I'll always be in your debt for that. I then decided watching how great care they took of my daughter it was my time to see a dentist. The team did the same thing. Now I had a different dentist as Dr. Mansoor specializes with children and youth. They took their time with me because sure enough I had an ulcer in my mouth. Unlike any other dentist though, they kept freezing it, and instead of rushing me through to keep to an appointment schedule they took their time to make sure I was comfortable. This was the most dedication and care I have ever received to ensure I was comfortable.
