Even though this station is literally at the edge of the city, it is still a pretty major station. I guess it is because pretty much all of the trains stop here, though after Campbelltown there is only one other station. However, this actually includes the XPT that heads to Melbourne and Canberra and is also the terminus for the Southern Highlands service. The station is quite close to the main shopping area, and also has quite a few buses that stop here as well. Oh, and they still have the old building here as well. read more

My paternal grandfather was a train station master Everytime I'm down at the station I have a melancholy feeling because I have memories of him back home. The train station is always clean with a lot of passengers going into the city to work. I have been catching the train for decades since I was 17 years old. In winter I would sit in those old trains freezing cold. Now you get the Tangara trains which is fast & convenient. read more
