Parking is $7 which I'm happy to pay to support the staff and facilities maintained at this beautiful location. We followed the hike towards the Chalet Érablière, such a pretty and well marked meander up the mountain toward the pretty little wood cabin which you can rent affordably, lug your stuff in and feel at peace in the woods far from everything. We explored a bit more and then went back down and over to the other side to the spectacular gorge and falls and rapids tucked surprisingly here on the edge of Mont Tremblant national park. There are a small number of lovely campsites along the water, and educational signs about the local fauna. This space also hosts cool interactive community events like night snowshoes which we can't wait to participate in when our kiddo is a bit older.

I write this review solely to share what I learned about it from my experience to bring attention to this not-yet-well-known campground that deserves to be shared because it is incredible! And I can fairly give it 4 stars because even if, for whatever reason, it cost 50$ a night to stay here: it's worth it. Location: Even despite Mtl's insane construction cluster f*ck of a highway nightmare it was still fairly easy to get to n from. A beautiful drive into the mountains just south of Mont Tremblant, fairly close to a kyoot lil town with anything you could need (Gas station, a market with an SAQ service point, some adorbs lil restaurants etc.) This campground is literally right next to beautiful waterfalls!!! Campsites: Tent-camping or renting cabin(places) ONLY. Not trailer accessible. none of them were numbered...so i'm not sure how one would go about picking or reserving a site in particular. Not sure about the costs per night either. They're small with prearranged zones to put your tent. The tents can't be large either, I got away with pitching a 6-person but it hung off both corners and I had to pitch it diagonally. Each site is equipped with a stone rimmed fireplace and a picnic table that can be moved if need/want. (See photos). It is maximum 4 ppl per site. Scenery: Beautiful gorgeous waterfalls in the mountains, typical Quebec forestry. Incredibly breathtaking and worth it if not just for a day visit, but honestly there is something to be said about falling asleep and waking up in the sound of rushing waterfalls. Weather: We were fairly lucky. It only rained for a coupla hours on the Saturday we were there and the weather was unusually warm, even at night. I would think that usually it would liken to most other mountain weather, hot in the day cold at night and can be rainy or sunny from one minute to the next so bring warm dry clothes and set up tarps asap. Commodities/Accommodations: - NO PETS ALLOWED, NADA!!! :( - *NO FOOD ALLOWED ON THE CAMPSITES* Must leave food in car and I'm not entirely sure how one would go about preparing meals: possibly at the Camp Administrator's cabin site ? We cooked our food on a propane grill Yelp rented at the cabin which was also rented by Yelp for our event. Call to ask about this. - Bringing coolers of beverages IS PERMISSABLE on the campsites so you won't hafta go thirsty and alcohol is permitted on the campsites/cabins as well. - *NO DRINKABLE WATER (it smells like sulfur and is fine to use to clean dishes or wash hands and whatnot they just recommend not drinking it). - Your sites are ONLY WHEELBARROW ACCESSIBLE meaning you park your car elsewhere and trek all your stuff about 2-5 minutes down a slope and then back up that hill when you're leaving - Dry vaults only. No flushable toilets, no sinks, no showers. (Just go rinse off in the waterfall and don't expect to stay too long). - A great location for a large group camping experience to be able to camp close to one another community style or rent a big cabin together - Wood costs 12$ for a whole wheelbarrow full. It is an extremly generous portion and is kept dry in a shed, it burns great and cuts great (don't forget your axe, no kindling). - I'm not sure about the ice situation either, I assumed it wouldn't be available so I filled my cooler with 3 bags of ice before arriving (which lasted my 2 night stay for our drinks). Worst case scenario though, as previously mentioned, the town is a 15 minute drive away so no biggy. (Call to ask about this too.) Activities: Many hiking trails, somewhat treacherous, of all lengths and expertise levels. However I do not recommend the Bas De Chutes trail for children under 12-13, pregnant women, babies in carriers, or anyone with a physical disability because it is fairly steep, full of rocks and roots, slippery and just dangerous actually if you're not extremely careful. If you are able to safely get down there, go for a swim near both water falls (bring watershoes), the water is fantabulous. Beware the rocks and the spontaneous depths of water (make sure you're a good swimmer and watch your knees for the rocks that appear out of nowhere!). We were able to swim right up to both falls and sit on the rocks in the rushing water which was extremely kool! Wildlife: There were signs indicating presence of various animals (even coyotes), but we only saw a few chipmunks (some with incredible attitude) and a few birds. There were quite a few species of mushroom though which are always kool to me (see photos). All in all...I would rather keep this place to myself, but they really deserve the attention so I'm sharing the love. Those who know me, know I prefer being able to park at my site, cook on my fire at my site, have a flush-toilet option, and that bringing my dog Irie is a MUST for me...and still, I have to say: I definitely will be back!

Being that we are from Billings Montana where KOA originated, thought it would be a great place to lay out heads. The price for a tent spot was as expected the going rate, $40. ( same as a provincial park.) We arrived late and were unable to take it in until the next morning. Just like home! Kinda nice to be 3k miles from home and feel like your only 10 miles away. A little comfort a long ways away. The park is very well kept with a nice play ground for the kids, a nice size pool and a wading pool as well. The showers were clean and the staff friendly. Also for the adventures people there is also a put put golf course. All in all a very nice experience. The only "gripe" if you will was the location of our site was rather close to the main road. There was a bit of traffic in the early AM. Definitely a nice park, just ask to stay away from the road.

Magnifique! Viator Tour…read more Omg, I had the pleasure to do this Walking ‍ Food Tour w/ Dominique. She's great @ her job & has a whimsical personality. Everyone loved her bc she made us all feel Welcomed. There's a pop quiz in the beginning, hahahaha, Nah! I'm joking! She will ask, where ur from, so don't 4get, Lol We went to "The Famous Bagel shop" & a few other shops along our route. All restauranteurs were friendly to us. Most of us didn't speak Parla Vous Francais, but that was ok, bc they speak fluent English in the downtown area. Not , so much outside of downtown, if u venture out. We met @ The Famous Guillame breakfast nook & I bought a Guillame yellow tote bag which came in handy later @ other stores. I threw everything I bought; into this hefty bag. Ok, bk to the walking food tour. It was cold , but bc Dominique was so professional & organized, we didn't have time to feel cold we bounced flawlessly from restaurant to restaurant in ease. She told stories about each restaurant as we ate. U don't have time to get bored bc she keeps u moving. So, don't diddle dally, Lol I'm not sure , if you'll met @ the same spot as we did, but nonetheless; you'll like it. What's funny , i thought i was gonna meet ppl from around the world in our group, but it was mostly ppl from the U. S. A. They need more signage for sure. I walked all over trying to find it. Its actually in a small tent on the street. However that being said its not very popular and we were able to walk on (after purchasing tickets) on a Saturday for the next ride. The tour guide was OK. It was both in French and English. If you can find it buried amongst the surprisingly quiet confines of the Dominion Square Building in downtown Montréal, the Centre Infotouriste de Montréal is an awesome way to plan a trip. This place isn't just for tourists. Visitors and Québécois alike will find plenty of brochures for places to go throughout Québec. The centre is definitely living up to its current theme is Québec Original (unsurprisingly translated to "Original Québec"): Maps and brochures for towns and regions throughout the Province; activity-specific locales (e.g., skiing), and kid-friendly trips. We came here as it is the pickup spot for what was an excellent Québec City and Montmorency Falls day tour. It's also the hub for several Montréal city tours (Gray Line of Montréal, Coach Canada, Double Decker, etc.). While awaiting our bus, Centre Infotouriste de Montréal gives you plenty to check out. Also: if you want to do a day trip or city tour and you haven't signed up for one, their staff can help you out! The staff can help out on almost any Québec-related travel you may want to do. The place itself is dynamic ... great artwork, murals, and displays. There's free WiFi, tablet, and computer access, which are always welcome. And lest we forget, Centre Infotouriste de Montréal serves, in part, as a gift shop ... and it's hard to do better than what I'm guessing is the biggest tourist info center in all of Québec! Whether staying exclusively in Montréal or venturing throughout Québec, I can't think of a better place to start than here! Wow. Jet boating with Saute-Moutons was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Montreal. I…read morehighly recommend it, but it's not for everyone. It's thrilling, it's exhilarating, and sometimes, it's even scary. This is like a roller coaster ride on the water. And you will get completely soaked, from head to toe, over and over. If getting repeatedly hit and completely doused with large volumes of cold water is not your idea of fun, then do not go on this ride and stop reading now. However, if you're looking for a little excitement in your life and want something different to do, this definitely fits the bill. If you're concerned about safety, our guide pointed out upfront that Saute-Moutons has not had a single fatality since opening for business in 1983. What to expect is pretty simple: 1. You show up to the docks/Saute-Moutons 45 minutes prior to departure. You check in, sit through a tutorial, and review safety procedures. 2. You check your bags/belongings at a counter into a secure room. You change into clothes for the ride. 3. Clothes: Wear a swimsuit or anything you don't mind getting completely soaked. Bring a towel and a complete change of clothes, including footwear in case you decide to wear your own footwear on the boat. Saute-Moutons provides low-quality sandals with strapped-in heels that you can use, included with your ticket price. The water is cold and you will be traveling at high speeds so you will get cold. Saute-Moutons provides sweaters (fleece pullovers). Don't be afraid to layer up. You then put a jumpsuit on. Then you put a poncho on. After that, it's the life vest. Even though you have all of these layers, make no mistake, every crevasse of your body will get wet. Do not bring any loose objects with you onto the boat. You risk losing it. There are pouches on the back of each seat where you can store items such as waterproof cameras, but I don't recommend bringing much else. The water comes in at quite a force and it will easily knock off things like glasses/sunglasses and loose footwear. You might even considering bringing spare contacts because if you're not careful, the force of the water could knock the contacts off your eyeballs. 4. Once everyone is checked in, briefed, and dressed, they are loaded onto an aluminum boat. Ours had two 700 horsepower engines (1,400 horsepower total). Powerful. We made our way south down the St Lawrence River, around Nuns' Island, to the Lachine Rapids. Along the way, our guide narrated and gave us a river tour of Montreal. 5. The fun happens at the Lachine Rapids. Basically, the captain of the boat goes around in circles, in the rapids, trying to smash the front and sides of the boat into huge oncoming waves. You'll go up waves, down waves, and crash directly into them. The captain times a lot of the hits and most of them are huge, dramatic, and downright jolting. To get an idea of what I'm describing, just search YouTube for videos of Saute-Moutons. I must note the videos do not completely do what you actually feel in person justice. Sitting in the boat at rest, the water can get as high up as your belly/chest. The boat gets filled with water (it later drains out). Prepare to get water from the St Lawrence River in pretty much every orifice of your body except for, probably, those in your nether regions, which should be protected by at least two or three layers. I sat on the far right side of the boat (starboard). The first wave the captain smashed into us struck the right side of the boat first. I can only describe it as a rude awakening. It was literally like a roomful of cold water crashed into me from above and from the side. Whoosh. I got a direct hit of water into my right ear. The first hit set the tone for the rest of the ride. People were laughing hysterically, including myself, at how crazy the whole situation was and what we had gotten ourselves into. During the ride on the rapids, the guide (one of two Saute Moutons employees on board) continues to commentate. Our guide also took photos and videos of us with a GoPro. That media was available later on Saute Moutons' website. At one point, he handed us a shampoo bottle and had us pass it around. We literally washed our hair during the ride. 6. The ride lasted about an hour. We made our way back to the docks, all soaked, some cold. They have changing rooms so you can change into a new set of clothes. Consider bringing a large waterproof bag to put your wet swimsuit/clothes in. Todd "the Legend" was our guide (I think that is what he wanted us to call him). He was hilarious. It appears he's been doing this for years and multiple times per day. I'm not sure where he gets his energy from and how he's able to be "on" all the time. Not only is he informative, but he's very friendly and entertaining. He's like a comedian. Prices vary depending on season. We paid about $70 Canadian each after all was said and done. That included tax and tip. I thought it was worth it.

I had a guest from out of town so we brought her with us for the ride. Even my 70 year old mom joined in though she was quite nervous about the experience. However, the ride was way safer and more fun than expected. We got there 45 min early and they play old promo videos to keep you entertained while you wait. You can definitely take this time to go to the bathroom/drink water and even strip down to your swimwear (whatever you're wearing on the boat). Presentation really starts at the 30 min mark. They go over the trip details and send everyone off to check their bags and get their sandals (if needed). NOTE: if you want to sit up front in the boat, you'll have to hustle to be first to check your bags and suit up and run over to the boat because those are the coveted seats!! We were slow so we ended up sitting in the last row. It's still a good experience, especially with my mom on board but I felt it was just a touch on the tamer side than what I wanted. Being this close to the Lachine rapids is such a thrill!! The pale turquoise waves look awesomely beautiful and fast! The curls that the waves made were absolutely stunning!! For me it was really a visual treat. We went on a hot day and our departure was at 5pm so the water had the whole day to warm up and was a tepid 23°C in August. When you hit a good wave, the water floods and drains out the back of the boat so after a huge wave crashed on the boat, we had water right up to our knees!!! I think we must've done 5 loops of going up and coming down the rapids and then it was a very speedy ride back to the Old Port. You'll appreciate the free hair drying portion of the ride as the wind whips your hair dry! The staff were helpful, funny, warm and personable. The owner Jack made you feel super welcomed. In fact, he asked us if it was our first time, he joked why did we wait so long to come see him! Here's my recommendations, if it's not 30°C out, you may feel a touch chilly in the 15 min speed ride to and from the rapids, especially after getting wet! Wearing a poncho keeps you warm and your hair almost dry because it comes with a hood. Even if it's your first time, try to sit at least 3 rows from the back because during the ride out, the engine is loud so you won't here anything the tour guide is saying even on the speakerphone. Also, you'll get a more immersive (literally) experience!! Be the first one out to the pier if you want front row seats. At the back, we still got totally soaked but we weren't really baptized in the river like those in the front rows. Sometimes we saw waves but they never reached the back of the boat. I brought my goggles cause I wore contacts but they fogged up a bit so I couldn't see how awesome the waves were but I put them up in between rounds. The water isn't a spray... More like a pounding so it can knock things loose. Bring a hair tie to keep your hair out of your face. Take the 5pm ride if you want a warm water experience. It was hot out but the sun wasn't overbearing. When the water filled the boat it was nice and tepid. If you can bring a waterproof GoPro to capture the waves cresting as the boat prepares to dive into the waves, it's the most epic thing ever! Alternatively you "can" bring your phone and during the ride back to the Old Port our tour guide offered to take pics and videos on people's phones. Great experience and if you're from Montreal, you gotta try it at least once!
