We were able to get a table for two without reservations, but it's probably safer to get a…read morereservation. Pretty awesome tasting menu. The plates are all creative and interesting. Many of the plates are custom made for Manu, and it really helped elevate the dishes. They brought out all the finger foods, one after the other. It was a little distracting to get a few plates, hear the explanation, and then get a few more plates while in the middle of taking a bite. They should bring a few plates of finger foods and wait until they're done before bringing the next round. Few dishes were mind-blowing, so I think they would benefit greatly by reducing the size of the tasting menu, and increasing the complexity of the dishes. They let us take the Tasting Menu home which is always a plus.

Great Food. Pricey. Some dishes definitely at Michelin star level. 3 menu choices made for the…read moretable. Unique ingredients and variety of cooking techniques. Separately few dishes were quite spectacular, such as tucupi soup, excellent skirt stake or dessert frozen yoghurt with tomato and grape. All together however it felt like the meal didn't have a flow. It was quite a ride, but it got bumpy now and there. Some dishes just didn't fit their place exactly. One big mistake was serving coffee (after meal that included amazing dessert) with whole lot of candy. As much as I love sweets and also the cute way they were served, each in its own drawer, it was just too much of sweet that killed sensations of the dinner very quickly. Also, some serving plates were not very well matched with their dishes. For example it was very hard to eat the long beef tongue slices from the 'volcano' plate. Steak tartar would be easier there. Very nice touch was to receive a little gift with pastries for the next mornings breakfast- super sweet! You can see chefs working on your dishes, but only their hands are visible- I don't know why, but I liked it. Made the wait more exciting. Few minuses that the owner might want to look into preparing for Michelin commission: Decor and music could be chosen with better taste- less is more. Girls toilet had ugly leak on the wall. Friendly stuff, but only one out of 3 waiters spoke english. Would be really hard without having at least one person speaking portuguese. It's a shame, as I suppose this place has many international guests. Extra pay for valet parking- we would have leave a tip, but the guy smelling very strongly of cologne made it clear that fee was not voluntary...
