To preface this review, we're not wine or alcohol drinkers in general so this was our first time and had such a wonderful experience. Huge shoutout to Victor for making the entire experience so wonderful! He chatted with us, went into the whole history of the vineyard, general wine information, and gave us a ton of recommendations. We sampled the mixed flights and the red wines, but everything was just a tad strong for us. He ended up recommending the Rojo Espresso and another mixed wine (Esperanza?). Those two were fantastic and we really enjoyed those. We would've had no idea what to order so we appreciate it so much and it made our entire experience. Kid friendly winery. Sorry kid-less parents. We came with a party of 12 on a Friday afternoon. Only another couple patrons at the time. They have a small bar area with one wine tender. There was also a person going around provide complimentary bread with two types of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was a simple Christmas event for family. They have a good amount or parking and a beautiful overall surroundings. It was a cold night but they provided fire pits for us and had a beautiful indoor wine floor. While a lot of technical issues came about they handled it very respectfully and with smiles. We went here recently for a country performance, and had a great time. They have the parking really dialed in with employees guiding you where to go. It's a huge winery! For the concert, they had a bbq food truck on site and inside, some wines available by the glass or bottle. Service was quick and friendly, and the concert was the awesome. I think the owners were there too and they seemed really involved and passionate about it, which we loved. Definitely recommend coming here, it's worth the trip! read more

We had a magical time at Campos Family Vineyards over Thanksgiving break. The staff were personable and welcoming when we arrived. We ordered the red and white wine flights. A unique aspect of Campos Family Vineyards is that they allow you to navigate your own tasting with wine flights. We were able to sit outside in their picturesque garden area, on a shaded picnic table. The staff brought out our flights along with an accompanying card that indicated what each wine was. Each flight was also completed with an epic handmade cookie - chosen specifically to complement the red and white wine pairing. In addition to our wine, the staff also brought out fresh bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to enjoy during our tasting. It was the perfect accompaniment for the generous wine pours. In fact the in-house Tuscany blend seasoning that they provided for the olive oil was so good that we ended up buying a number of containers of it. I have been using it to season everything ever since. While we were there, we watched as a number of darling looking airstreams and booths were being set up for a holiday craft/gift fair the following day. Browsing some of the posters that we saw at the back of their main hall - it sounds like Campos Winery hosts an array of fun community and interactive events - ranging from comedy nights, to live music etc. In fact - if you are looking to host any sort of bigger event and have a budget - Campos Winery could be a lovely spot for it. With over 44 acres of magical landscape - that has everything from an 8,000 square foot indoor event center, to picnic areas, to a baseball field, and a bocce court - Campos has the ability to host anything from retreats, to weddings, to concerts, etc. If you happen to be in the area with friends or loved ones - Campos Winery is well worth stopping into. The Venue is very nice. Just disappointed when they hosted a band / DJ both times I have attended and had a bunch of kids running around like a day care. This is a winery not a park!! I just feel if you want to keep it classy make it for adults only . I love children but loud music, alcohol just doesn't mix. It really took me by surprise that you would allow kids to attend. I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing . We were a group of adults and just were disappointed having it a playground. Nicer tables with really table cloths vs plastic , battery candles on tables would really give your place some class also. Would pay $20 vs 12 if that's what you need to upgrade your venue. Hoping you take this as a positive review. I think you would get a really good group of adults if they knew things changed. read more

We came to Campos on Friday night, it was nice to get out of the house, hang with friends, & have a place like this available. It's a nice setup, with a huge lawn area, tables spaced apart with umbrellas, they can seat 6-8 people at them. We joined their wine club as well. For being in Tracy, this is a nice option if you don't want to drive over the hill to Livermore or make the drive to Napa. They have a huge vineyard, softball/baseball field, indoor facilities, and they have it setup to have weddings there. The grounds and setup is very well maintained, clean, nice. We'll be going back regularly hopefully. read more

We walked into the winery for tasting. We chose to try the white and red flights. We were happy with the presentation of wine. Spiral tree racks. We were given bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to try during our tasting. This allowed us to try different flavors with the wine. We also got an amazing cookie. My boyfriend has been a member for about 4 months and we have been extremely dissatisfied with the way we have been treated. Other wineries in the area actually try and get to know their members and go above and beyond to make it a great experience not the case at campos. Also, recently they have changed their club membership from 4 tastings a month to 2 tasting a month apparently sent via email of which we never received. Wine is mediocre at best. Went to Campos over the weekend with 3 other people. It was too hot to sit outside so we stayed inside. The chairs inside are so uncomfortable that I couldn't wait to leave. I asked if we could sit in the other building (completely empty) and they said no because it's for members only. The wine is nothing to rave about. So, off we went to find a winery that was more accommodating. I also asked to try the new dessert wine and the lady helping me said she would ask her manager but never got back to me. read more

Our amazing neighbors brought us to Campos after thanksgiving and we immediately bought memberships because not only was the service 11/10, but the wine is to die for! Stephanie is always here every single time I've made it out to Byron and she is the absolute best. Attentive beyond belief, so helpful and caring! Campos is the place to be to wind down, have girls day/night, or just a quick drink with your date. We have also met Mr & Mrs Campos and also Vino- their dog! Ric is super friendly and shows that he cares about each member. Our favorite wines are Dolce Vino, Layla Rae Chardonnay, and the Can Franc Reserve. Drool!!! I attended what I thought was a fun, casual night out with friends for Wine Down Friday however our reserved table was located between 2 families who knew each other with several small children (at least 6 or 7 kids). I understand this is a family friendly, kids welcoming winery but the online do's and don'ts for this type of event clearly indicated "Please be sure your children are at an arms reach of you AT ALL TIMES while on the property", this was not the case. We were subject to kids throwing toys at each other and us, crying, screaming, fighting, hitting, playing hide and seek around and under our table and their parents seemingly ignoring the chaos. Our evening was ruined by the distraction of these children and we ended up leaving the event early. I get it, it would be nearly impossible to wrangle kids at a outdoor event. Maybe the winery owners should consider moving the families that bring their children to a certain section of the lawn area where they could also enjoy themselves without bothering the other guests. read more

When my friends offered to come visit me, I was delighted. Tracy can be a trek at the best of times, so I wanted to do something they would enjoy and might never do themselves. We decided on lunch (n Livermore) and wine. The Tracy vineyards haven't fared so well. So I did some research and came up with Campos. Byron is close by (about 20 minutes from home) and off the beaten path. Perfect! We spent a lovely hour or so sipping a wine flight on the veranda and enjoyed every minute. It was 100+ degrees outside, so the shade was much appreciated. I tried the white flight. The nose on the pinot grigio was lovely, but I think I enjoyed drinking the chenin blanc and the rose best. Because of where it is, dropping in later on a Saturday afternoon was perfect. Not too many people. Plus the drive from Livermore (via Vasco Road) was lovely. Recommended. read more

Not a fan. Visited this place for a comedy event recently. While we did enjoy the show itself I don't plan on returning. Since we had never been we were walking around checking out the place and followed a lady inside who was looking for a restroom. We quickly noticed the area inside was closed, after a quick glance we walked out and found an shaded table to sit at. We were soon approached by a female sternly telling us do not go inside it's closed. Yes, we realized and left I mentioned. She definitely sought us out to tell us. Perhaps a sign in the door would be appropriate so patrons don't enter. Or here's a thought, lock it. Next, the price of wine seemed over the top of what we pay at other local wineries for a glass or bottle so we opted for the $8 small plastic cup of wine slush which was tasty just a bit overpriced. Lastly, and noticed very quickly was the churchy vibe. It seems like this was a church group event as the owners offered a blessing at the beginning of the show and my perception was we were sitting w a congregation. My final "experience" has nothing to do w the establishment but audience members feeling comfortable enough to yell out comments during part of the show that were in my opinion politically motivated/racist. read more

Hands down the most amazing venue in the area! The new renovations are gorgeous, Ric and Michelle are so wonderful and the new wines are amazing! The sparkling blanc and rose are my personal favorites! I also love the estate wines.. was happy to see an all new tasting menu with so many great varietals! Just beware if you plan on visiting Campos Family Vineyards. We went there last week for a tasting and brought several bottles, but when I got home I realized all the hidden charges that they made. When you go to their website, it says the tasting fee is $15 per person. However, it costs $5 per person to make the reservation. Then, be aware that they charge tax and tip on the $15 tasting fee. And if you decide to buy a bottle of wine, they charge a tip on the bottle price and tax. We are club members of several other wineries and have never been charged a tip on a purchase or the tasting let alone a reservation fee. I don't mind tipping for service but not on a purchase. Next time I'll go to the store. When I called to confirm these charges, I was told that yes this was their policy, but you have the option to take off the tip. They just don't tell you. Buyer beware! While this property hosts fun/family summer events and offers beautiful views, I was shocked to have received the customer service I did when I reached out to book a private event. The "coordinator" also titled as the general manager was not very helpful from start to finish in answering my questions or providing detailed information. Her response turn around rate was anywhere between 48-96 hours and in my opinion not sufficient for someone trying to plan an event. No longer family friendly. I've been coming for years with friends to the family nights on Fridays with the food trucks and live music, and have always enjoyed our time in the past. Unfortunately, this last visit was very hostile towards families with children, and the owner was even aggressive towards children for no reason. I'm a woman in her early 30s without children, and I'm the first to get aggravated when children are misbehaving, so for me to be on the side of the children is an absolute first. I've never been in a situation like tonight where I was astonished at how inappropriate the actions were taken towards children at a self-proclaimed "family vineyard." For reference, the playground has been removed and replaced with a concrete patio to prevent play. So naturally children were playing, safely, around their families on the large lawn area instead. However, any child seen playing at all were reprimanded by some random woman who identified herself as "with the owners" (but didn't have any formal identification). There were no rules posted regarding running, playing, fun, dancing, etc... when in the past, it's been very common for the children to engage in these activities with one another at this family event. So it the hostility from the owners table was very confusing. There were no general announcements made or even rules posted for the new expectations of children, so it's not like parents were willfully ignoring any stated rules. Essentially, the only "appropriate" behavior was for children to sit and play on their tablets. I even saw two small boys harmlessly and gently tossing a nerf ball back and forth in close proximity to each other that was confiscated by that random woman! The only time I come here is when I'm joining my friends who have children because they love it, and I enjoy being there with them to join in the fun. However, the whole situation was extremely uncomfortable and hostile. I understand if the business is trying to abandon their "family friendly" reputation, but then they need to communicate that so people can plan accordingly. Frankly, we would have saved ourselves the trouble and money had we known that families were no longer actually welcome. The grounds are nice, but it's confusing where it's okay to walk or not because there's literally zero signage and no barriers. I stepped away from the concert to take a phone call and found a nice quieter area with some gorgeous adult patio swings with a nice view on an open lawn, however, was later told by staff that I wasn't allowed there. They were polite and I have no problem with that, but it would have been nice if there was a sign posted or some type of barrier to indicate that area is off limits. Especially since it's very common for wineries to have multiple sitting areas with patio seating and swings. There was nothing to indicate that I wasn't supposed to be there, so I felt a little uncomfortable by being reprimanded when I didn't even know there was a rule I was breaking to begin with. Honestly, this was probably how all the families with children felt who were in attendance of this event. A little communication goes a long way in preventing these types of situations. That being said, I did give two stars because the staff are friendly (excluding the owners and their table), the wine is decent, the food trucks are great, and the ambience is lovely. It's a nice outdoor venue for a picnic, just maybe not as a family outing (hostile towards family with children) or as a romantic evening (outhouses for restrooms). read more

The Campos family clearly put their heart and soul into hospitality. They want to be good stewards of their property, and they had accomplished just that. I just went to a Friday night concert and it was a casual, welcoming and enjoyable experience. There were a couple food trucks and an amazing singer, Tori McGee. Kids and dogs are welcome to enjoy alongside everyone else and there are huge lawns, bocce ball courts, and a baseball field to hang around. They even had shuttles to take us from the parking to the venue so we didn't have to walk so far. I tried their rosé, which was refreshing on the 100+ degree day. I ended up getting a bottle of their crisp, floral-y white blend and will go back for it. It's a beautiful property that's not on the typical wine tour but definitely worth a night out at, especially for families and groups. Support this awesome local business! One downside was we had to use port-a-potties outside in the heat. It was warm inside the venue but then again it was 110 that day and a lot of people in one room. read more

This review is for my experience visiting the Campos Family Vineyard back in June. The day started out decent when I went wine tasting with a few friends here. On our way out, we noticed there was a gazebo with a single person and multi person swing. We all decided to have a little fun and get on the swings just to relive some childhood fun. I unfortunately fell from the swing when the chain unlatched from the hook on one side. I fractured my finger and was not able to work as a server for a month. I didn't contact the winery for a few days because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since I thought I just sprained my finger. When I went to the doctor and found out that it was actually fractured, I decided to contact the GM, Jamie Garza who is supposedly also the daughter of the owners. I sent her an email explaining the incident and telling her that the gazebo is pretty easy to access and that it could be a liability to their business if this was to happen to another customer. Her response lacked empathy and was pretty hostile. She tried to turn the situation around on me and told me that we were trespassing on the private homeowners property and that there was large signage posted all around. If signs were visible, I would not trespass on someone's property especially a property I just went wine tasting at. Below, there's pics near the gazebo that show there is not proper signage. All I can say is it's really disappointing to see how the GM/ owner's daughter treated me. It sounds like they definitely care about protecting their business more than their customers. Campos Family Vineyard, you should be ashamed and hold your employees accountable but let's be real you're not going to do that. So the best I can do is offer this review in hopes that future customers will think before they spend their money here. read more
