Sales staff were friendly and helpful. But when our slide out stopped working 3 months after we bought our trailer, getting it fixed by Can Am's service center was an exercise in futility. We explained that we needed our trailer 3 weeks hence, as we were headed to Nova Scotia for a 2 week trip. They said it shouldn't be a problem. After two weeks of hearing nothing, we called. No one would return our calls. Finally got someone on the phone after multiple tries. When I asked if the problem had been fixed the person on the other end of the phone said: "Uhhhhh, yeah. Haven't gotten to it yet." When I asked if if it would be looked at (a week to go now) he said: "Uhhhhh we'll try." Flash forward to 3 days before departure. Still no answers to our repeated messages. When we did get through, The same guy said: "Uhhhh, yeah we didn't have time." My wife went out to pick up the trailer the next day. They didn't even have it ready to go. She had to wait until someone towed it out front, and just dropped it there and left. No one spoke to her about the issues we were having, offers to try and fix it with a day to go, nothing. We ended up calling another RV retailer that we had bought our last trailer from (regretfully they didn't have the model we wanted when we went to upgrade our old RV and we had to purchase from Can Am, unfortunately) and asked if they could get it into their shop last minute to see if they could help. They told us to bring it over (which we did) and they were able to address and fix the problem in less than an hour. The slide out motors were out of sync apparently, and they were able to get that fixed without parts, etc. They didn't even charge us. Can am are all smiles and helpfulness until they get your money. Then they just don't care. When you are spending 55K on a new trailer, the service should at least be adequate. Do yourself a favour. Give this company a pass. Worst service I've ever had. read more

For initial trailer sales and setting up hitch work, I give 5 stars. However, their after sales service is poor. On our first trip with our brand new trailer, the fridge door panel fell out, and jammed the fridge door. We got it repaired and two trips later the "repaired" fridge door did the exact same thing. We took it back and requested the door be fixed properly and few other issues that developed over the short time we have had the trailer. We told them the date we would next need the trailer and were assured the repairs would be made. One month later I called to arrange pickup four days later and upon arrival not only did they have no record of me calling for pickup, the repairs had not even been started. As a result I had to wait for some ad hoc repairs to be made, taking time away from other tasks I needed to do that day. There seems to be a complete lack of coordination, follow up on repairs and customer service issues, and consideration of the customers time. We have been long time customers but service seems to be going downhill. For all the money we spent on the trailer itself and additional warranties, we are not impressed!! read more

I found Can-Am RV through the online forum airforums.com and RV Lifestyle magazine. I basically needed to increase the towing capacity of my Honda Odyssey. Through research online and reading blogs such as http://towedhaul.blogspot.com/ and anne-grethe-einar.blogspot.com, I found that these champions of travel went through Can-Am RV for their RVing needs. The sales staff was very good treated with respect. As for service and parts staff, the work performed definitely not what a person would like. One service problem explained 3 times and still not resolved numerous emails and phone calls still not repaired. Needed a new screen ordered and again 3 calls and still have not had it ordered. When you spend a decent amount of money on a purchase you would hope for better care afterwards. read more

My wife and I purchased a new Visa Ultra Light travel trailer from Can-Am last fall. We traveled 5 hours to get here from Eastern Ontario because we heard that Can-Am were experts in trailer hitches and trailer/RV sales. We made the right decision. Purchasing a travel trailer was a breeze. We already had a model in mind but they showed us several others just to make sure we made the right choice. Can-Am sold us a hitch and installed it overnight allowing us to stay in our new trailer on-site. They made sure everything was right including taking us for a test drive before we headed home. In Feb-April 2013 we headed out on our first trip: 20,000 km return to San Diego, CA. The trailer pulled like it wasn't even there- it was perfectly balanced behind our 6 cyl Ford F-150. We gave the trailer a good run and being an ultra-light there were a few issues which needed some warranty work. In addition we got caught in a freak snowstorm in Flagstaff, Arizona and were sideswiped by a pick-up who was passing us. His insurance covered the damages but we decided to have all the repairs done by Can-Am when we returned home (the trailer was still OK to pull). On return Can-Am fixed the insurance repairs and did the warranty work- no questions asked. They provided the very best in service and acted professional in every way. We are convinced that purchasing a trailer is an important decision from a financial and safety perspective. I want to go to a dealer where safety is their #1 priority but still be competitive price-wise. Can-Am does both amazingly well. I'm sure that's why their business is busy and booming.
