Pastor Robby and his entire family are some of the most sincere down to earth people I have ever met and he will make sure you feel welcomed. It is in a very convenient location in Royal Oak with two services that will help if you are an early riser like me as well as those who may come a little more prepared to the second service. The worship consisted of traditional hymn-style songs with a reverent and structured tone. The music created a reflective atmosphere that encouraged congregational participation and focus on biblical truths. During my time the sermon was about rediscovering Jesus's true identity and rekindle your relationship with the Good News of Christ. The Pastor shared his own journey of progressing away from a rewards-and-punishments type of thinking towards understanding God's love at a deeper level than he had before. The pastor explained that God's love gives you and I salvation and hope for everyone on this planet, that we are God's beloved children and he also used Matt. 13:31-32 to help us see how Jesus' kingdom continues to grow and develop all over the Earth. One area of the sermon that I found to be of disagreement or of Biblical inaccuracy was how the pastor viewed the Bible at times as a political document rather than as a Christ-centered document; however, the overall message was clearly about Christ.

This church is massive. It definitely deserves the name of a shrine…read more The altar is in the center of the church and the pews all jet out from every end of this central altar. You can definitely see the altar at any seat in the building, even upstairs on the balcony. The only difficulty is if you're not facing the main altar, as the priest often will face out one way. The church is the most beautiful during Christmas. It's always well decorated and filled with poinsettias and Garland, streamers and lights everywhere. The other downside of this church is that it's so massively huge, but it does not feel warm and welcoming. I will often go to this church for Easter and Christmas, because if it's close proximity to my house. For regular Sunday visits I will often go to other smaller churches, that feel more comfortable and cozy. Still every time I'm inside of this church in a few, I'm always struck and in all of the interior design and structure of this Shrine.

We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary and I couldn't have found a better place for my family to worship the Lord. They are not a cult I promise you. Theres been times we couldn't give and I promise you we weren't shave shamed out made to feel less then anyone else.

We love the family feel, the opportunities for outreach, mission, learning and growing in our faith. We did not have children when we joined, but were most excited at the youth programs - they are amazing, and now that we do have children, who are becoming of age to participate in the programs, we are even more pleased with our choice to join this fantastic church.
