Very bad experience here. Dealing with Anton was frustrating from start to finish. I was given advice on NAS drives and a server build that turned into a mess. The setup had firmware that didn't work properly, and I ran into driver conflicts between the RAID firmware and other components, which caused instability and ongoing issues. When I tried to get answers, Anton was stuttering through explanations and giving me conflicting information that felt dishonest and misleading. On top of that, the pricing and quotes didn't match what I was later told. Overall, this was one of the worst sales and support experiences I've had. Do not deal with him seriously, avoid him if you can. I would recommend going to the Cambridge location instead if you're looking for better service. read more

I gave one star strictly for the reasonable pricing. The service was criminal. My wife purchased a refurbished computer and bought the 2 year extended warranty, after 3 months the computer started freezing and slowing down, then stopped working all together. We live 2 hours away from the store so we called to let them know what happened. We eventually got the computer to the store a few weeks later. After 3 weeks they called us back to let us know that THE COMPUTER COULD NOT BE FIXED and that due to it's age the would only give us a partial IN STORE CREDIT. We asked about the warranty we had purchased, and they told us that it was not their store policy to replace defective equipment. We told them we wanted the warranty cost replaced then, and were told they couldn't do that either. This is the most underhanded and dishonest company that my Wife and myself have ever dealt with, I don't know how they haven't been sued out of existence. ***in Kitchener, not San Francisco *** It took several months And nearly $100 to get Canada Computers to honour the warranty that I bought from them on a $600 laptop . Over those months they had my laptop more than I did; I tried calling them dozens of times and they rarely answered the phone; they didn't call me to let me know when my computer was ready; and when I would go in I would sometimes wait up to half an hour to speak to the manager. They tried to blame me for the problem the 2nd time, and they charged me for the $30 part not once but three times before they finally replaced the computer . I was still out the money for replacing the part 3 times. They essentially told me take it or leave it . I will never buy anything from them again . read more

the computer repair service start from 99$, if you want to pick your computer up today, you have to pay extra service fees, which is about 50$. otherwise you have to wait for two weeks. Since some services only take 40 minutes, I think the extra fees are unreasonable. read more

Went there to check it out and oh boy is it a good place. They have good customer service and they were very kind and knowledgeable. They sell high quality name brand products for a reasonable price. This a copy paste of what I had to write to their customer service contact from their website: Yesterday I came to your store to buy a headset for a job I was supposed to start to day. Due to the fact I had lost my previous job, and because ofthe lockdown protocools I had been unemployed for three months. Because my last job was under-the-table I had no acess to CERB cheques. The money I was using to buy this headset was money I had to borrow from family members. with this in mind I told the customer servive rep in the store exactly what I'm telling you right now. I asked him, because I know nothing about the current tech: "Will this headset work for what i needed (data entry, with dialer). He responded yes. I belived him and with the last of my money bought the headset. When i got home it wasn't in fact the right headset, what he had sold me was essentially a gaming headset. Today i came back and was told that because I opened it I would not get a refund but they gave me a gift certificate instead. They couldn't exchange it because they didn't have the right headset in the store to begin with. The service rep called other stores and couldn't find any other models. So the store manager said that the best he could do was give me a gift certificate. But that is not the best he could do. The best he could have done is to acknowledge the fact that I need a headset and can not afford to bear the cost of his employees misinformaion. Not only has it cost me money I had to borrow, but it has cost me the job I was supposed to start at_________ as a data entry clerk at 5pm est. I TOLD the employee this yesterday, before i bought him, I told him how urgent it was that what he was selling be the right equipment and he assured me it was. This gift certificate is useless to me. If you can't exchange the headset then I ask that I be reimbursed financially for the money I spent on the headset you said was the one i needed but wasn't. At the very least give me the means to look for a headset somewwhere else. I cannot afford to to just bear the cost of another person untruth. I hope your sense of humanity will prevail over store policy. I'm still extremely dissapointed that this entire experience has cost me my job. A job that i truly needed. It took me a month of search to get that job. For your employee to just shrug and say "sorry" is almost more than I can bear. EDIT: I had to contact the office and they relented and I'm getting my money back, but i WILL NEVER FORGET the profound lack of empathy and the sheer ummitigated greed of the manager of the Waterloo location. Empathy is what makes us human, without it a person is little more than a two-legged hyena. When I placed my order online on their website and filled out billing information, it automatically changed my shipping address to the billing address without me knowing. Then when I called to correct the shipping address they told me it's their policy that the billing address and shipping address must be the same. This is a terrible policy that lead to me not receiving my package or being able to receive a refund. DO NOT USE THEIR WEBSITE. Never ordering from them again. read more

Canada Computer is like a candy store for nerds, and computer enthusiasts. If you've just read a review about a computer products, don't want order it online, and can't find it at your local Big Box, chances are very good Canada Computers carries it. There are three main reasons a deducted two stars. 1) Their pricing used to be a lot better! In all fairness, this could be a reflection of our weaker, which at time of this review is trading at $0.72 (ouch). That being said, I've been able to get much better pricing on parts from Best Buy down the street, by taking advantage of their Lowest Price Guarantee - it does work, and they do honor it. 2) Return Policy. It's downright awful. Many products have a 5-20% restocking fee. In 2016 - seriously? This has been their policy since the 1990's, and they to change it. 3) Staff. They have some awesome, helpful staff at this location, while others are downright zombies (The Emo kid at video cards/hard drives comes to mind). Definitely worth checking out, and as I mentioned you can find just about everything, computer related, here. Just be smart, and do your homework before purchasing. By the way, they do offer an extended warranty on many parts, but the price can really add up if you're looking at high-end parts. For example, I paid $199 for three years warranty on my new iMac. I paid Canada Computers nearly $700 for my PC rendering machine. read more

Poor service. When I went in to buy a computer I waited for help at the front counter for help while 4 other employees were talking and on the computer. When I came to return my compter parts there I was beyond disappointed with the service. I bought an open box pc case and when I went to use it it was incomplete and parts were missing so I go return it and they didn't accept it. Even though I bought it unknowingly with missing parts. When I returned the graphics card with in the 15 day policy I was not please with the service either. They questioned my integrity when it came down to the serial number of the graphics card and the receipt card. The sold me a graphics card with a different serial number than the box and now I can not return it. To conclude. Do not come here and find your business somewhere else. Canada computers have some very low quality products and terrible customer service and warranty/exchange policies. I bought a wireless mouse (Deluxe brand) that stopped functioning. They refused to give me a refund and offered to exchange it for any mouse (I pay difference if it costs more). I wanted to exchange it for another brand because of my bad luck with Deluxe but all their other mouses were way overpriced and they will not price match with Amazon. I ended up exchanging it for another Deluxe brand mouse. The mouse they exchanged it with also stopped functioning. They refused to exchange the second mouse or give me a refund. Told me to go take it up with the manufacturer. The manufacture is located in China and the English portion of their website does not work. I may have well just thrown my money in the garbage because if anything goes wrong with products you purchase at Canada Computers you won't get any service. I was a long time customer of Canada Computers but not anymore. Go to BestBuy and ask them to price match whatever you see at Canada Computers and get far better service if anything goes wrong. I bought a printer and a pair of head set last week. I had no help to bring the printer to the car, I manage to put the printer in the car first, and I forgot the head set still on the roof of the car. I packed out the parking the head set fall off and got hit by another car at the parking lot. The Chinese manager refused to do exchange for my head set everything happened less than 5 minutes. Easily the BEST place in the KW area for awesome prices on a wide selection of in-stock computer parts and accessories. I've been building computers for myself and for family from here for many years and never had an issue. The customer service may not be the best but if you know what you're doing and know what to buy, you can't go wrong with shopping here. Much better than driving out to Tigerdirect in Mississauga in my opinion (and less hassle than ordering from online stores). Thus far, after two inquiry emails to them, the only thing I've received in response is an email with a tracking number that Canpar doesn't recognize. Placed an order on Nov 3 2015, received email confirmation order was processed and would be delivered in one business day. I did not receive my order and called in, no answer. I emailed and no reply for 2 days, and the reply was not clear as to if the order was shipped or not. I them cakes in again and the car was very rude and said they would just cancel the order. I explained I needed this for business and paid the expedite shipping and received confirmation I would received my order the next business day. They ended up cancelling but to date, I have not received my refund. It's been a complete waste of time and if you google - I am not the only one that has had issues with this shady / scamming / fraudulent business. read more

This is probably the only real computer shop in K-W, however I would strongly suggest shopping else where. Their prices are only ok (nine out of ten products in their store can be found much cheaper on amazon, more on that later,) and their customer service is abysmal. I have been in the store when at least 4 visible employees were wandering around, and not another customer was in sight and it still took more than 20 minuted to get service. On top of that they nearly refuse to back any product they sell, many are final sale or carry a hefty restocking fee, leaving you holding the bag is they sell you a faulty item, which is a massively outdated style of return policy. Those nine out of ten items that can be found cheaper on amazon? They can be returned within 30 days for a full refund, with nearly no questions asked. Newegg and NCIX also have both better customer service and less horrid return policies for defective products. Even if you do not have a credit card, DO NOT SHOP HERE. Best buy may have limited selection on custom pc parts, but they will beat Canada Computers price, allow you to return defective items for a refund with out forcing a restocking fee on you, and have outstanding customer service. If you decide to shop here, you will regret it eventually. Maybe not your first time, maybe not your second time, but eventually you will be left dealing with their awful sales reps, terrible customer service or holding the bag for a (usually expensive) defective item. In this modern age, you do not have to deal with horrendous business' like this one, with tons of better options online as I said above. read more

I ordered a Razer BlackWidow keyboard from the Waterloo location, and the guy behind the counter said it would take 3-5 business days to come in. I was okay with that. The closest Canada Computers with one in stock was over an hour away, so it was a decent compromise. That was OVER 3 WEEKS ago. I've worked retailed my whole life, and I have never let any of my customers down, in such a way that Canada Computers has let me down now. Their sales associates are always doing nothing in the store, and will avoid helping you if it is possible. I feel like the only thing holding back the only technology store in Kitchener/Waterloo, is their staff. read more

Canada computers is probably the worst company I've ever experienced when it comes to customer service. I made an order over $500 on April 28th and paid extra for express shipping to later find out AFTER I HAD ALREADY PAID that they didn't have express shipping and I'd have to wait 5-10 business days. Which I was like "okay fine" so the 19TH of MAY I emailed they're customer support because when you call the local number and toll free number no matter what time it is they're always dealing with "an overwhelming amount of calls" and literally hang up on you. I've been waiting for my package for over a month after I was told multiple times that I would get my package within 5-10 business days. Lmfao I'll never recommend this company to anyone I know and Ill personally make it my objective to make sure anyone interesting in anything computers never shops here. It's insane how fast you people will take a customers money and then completely forget about their order and not even have to common respect to answer emails or have someone pick up the freaking phone to let customers know there will be a longer delay on there items. I absolutely hate dealing with the workers in this store. About a year and a bit ago, I purchased a laptop from them and not even a year later the hinge broke off twice. Each time I went to deal with the problem I never received any answers. It was so bad that I had to get my dad to phone in and they would gladly answer his questions but not mine. After a long process I was given a new laptop...but low and behold the wifi refuses to work and now I have a useless laptop. I refuse to deal with them any longer!!! read more
