The Long Version: I'm a bit hesitant to write this review, because I don't want them to be busier than they already are so I can get a quicker appointment the next time I need them, lol. But I need to give credit where credit is due and these guys are 5 stars all the way. My 12 year old car was making some rattling noises when I drove over bumps or uneven road. Takaki Auto had excellent reviews on many different platforms, and combing through them they seemed like legit reviews. They also came highly recommended on several chat forums. They are also close to my house and specialize in Japanese vehicles, which mine is. When I called for an appointment, I described my issue and they told me the plan of what they were going to check. They were booking about a month out. I dropped off my car on my appointment date and was able to rent a loaner car. They ended up keeping my car over the weekend because they weren't able to finish the work on the Friday that I dropped it off, but I was ok with that since I had the loaner. Hiroshi called me and explained the situation after they diagnosed what was wrong. They had already gone ahead and replaced a stabilizer link because I had given pre-authorization for certain repairs, if required, but further repairs were needed so he had to talk with me. He gave me some options (like just replacing the bushings instead of the entire controller arms). And advised me it wasn't urgent to fix, but explained some possible consequences of delaying the fix (like uneven tire wear and the sound could mask other more critical sounds if something else were to go wrong). He was very patient with me as I know very little about cars. In the end I didn't want to delay the repairs and I had them replace the 2 control arms for me. They texted me when my car was ready and sent me the detailed invoice. Pickup went smoothly and they fixed the problem. My car no longer made the rattling sound when I drove over bumps and the car seemed to drive smoother. I found the price reasonable and I was very happy with the customer service. Oh, let me tell you about the loaner car, it was like over 20 years old with over 300,000 km on it, yet still drove well. I feel this in itself is a testament to their skills, lol. I am glad to have found an auto shop that I like. My dad does all the basic maintenance stuff for me like oil changes, changing my tires and he can even change brake pads and spark plugs, but the more complicated stuff I need to take to professionals. I had it towed in the day before my Wednesday appointment to give them a full extra day. By Wednesday afternoon, no call. I reached out and learned they were running behind because 4 jobs had carried over from the previous day. I rented a car, expecting mine back Wednesday or Thursday. Thursday: they diagnosed it and said parts would arrive Friday. Friday: Vicki in service told me parts were in, but they couldn't schedule a technician for the key coding--even though they had someone for the install. No guarantee of Friday completion. I extended my rental to Monday. Monday: still no guarantee, but they did finish. When I picked up the car, Vicki wasn't there. I asked two staff members about the delays. One said she didn't know; a male colleague chimed in that they were "waiting for parts." I pointed out that Vicki had confirmed parts were there on Friday. He had no reply. I said I'd write a review instead of waiting for a callback--and neither staff member seemed surprised. That lack of surprise tells me this is routine for Ottawa Honda's service department. So here's my question: if a dealer's service department can't schedule properly, doesn't apologize for repeated delays, and gives conflicting excuses when confronted--should you trust them with your car?

I realize this is just one bad review out of hundreds or maybe thousands of positive good reviews out there but sometimes all it takes is just one. but please don't let my review deter you away from purchasing a VW. This has simply been my experience with "Taylor Creek VW" and the vehicle itself. 1) The sales person was a very polite person indeed, however at times made me very uncomfortable. Pushing things on me that I did not want, telling me that you don't want this your better off with that. Believe it or not I wanted an Atlas and I was told it was probably to expensive for me. Now at this time the sales person wasn't even aware of my budget, so who are they to dictate to me what I can and can not afford!!! After the purchase and pick up of the Tiguan, it wasn't long after that things started to happen. And I also realized there was a fare bit of information that was not passed down to me about the Tiguan that I had to learn for myself, simple basic information that any sales person should immediately tell you. 2) I have had nothing but computer and electrical problems with the Tiguan. The driver assist will come on whenever it wants and actually slows me down almost causing accidents, the info screen has a mind of it's own, it will turn on and off and change settings and radio stations all on it's own. I went to lower the back seat's using the pull handle's in the boot and the left handle broke right of in my hand and the wire was pulled out. The sales person never told me when they showed me this feature that the pull straps on the side of the back seats themselves actually work to put the seats down, they told me that the pull straps on the side of the seats were to put the back seats in there upright position again. And now believe it or not the tranny is slipping, this started the other day. must tell them this today. which brings me to number 3. 3) Service Department. I have never seen such a group of unhappy, unfeeling and uncaring people before. Stone cold look on there faces with no expressions what so ever. Makes it really uncomfortable. But then again I'm not the happiest person in the world either, so tit for tat I guess. I know the part for my info screen is there they told me and they left a message asking me to call them back to book an appointment to get the Tiguan in which I did. That was three weeks ago and No one has returned my call. Now remember when I wrote about the back seat latch breaking off in my hand. Well I got so pissed off I drove down to the service department at Taylor Creek VW and expressed in my anger out loud just how frustrated I really was. Now I'm assuming it was the head of the service department that came to speak with me and my son who was with me at the time to diffuse what I was escalating (yes I said what I was escalating / I'm on permanent disability due to severe mental health) The gentleman speaking with my son and I helped I would say the best he could but made me think that what I was telling him was no fault of others but my own. I had even explained to him about the vehicles computer system turning on the ACC while I was on the highway and slowing me down from 105kmh to 79kmh with other vehicles behind me almost becoming a permanent fixture to back end. At that time it had only happened the one time, it has now happened a few more times since then. I had purchased a very good extended warranty which includes a rental vehicle. I figured that the service advisors would have pulled the vehicle off the road and provided me with a rental until such time the computer issue and all were figured out??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Never again will I purchase a WV and will most likely take a serious hit on the negative equity scale when I trade it for a Ford. And as for the staff at VW who read these reviews please do not respond to me with your usual "I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused but our staff isn't to blame etc, etc, etc" Take ownership with the fact you all sold me a lemon and for the blatant disregard for the SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THE OTHE MOTORISTS!!!!!!!!!!!! I could hear parts banging around under the car as we drove over bumps. 6 hours after I dropped my car off, they call me telling me I need $2,000.00 of work done and there's no way it passed a safety 36 days ago. One of the parts he said it needed was just replaced 2 months ago. (passenger lower control arm and bushing). Weird, HYUNDAI did a safety on it and everything was fine. He quoted me on the phone 800$ for the work but when I show up, the quote on paper is $2,000.00. I was upset of course and he asked me to never come back to his establishment again. While waiting, I looked at one of the cars that I've had my eye on to purchase for some time. WOW - price was a lot less than I expected! The representative for Enterprise was at his desk on time, and processed us quickly and efficiently. As a whole, I felt comfortable in this dealership.
