I brought my 2016 Audi S5 to Canadian Tire Poco, to have my coolant checked, as it seemed to be low. They found the lines were fine, but the pump was leaking. They tried a non-Audi part first, but found the part didn't fit perfect, and would likely fail soon. They charged me an extra $100 for the part (I was expecting much more), and got it from Audi the same day. Overall, I was very impressed with the service, the communication and the price. I had another price from another automotive shop that was nearly double more than what I paid. I have found my new automotive shop! read more

Went to the auto service for a 2 hour repair on a 200 dollar part and was charged 860 dollars for "labor" absolutely ridiculous. Tried to get them to take anything off and the "best" they could do was less than 100 dollars? absolute joke of an auto center. Total was over 1300 dollars for a small simple repair that probably took less than 2 hours to do. Took advantage of my old mother for money and the guy at the counter basically just fought over the fact we were wrong the entire time and there was "nothing" else they could do or take off any labor costs. The port coquitlam store did not indicate on the receipt that they would not be taking refunds on Christmas items. I specifically asked because I was unsure what I wanted and didn't want and I was told 30 days. I'm told another franchise is taking refunds so now I need to drive further to get a refund. There should be more uniformity in policies and better staff training so incorrect information isn't being provided. I get that some people are essentially renting seasonal items but I feel that stores like Costco, Home depot and Walmart would rather prioritize good customer service than try to pinch pennies at the expense of the honest customers. Every time I stop by this particular CT, I am sorry I did. No one around- when you would like. But plenty of warnings at the front door inferring that you are being watched, NO backpacks (you just might put your backpack on the floor, unzipper it, and throw in a wrench or kitchen utensil). But I'm presuming you can walk in with a large unzippered carryall handbag and you are ok. Yesterday I grimly set down my 3 articles at the self check out, and when I put my card against the pay machine... a camera directly over the machine was showing my face. How intrusive and rude. I took my car for Uber/Lyft inspection on March 30th, 2023. My car is 1 year old and I know my car had no issues and Canadian Tire inspector Mr. P.S. came back with alignment issue saying the front toes are a bit off and if I do not do the alignment, they will fail the inspection and I won't be able to drive with Uber/Lyft. I was trying to explain that there is no issue with alignment and they are just trying to make extra $$$, Mr. P.S. got angry and used the F*** word with me and was very unprofessional. I had to pay an extra $148.00 for doing the alignment and it took him around 20 minutes to make the report and the report seems to be manually modified. I am really disappointed the way I was treated and the extra $$$ they charged me for something that I wasn't supposed to be charged. I take one of my cars there for service and we bought our winter tires from there and still, they scam their customers. read more

Really poor service; I bought a canopy for camping but it was not protecting us from water during heavy rain. Store manager did not accept to return it because it was used and smelled smoke from campfire. In my opinion the canopy was not appropriate for camping and it should have been returned to the manufacturer not to be put back on the shelf. Be aware if you are buying something for the first time hoping to return it if it is not good then Canadian Tire is not the right place. They do not stand behind their products. read more

This review is about that woman who works Canadian tire poco branch I dealt just now. So my 2 kids weren't running around ages 3-6 at all but they were arguing about a toy. A costumer didn't see my daughter as she is a small kid, accidentally tripped on her and rammed my 3 year old to the floor. She started crying but I told my 3 year old that it's okay as it's an accident. I apologized to the costumer and It was fine until this judgemental woman who works there (aged 45-50, tall, blonde curly hair, who works there, I believe she's European ) approached me told me to Watch my kids?! Port Coquitlam store. Horrible customer service. I went in to buy a fishing reel, but because it was locked in their glass cabinet, I needed an employee to unlock. I wandered around the entire are for 20 minutes looking for someone to help me. I was not the only one as other customer were also in need of help. I went up to the customers service desk twice to ask for help in the fishing department. Both times I was told an employee will meet me there. Another 25 minutes passed before I walked out of the store. Total time wasted 45 minutes. No wonder more and more people are turning to online shopping with service like that. read more

This place is atrociously insane, staff are always NOT anywhere when you need service. If you are lucky to find one they send you to the wrong aisle. If they don't know best to say they are not sure or use the talkie to ask another staff. It has happened to us several times. It's a shame that they DON'T make an effort to improve customer service. I've had a terrible experience at the Canadian Tire in Squamish a few years back, and had vowed for a long time to never venture back into a CT store ever again. My boyfriends experience at this new store has changed that, for the better. We recently purchased a couple of fishing rods from this store to take part in this chillin' pastime. Being novice fisher people, we weren't too sure what to buy, so we went with out guts. I got a Roddy Lights rod, that spun wicked Disco type colours from the reel. Practical for catching dinner? Maybe not so much, but it definitely had personality; just like it owner. Needless to say, I was very bummed when the nubby fell off the handle during a cast on the long weekend. Boyfriends rod broke as well, and after my experience at a previous CT left me worried we'd get the shaft when it came to returning the broken rods. Fast forward to today, and a happy boyfriend knowing that not only did he get his money back for both rods, they took the extra mile to search the system, and find the transaction without his receipt (he's a boy - they sometimes throw these things out)....He said the return was painless, friendly, and accommodating. This is a plus for us....As we narrow down the bog box stores we shop at, it's good to know there is still one we can rely on. June 5th UPDATE Today I went in for an oil change at the Express Bays. The excellent customer service continues, as I pay what I was told I'd pay, got all my fluids topped off, and wasn't lead down a wrong path. I asked for an oil change, and that's what I got. Potential Uber and Lyft drivers DO NOT take your vehicle to Canadian Tire for your commercial vehicle inspections!! They will try and scam you into having to pay another $128 dollars to get your wheels aligned even though they are perfectly fine. If you don't pay for it, they will just fail your inspection and then you are out the $80 you paid for it. I took my car elsewhere and they said my alignment was perfectly fine. BEWARE!!! Like any other Canadian tire, their customer service is abysmal. I would rather go to any other place than here. I have been here a few times, and they don't use any cashiers. They only have the self check out line open. So if you don't like self check out, you lose. Would it cost you that much to keep a cashier working, for the people who like that convenience? The last straw for me was when I bought a 30 foot ladder. I walked it to the front of the store, and had to do the self check out. Right beside at customer service were two employees laughing and having a good time, while I struggled to balance the stupid ladder, than attempt to pay on gift card + debit. Luckily the girl working the self check out was super helpful. But still... making a customer with a large item do that, while employees are just taking a piss two steps away. Hope the manager gets a clue, and starts to instill some customer service in this team and opens up some cashiers. I will goto Walmart and Homedepot before this place, any day. read more

We were charged for a $60 tire sensor that was never installed. I waited for 40min for the service staff who said that they would get to me immediately to tell me that. Terrible service both customer service and technical service. Competency severely in question. Would I trust them with my safety re: vehicle repairs. Take your car somewhere else. read more

Two recent experiences: -Tried to call to set up an auto service appointment. Nobody answers the phone and every 15 seconds the automatic phone system asks me to enter my extension. I press "2" for auto service, get music, and 15 seconds later, the same question. Never got through. -Was there a few weeks ago and ended up buying a 99 cent floor hockey ball. Because there was no bar code on it, cashier held up the line while someone from sporting goods could find one. Ridiculous. This is why I shop the Wal-Mart which is right across the street from them. I'll have to take my car somewhere else to be serviced since I can't set up an appointment. read more

Their customer service in the Parts department gets a zero rating! Had to purchase a battery and there was 1 guy working the counter and the lineup was 10 deep for customers. Lots of employees seemed to be walking behind the counter but not one stopping to help. I work at a local retailer and this would never happen there, customers are number 1 and making sure they have minimal wait times are a priority. Get some employees! Or at least teach your wandering employees to step up to help customers waiting in lines. Oil Change gone good. Went through the express Lube for an oil change the other day. Because it was not busy they let me out of the car to take care of some shopping in the store which saved me a few mins. When the Oil Change was done they told me that they had to take the skid plate off my car to get to the filter. Next time there would be an additional cost for that but this time it was free because that was not something they highlighted at the start. I felt that was very honest. Great work. In and out quickly. Excellent Oil Change cost was exactly what they quoted me. They checked over tire pressure and other stuff as well. No attempt to up-sell me on items I didn't need which I really appreciated. read more

We had to have our motorhome inspected after importing it into Canada. Canadian Tire is their designated inspection agency. After receiving the paperwork and going to this outlet we were told that we didn't have the correct paperwork even though it was what Canada Customs gave us. They would not do the inspection. We had to return to the Canada Customs, take time from work only to have CBSA question why it wasn't acceptable, they had never heard of this before. We filled out a form exactly the same as the one issued to us the day before but CT insisted it had to be on a 14" form and had it stamped. We had to go back to ICBC and get more insurance also. Upon returning to CT with 2 identical forms the inspection was completed in roughly 2 1/2 minutes and $35.00 later. What did they inspect? VIN number only. read more

canadian tire 2125 hawkins st, port coquitlam, bc, canada edit your review 2.2 I want future customers to know the truth and facts regarding there auto department.i had a vehicle shipped from Ontario and had to have my vehicle inspected for out of province rules and regulations to meet BC standards. i had brand new rotors installed a year prior and the car was parked not driven and stored indoors the general manager and the mechanic advised me these brand new rotors needed to be machined and explained and i had advised them this is not needed but they persisted to advise me that it would not pass inspection and causes friction. please keep in mind the minor corrosion was on the inside collar part of the rotors not where the brake pad touches which was b.s story to make money at $120.00 dollars brand new rotors. i then called the owner and he wasn't any better at resolving the issue of a customer.the auto owner dept was saying it would have costed more and we didn't charge a half hour labor where installing new rotor's we would have charged a half hour labor b.s either way you have to spend a half hour labor removing the rotor's to machine them what a joke.there was no problem with the rotor itself. they NEVER ADVISED THE CUSTOMER THAT ROTOR'S WERE ON SALE THAT WEEK. MISALIGNED AND MISDIRECTED THE CONSUMER. I wanted my money back because i went to further investigate with 2 other experts in inspection and they advised me it was not needed for a little corrosion on the inside of the rotor very much normal wear on all rotors,even after a couple of months and there was no vibrating when braking. Canadian tire auto department said it was Victoria standards on inspection which i will be contacting on Monday to see what their specs are in passing a vehicle inspection, regarding the front brakes. Friction is what they had written on the work order well guess what the friction is suppose to allow the brake to stop a brake pad will cause some friction lol. when i brought this up to the owner he replied and said well they didn't put the details down, on the work order, i didn't buy his lie. i will never go to Canadian tire to get my vehicle repaired or even shop in their stores. their not honest and justify their actions through fancy words without meaning or. they lost a customer for life how does that work for you Canadian tire it's a lose/lose situation for your customers where it should be a win/win outcome including the customer's, part 2 Monday 22/14 i went to Canadian tire to get a full detail written on the work order today and asked to talk to the owner and he just put machined on the work order beside the word friction what a joke he really underestimated my intelligence.i stated to him how can you put that on this work order when last Friday you stated" you had no knowledge in automotive,he replies and states i talked to the mechanic and i'm the owner . well first of all it is hearsay 3rd party talking and he is not a CERTIFIED AUTO INSPECTOR,never signed the change in his added word on the work order. again to pacify me,i got very upset with him at this point and called him an a-hole for being so dishonest basically,i then proceeded to automotive to have details written on the work order and he kicked me out of the store in a mean way and i left.they didn't even have the measurements prior and after regarding rotors. now the brand new rotors are thinner because they were put on a lathe to resurface brand new ones what a rip off,i was also advised by and expert that if i'm going at high speeds and brake suddenly it will warp the rotors bc they are now thinned by machining them.Which can easily warp at high speeds braking which can become a danger. read more

Horrible Customer Service!! Waited over an hour for tires that I had pre-ordered an paid for, they couldn't find the order but said they were just waiting for staff to be available. After an hour and a half of waiting he finally said we can't find the tires you will have to go to another store tomorrow. The staff are so unorganized and rude. WILL NEVER GO HERE FOR TIRES AGAIN!! went in to get a squealing belt replaced. said it would cost me $230, i laughed and said no thanks ill do it myself. they advised against this, because it is "tricky". so i bought the haynes book for my car , bought the belt for $30 had the belt replaced in 20 minutes. and i have no car exp. so they wanted to charge me 200 dollars in labor for something that i could replace with no exp in 20 mins read more

I had the brakes replaced on a BMW 320 in January 2013 at Canadian Tire and upon review of the bill versus the previous brake service by the Dealer determined the cost was similar if not slightly higher at Canadian Tire. The difference was the labour hours which for the front for example was 1.8 hours at Canadian Tire versus 1.2 Hours at the Dealer. After 12,000 km by August 2013 the brake service light came on indicating the pads required replacement. To look at the brakes to determine whether the pad wear would be covered by warranty the store wanted a fee of $29.80 which would be credited against labour for the repairs. Based on the labour charges it would be less expensive to have the Dealer perform any repairs therefore I did not take the car back to Canadian Tire. The previous set of pads installed by the Dealer lasted 29,000 km as did the set before (the car has 190,000 km). If covered by warranty, only the brake pads which were $70 would be replaced at no charge. There is still the labour, shop charges and taxes payable. MY ADVICE: GO TO THE DEALER THIS ADVENTURE WAS EXPENSIVE WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE BRAKES LASTED ONLY 12,000 km read more
