I took Cadilac ESV into the service department. they did perfect work to fix the oil leaks and worked with me to help keep it affordable. Jason really helped keep my mind at ease and was honest from the start. The main GMC mechanic (I think his name was Chris) was very honest and walked me through the issues and showed me the defective parts on the vehicle. Also got all the parts delivered in a timely manner. I will be using them for all my automotive issues moving forward. Highly recommended for all GMC products. thank you so much guys! read more

Don't take your vehicle to Canadian tire. My son save up enough money to buy his first vehicle. It needed $3000 in repairs which we agreed to get done. The repair was never fixed correctly. We ended up taking the vehicle to a different shop and found out that the oil pump they put it was either damaged when they out it in, or never put in a new one at all. It caused substantial damage to the vehicle from the large amount of oil spewing EVERYWHERE, and we are not stuck with a $4900 repair due to the damage from the oil. After confronting Canadian Tire we were told, too bad, so sad. Have a nice day. We were also informed by the second shop, that they had to redo another vehicle repairs at the same Canadian tire. I saw a BBQ online and wanted to see it in person. They didn't have it set up in store but had other models. A man came over and helped me with some information as well as gave me some recommendations based on what I was looking for. I ended up buying a BBQ. I went to pay for it and he said he would meet me at the loading dock to help me carry it. I met him at the dock with my car and then instead of me helping him, he brought another employee with him. They loaded it in my car and we're so kind. Very friendly and helpful staff at this location! Will be back for more items. read more

I am so grateful to the mechanics and staff at the auto centre at the Canadian tire in Cochrane - my engine light went on while I was there this past August 2024 and I went there to see if it was anything major. Despite not having any appointment they were kind enough to do a test right away and discovered it was my altinator (sp?) - I was supposed to be travelling to BC the next day and wondered if it would be possible to fix it that day - they were busy but kindly said they could find a way to fit it in. However when checking for parts it turned out there was a nation wide shortage! Anthony did some great ground work trying to phone several vendors but unfortunately none had any but did provide another number I could follow up with. I did, but they also did not have one. I decided to keep calling various places and through that process was referred by a dealership to a source for one. I was able to go and get it, but then as I was driving back with it my car shut down a block away from the Canadian tire! I was blocking traffic and almost got locked in as the car was completely shutting down. I was able to get out and ran to the autocentre and a mechanic was able to come figure out what to do and he drive it to the autocentre - they were still able to fix it that day, despite it now being later as it took 1.5 hours to find and go and get the part, plus bail me out of that jam! It was quite the day, but all of the staff went above and beyond to help me with no notice, and were so kind and professional. I was able to drive to BC the next day and it has been running perfectly since. I am so grateful to them and would highly recommend this location! They really do care and I can see they really are trying their best. I will be going back to this location if I ever need service for sure. Thank you again so much, you guys rock!! read more

Negligence from a Canadian Tire auto center nearly caused an accident. Thankfully none occurred but the experience caused trauma ... Do you think compensation should be given; and if so, how much? FYI - they have now retracted their last $450 offer. On a weekend a few months ago, my wife and I were running an errand and while driving into #Cochrane, AB from #Calgary, #AB our vehicle had mechanical issues. With nothing much open due to restrictions, and the day of the week, we were able to locate a #CanadianTire #servicecenter a few blocks away and slowly drove it there. It was overheating and I noticed a belt hanging under the undercarriage so assumed it to be a minor fix by replacing the belt; I have zero mechanical aptitudes and know from past friends' experiences long long ago that I should not have gone to #CandianTireServiceCenter for #autorepair but I figured their ability and reputation would have gotten better in the last 10-20 years. #WOW, was I wrong! The quote that I had in order for it to be fixed was about $925 (yikes, but what am I to do?!), on pick-up it was about $945 because a "part was forgotten to be added" (fine). Now the #FUN part, as I was on the highway coming back into Calgary (thankfully alone) while passing a semi-truck, my vehicle's hood popped up and started rumbling as if it was going to open! #peepee #poopoo My choice if it had opened is either to crash into the massive truck on my right or the ditch that divides the highway on my left. I was able to slow down and get over to the side of the road safely but I am sure that I turned 3 shades of white and literally have not been so scared driving in my 25 years of doing so. I pushed down the hood which sounded like it was locked and continued just outside of the city limits. As I approached the speed limit inside the city limits, again the hood popped open and I then had to get over 3 lanes of traffic to get to #safety. I opened the hood and slammed it down, and then checked it again. It was noticed by me that the hood was not locking at all. I called the store and blasted them, I was shaking so bad ... I was actually calmer when I went through a #surprise open-heart surgery 3-years ago; MY mechanical valve was working overtime! The end result from the calls and then me following up with them an hour later was that they had me towed to the closest CT location (in Calgary) who assessed that a bar over the radiator was not secured properly at the first #repairshop who caused this issue (written on my service receipt) ... so the prior mechanic did #faultywork. I was back and forth with CT's home office who offered me 1/2 of my bill as compensation. Oh, they also covered the less than $200 towing bill which was nice of them. Again, wow. This is #myworth for the #mentalstress I have nearly every time I want to drive because it pops in my head? So, do you think there should be any #compensation? We went here on Black Friday because they were the only store within a 45 minute radius of us that had decent levels of inventory for the 2 items we were looking for. Even drove through a snow storm from Airdrie and I am glad we did... Once we got to the store, from the minute we walked in there was friendly, knowledgeable staff. We found the tv we were looking for pretty quickly, but the other item was fairly elusive and several staff members attempted to help us, but misunderstood what we were looking for (all had good intentions) until the GM, Chris, came along and from there our lives got much easier. He walked us to the entry vestibule where there was 2 electric fireplaces/ tv stands and helped us make a decision between the two. Because these were a special item, not normally stocked, they were not set up for display. He advised us that if when we got it home and decided it wasn't for us we could make a return within their guidelines. Chris arranged for a store Associate to assist us with loading our purchases into our truck. Summary: The store was clean and organized, there was plenty of stock and staff was ultra friendly and helpful. Thank you for restoring my faith in Canadian Tire! read more

Zero rating. Purchased a wood lathe for my husband for Christmas. He finally got to use it and within an hour it quit working. No return you have to call repair shops for a limited 3 year warranty. Who has time to run around doing stuff like that when you work full time? Will not purchase tools from this establishment again! I feel that during covid these large box stores are taking advantage of customers more and more. read more

I wouldn't make any big purchases here, it is a buyer beware operation. It is too bad that a local store is like this but it is what it is.

Business is poorly run. No one seems to know where anything is apart from a couple employees. Not enough employees either. Can never find anyone when you need help. Only ever one or two checkouts are open when they should all be open. The business is run by cheapskates. Go to Home Hardware around the corner and get great, friendly service. read more
