My introduction to this franchise occurred when Winnipeg got its first store on Donald Street, at Ellice Avenue, when I lived in the city. It's still there! It was raining. I decided to hop in my rental vehicle and find a closer parking spot to the store. I didn't have an umbrella. I found a spot steps away and dashed into the store. It was Canada Day. I saw a lot of festive merchandise, from water bottles, to tank tops. I was sporting a Canada cap. It kept my head dry. I liked the clearance section. This store had a lot of great deals. With a brisk wind on the coolest day during my vacation, I needed something to keep me warm while taking in the Canada Day celebrations later on in the evening. I found a lightweight long-sleeved top with a floral pattern for $5. It was roomy to wear on top of my t-shirt and the sleeves were the perfect length. Such a steal! I was happy. I liked the bucket hats at this store. I was content with my cap that I didn't get one. The grocery section was great. I loved looking at bagged apples and lemons, and a variety of baked goods. I went to the beverages section. A six-pack of bottled Coke zero was on sale. Sold! This store had gigantic Squishmallows. They were cute, but one would fit my entire luggage if I didn't compress it down. At the checkout, I got Lawrence. He was competent and efficient. He asked me if I needed a bag. I declined and said that I was good. I paid with a credit card. My items were just over $10. Insane! I wore my long-sleeved top when I was taking in the Canada Day celebrations from roughly 6 pm till 9 pm in an open stadium. It kept me warm and it was comfy to wear. I liked shopping at this store. There is a large selection of organic products and very large international foods area covering many ethnic groups. As a one-stop shopping store is complemented by a pharmacy, Liquor Mart, photo studio. Checkout is reasonably quick and staff are helpful in this busy environment. Pricing is average with many advanced specials. A good choice for weekly shopping!

It was nice to see one at this mall. If you expect this Winners to be an outlet version of the store, it's not the case. It's more a convenient way to access a Winners in an air-conditioned mall with shoppers looking for a deal by default. It is a nice Winners. I focused my attention on housewares and phone accessories. This store has an extremely diverse set of drinkware. If you want blingy glasses with rainbows on them, you can find a set here. If you are looking for huge tumblers to bring water or whatever you'd like to consume everywhere and stay hydrated, there is one for you. I like looking at phone accessories. From car mounts for your phone, to USB C cables, I love checking out what's out there. I am a PopSockets person. It's easier for me to take photos with it and hold my phone in general. I ended up getting a couple of them here. One was an enamel watermelon. It would go well with my watermelon t-shirt that I had just bought and my stuffing myself with watermelon all summer. The other one had smiling flowers on it. The kitchen gadgets were great here. I saw everything from butterfly moulds to garlic presses. There was a Mr Men mug set that was adorable. This store also has a lot of Hello Kitty items, from storage containers, to a chopstick-plate set. I went to pay for my items at the checkout. The woman there was pleasant. I had my TJX Style+ barcode scanned from my phone. I then paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. I thanked the woman and placed my items in my bag. I was done shopping at this mall after at least a couple of hours, so I headed to my rental vehicle and went to fetch dinner. I liked shopping at this Winners. I can barely cover my trip to the store let alone support the 8 regular beggars you refuse to deal with. I've seen them following people to their cars and act threatening (250 pound man repeatedly and loudly asking for change) to your customers. No other Walmart has this issue! Why do you not want to deal with a potential safety issue for your customers? I rather drive to another location than shop here!

You are protected from the elements when the temperature swings thirty degrees in either direction from zero. -30°C? You are safe from having your eyelashes freeze over. 30°C? It was what I had experienced while in the city. This mall was nicely air-conditioned and perfect to hibernate against hot, humid conditions. The mix of stores made me happy. Old Navy. GAP Factory. Winners. Claire's. Kernels - Baskin-Robbins. Skechers. Danier. Starbucks. Urban Treasures. Chatime. Lindt. I was perfectly content shopping at these places. Some are your regular businesses at any mall, such as Chatime and Starbucks. Winners has decent prices already. Old Navy, GAP Factory, and Lindt had deals that you'd expect from an outlet. The deals were fabulous. If you are a visitor, you can get a discount when you shop at various stores by dropping by Guest Services. The problem that I encountered was that they ask for ID. I dropped by to shop with a credit card and me. This woman at the counter would not accept photos of my driver's licence, both front and back, with my mugshot, on my phone. I didn't feel like grabbing my ID from the glove compartment of my rental vehicle and heading back to save maybe a couple of dollars on my great deals. Some stores are separate from the mall, but are still a part of it. Krispy Kreme is an example. I don't mind it because it has a drive-thru. There's also an IHOP, which is nice not doing a trip over the border to get your pancake fix. I spent my last full day in Winnipeg at this mall for a few hours. I enjoyed it. I used the washroom before I left. It was fancy and clean. There was plenty of parking. Each entrance is numbered, which is helpful. Maybe this review is influenced by the fact I've been to many other outlet malls that have more variety, but I definitely felt underwhelmed after shopping here. The location itself isn't very ideal, as the two major streets are high traffic, so getting here isn't exactly convenient. The mall bills itself as an outlet mall, but I honestly saw very few outlet prices. There were barely any sales or deals in all the places I went to. Definitely disappointing. The place is huge though, and the mall design is extremely open concept, plus the washrooms are really neat. That's about all the positives I can say unfortunately; Polo Park has better options in my opinion if you're looking for clothing.

I ended up getting a Cookie Monster plushie that screamed cute. The grocery section was nice. The produce looked great. I loved the variety of apples in bags. The cases of ramen made me happy. You know you're in Winnipeg when you can get a Winnipeg Jets zamboni coin bank. It was cool to see. I almost got one. This store was different. It had a purified water centre in the back of the store. It was busy! I paid for my items at a self-checkout kiosk. I had no problem entering my phone number associated with my VIP rewards, scanning my items, and paying for them with a credit card. The transaction went smoothly. What I found weird was seeing all the cheap clothing as I exited the store. Shouldn't it be after you enter the store?! If you need a pay phone, there's an MTS one just before you exit the store. For the longest time, I had heard about permanent jewellery and wanted to get a permanent bracelet…read more The concept of not taking it off and on with an uncooperative clasp sounded great to me. The permanent part is a bit misleading. Permanent means that instead of having a clasp that you can remove and wear the jewellery at any time, you have the bracelet chain welded together, without a clasp. You are wearing the piece until you are tired of it and need to an expert to remove the welding, and in turn, the bracelet. I was at Polo Park Shopping Centre and saw Glam Bar Bazaar. It had permanent bracelets. I walked into the store to check them out. My original thought was to get a silver bracelet with an evil eye charm. I had a nice woman helping me out. She pointed out two evil eye charms that I frankly did not like. Instead, I got a purple gemstone, which was my original plan until my evil eye bracelet broke a few months ago. Originally, she asked if it was my birthstone. I just wanted a purple one and not a ruby one, which is my actual birthstone. The larger gemstones had gold around them. I'm a silver person, so my silver chain needed a purple gemstone with silver around it. I got a smaller one, but it works nicely with the silver bracelet that I got. This woman was great putting everything together. She measured the bracelet chain around my wrist. The bracelet should be too loose around your wrist. She said that it stretches in a couple of days. Interesting. She added my purple gemstone charm to the bracelet. She has a welding machine that does a quick peep to weld the chain. You don't feel a thing. She has steady hands and a lot of skill. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I like my new permanent bracelet. The purple charm is nice with the silver chain. It's subtle and lightweight. It's dainty and pretty. I like it. When I walked out of the store, four people entered it. I guess I'm a magnet for sales... haha! This store also has some cute sneaker keychains, earrings, and more. It's on the first floor of the mall, across from SoftMoc. I had a great experience. I'd return for more permanent jewellery needs. (250)
