A group of 4 of us were returning to home in Cumberland on a 5 day adventure on the C&O These are very nice luxury cabins. They have a nice delivery menu for fuel. In the morning it is a short ride to PIE. And other breakfast treats. At sweets and Eats Bakery A very welcome stop on the C&O Canal. Journey .

Perfect place to stay while you bike the C&O canal. Not fancy, but clean, convenient and comfortable! We stayed 4 friends in Cabin #1.

We had the pleasure of staying at Eagle's Nest as organizers for our motorhome rally in May 2019…read more Paul was wonderful in helping plan the rally, and throughout the course of the event. We found all the staff at Eagle's Nest to be very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We had about 15 rigs, and rented one cabin. Paul placed us in sites very near each other, and close to the pavilion which perfectly met our needs for the event. The pavilion near the creek, with electricity, lighting, a nearby restroom, and running water, was a great set-up for our group meetings and meals. Paul even set up a fire ring near the pavilion for our evening campfire and music. The camp facilities were very clean and level, with full services at each site. The restaurant on site (Fireside Inn) has an extensive menu. Try the cauliflower soup ... it is FABULOUS. Eagles Nest is conveniently located near Cumberland, MD - a great local tourism spot with museums, shops, restaurants, and a scenic railroad ride. The campground is still a work in progress and we look forward to going back to see how it is coming along. Paul has a great vision for further improvements and is working hard toward that end. With a mix of seasonal and transient residents, most in self-contained units, there is little need for public facilities. Some in our group might have preferred a public bathhouse (in future development plan), but the lack of a public bathhouse would not prevent our return. Happy trails ...

We had a great experience at Eagle's Nest September 2019, our 39th annual 'Rolling Thunder' rally. The camping, accommodations, food and entertainment were some of the best we have enjoyed. I enjoyed flyfishing on Patterson Creek, on the banks of which I pitched my tent. The Club had a great time and we will surely return in the future. Thanks Paul, et. al.! John T. We visited mid week so it was very quiet which was fine. Our second time adventuring to a place that was clothing optional. Now the pool was great! Super clean. Mandatory no clothes in the pool. The cameras were bit bothersome. I was completely unaware but I'll own that I'm oblivious in new environments so if someone spoke of them I don't recall but anyways we enjoyed the pool! Later on having some fun in the room and I'm laying on the bed which is right next to the door I mean right next to it! In all my glory on the bed I can hear people like whispering. Laughing. No big deal. Well when my door flung open and I have 3 people staring at me I was mortified. The whispering was them discussing the code which they had the code I had been given not sure if it was a universal one or not. The key pass were being issues so they only did codes no key! Anyways two woman and a man came walking in. They left very very quickly! We barricaded the door so we could sleep and high tailed it out in the morning. Aside from that mishap which is pretty unnerving to me. More precautions and safe measures should be in place! So that's why I went with the 3 stars! Give it a try it may have just been a fluke situation!

The people are incredibly friendly and you feel like a regular the first time you come. The facilities are very well kept and the people there are always creating fun activities and things to do. There are also a variety of lodging options to fit any preference or budget level. It would be nice if there was more as far as dining options since you are so far from any place to find food. We attended last before the "Bare Barn" reopened so perhaps this has improved, but the last time we were there it was just the poolside concession.

Trails are not properly marked. 3/4 of the markers were laying on ground or completely missing. The map doesn't help a bit. We ended up coming onto the gun range accidentally. They have all these rules, but there no enforcement. There was a group of about 10 people and they were riding double and most without helmets. And, lets talk about the junkyard heavy equipment, trucks and other junk, you drive by to get to the atv parking lot. Definitely wont be returning cor another ATV trip. Easy to get to, easy check in, the grounds are easily navigated. Super spacious camp sites that can fit anywhere between 1-5 vehicles with some maneuvering. For a resupply trip you're less than 25-30 minutes from Winchester. What to expect: - Dirt and gravel roads with a few potholes, but most vehicles should have no trouble getting around - Firewood is an extra charge; provided by the hosts - If you're looking to use the range, it would probably be best to have an SUV or truck with a bit more clearance and AWD - The range has a decent amount of stationary targets at varying ranges, including steel targets Bonus: We were treated by Katie the German Short-haired Pointer a couple times. She's the sweetest as long as you treat her with respect and be aware of her boundaries.
