The falls did not disappoint! The falls is within Namadgi National Park, and is said to be one of the tallest waterfalls in Australia, with a drop of over 50 meters. The car park has space for probably 10 or so cars, and the trailhead has bathrooms and a few picnic tables as well. The hike, though you can't really call it that, takes about 5 minutes from the parking area and comprises stone and metal-grate stairs down to an overlook midway down the falls. The observation area is fantastically close to the falls, close enough to get a light misting of water and the very loud sound of powerfully rushing water. There's not really an easier hike in the world, as long as you can handle a few flights of stairs. I wished there was a bit more effort required, frankly. Well worth it for the pretty views, both on the walk and on the drive, and worth a return journey or two.

I go and work out there early in the morning and i've never seen a staff member during my session, though they are super friendly when I have seen them. Don't worry, their hours are posted and very visible. It's basically a gym-express. It has a little bit of everything and they do a lot with the small space they take up, but can't compete with a full-size gym. Basically one of every machine so if you go during peak time, you'll find it hard to get a workout in. Being from America, I'm used to having a locker room with showers, steam rooms, etc. This place has a common area with cubby holes and you put your things there, then you can have a shower. I guess the crime rate here is really low? lol... Americans have no shame. Your things are sitting in the middle of a room filled with people and your belongings will definitely disappear haha. I have to come here because of work and I do think it's a great gym for what it's for. Come early or late when you have the place to yourself and it'll be a great value for the money. Just know what you're doing and prob bring a partner so you don't hurt yourself. No one will find you until the morning :)

The east side is nice. The south end has some nice options for food and drinks. The west is pretty undeveloped, yet not natural looking. A bit more effort in landscaping or trying to give it that natural feel would make a huge difference. Putting in some fresh bike lanes / walking paths would help too. The current ones are old and look neglected.

The Manuka Swimming Pool is an outdoor open air 30M swimming pool with a few lanes for lap swimming. It has nice art deco architecture and always a very relaxed feel to it. I used to go here several times a week and since I prefer breaststrokes or freestyle it ended up with me having a great suntan on my back only. Going here was a great way to feel better during some stressful work schedules.

My gripe is with the cafe inside, the food has always been average, however on my last visit, I had a coffee there and by midnight I developed symptoms of food poisoning. This followed with the worst stomach pains I'd ever had in my life, 5 counts of vomiting, headaches, and chills. My sickness lasted nearly 12 hours and I was lucky that it wasn't worse. But I deduced it was food poisoning from this place because it was the one drink my partner didn't have that day and we ate everything else together. As I look back on the day I was there last, I remember the floors were filthy with crumbs and trash. The tables looked like they'd never been wiped (or cleared of their dishes for hours) and the flies were horrendous, constantly swatting them away, buzzing in my ear, landing on my hand while I was drinking my coffee. This level of unsanitary will always reflect the kitchen of an establishment. Enjoy the grounds but don't eat here.

The club offers a variety of membership options, I opted for the gym and pool membership. I am recently relocated from the U.S. and I have to say that I am a bit surprised how much gyms in the area charge, especially when you consider that most are not 24 hours and have outdated equipment. This gym is no exception, they have an odd mix of very new equipment which is very clean and very old equipment, which is quite grungy. The restroom, shower and changing facilities for both the gym and pool are in desperate need of remodel or at very minimum commercial grade cleaning. The same could be said for the pool itself. That all having been said, I don't want to give the impression that the facilities are unhygienic as I am sure they are clean. They simply look dirty and worn. As for the variety of equipment, they certainly seem to have everything one could want or need, memberships often include classes and the fees are competitive with other local establishments. Although this location is not 24 hours, many memberships provide access to other 24 hour locations if you are looking for more flexibility in the schedule. I simply wish locals would stop settling for substandard quality at prestige pricing for various services such as this.
