Planning a wedding is crazy enough and finding a photographer to capture those precious moments is an important factor. Then I watched her little introduction video and just automatically fell in love! We met up with her for a yummy breakfast...and it was set...we could cross one extra thing off our wedding to do list! Photographer....CHECK! We did an engagement session with Candice and it was actually pretty fun! I'm not one who likes to take pictures, but Candice made it feel comfortable and we had lots of laughs. My husband and I hired Candice to take our portraits for our 1 year anniversary, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! She was very prompt in getting back to us with every email, and was able to get us our images incredibly fast considering her busy schedule. She spent 3 hours taking shots of us and made us feel very comfortable. At the end of the shoot we felt like we had a friend taking our photos, not just a hired photographer :) All that being said, none of it would've mattered if the shots weren't any good... but they were all beautiful! There's a part of me that doesn't want to write this review because the last thing I want is for Candice to suffer through someone else's version of crazy, but I owe this woman A LOT and I will be singing her praises for the rest of my life. So for the record, fiancé (now husband) and I aren't terribly adventurous or thrill seeking or anything like that. We're foodies and we like the beach and we like water... Initially, the plan for our engagement session was to go on a rowboat and look romantic and cute. That didn't work out (long story), so I decided I want to take pictures at a waterfall. I honestly don't know what I was thinking...I probably wasn't...but hey, I figured that people hike Eaton Canyon all the time...it can't be THAT bad, right?? Like...small children hike with their roller strolling-pushing parents on a regular basis!!! What I forgot to factor in: HEAVY props (guitar -- no strap, it broke) TWO vintage suitcases -- one filled with vintage cameras), HEAVY equipment (thank God she had an assistant (Jay) who was also a rock star in his own right!), and SLIPPERY RIVER ROCKS!!! If that isn't a recipe for crazy, I don't know what is!! But here's the thing --- Candice was SO down, SO chill, SO gung ho, and SO incredibly talented, that I *almost* didn't feel bad for running everyone through a literal gauntlet. um, OMG. can I say LOVE? love love LOVE!!! I was looking and looking and inquiring about photographers. I got tired. Then my neighbor told me, check out Candice (he was getting married and was using Candice, because his sister who got married years ago used Candice haha), so I checked out her website, and the style that I thought I wanted was thrown out the window and I fell in love with Candice's style. I love her simplicity, clean images with an air of romanticism. You can see the love in all the photos!!! So when I contacted her, she wanted to meet. We met over lunch and my goodness, she's amazingly tall!! LOVE IT! we chatted, she asked about us and we asked about her...and it was a done deal. She was sweet and funny and super adorable. How could I not want her be part of my day?! Throughout the whole process, Candice was available for questions, chats, emails, texts, anything. She is so organized and professional. She gives you advice and tips and expectations and lets you know exactly what to expect. I asked when was the latest we could take our engagement photos because I had wanted to lose some weight, she said a month before. She makes even the most awkward, photo hating people (me and hubs haha) look unawkward and amazing. I left the engagement loc to her and she picked a trail in Pasadena that we haven't been to. She brought along her equally adorable hubby who was so gracious and helpful that day! Candice made the shoot fun and easy...hopefully we weren't too hard of subjects for her. hahah. and, can I say, the photos came back super fast and AMAZING. I wanted to print every one of them out. Then she proceeds to send all the imaged to you on the cutest USB stick along with some printed photos. Wedding day comes (but not without a phone call and some emails and texts about what she needed, which is extremely helpful for me to get everything together so I didn't have to stress about it the day of...and she went through a whole list of what I wanted on the day of...so organized!!) and she was as easy as day one. She captured all the moments, and beautifully too, and got the imaged back A WEEK AFTER. This was amazing since she took SOO many pictures and since my friends and I are still on a wedding high and we were able to all enjoy it and recount all the moments!!! Everyone RAVED about Candice and about the photos and my bridesmaids wished they found Candice when they got married! :) I can't give enough compliments to Candice, her attitude, her professionalism and above all, her amazing talent. I found her by seeing a wedding she captured and I was obsessed!!! My parents and fiancé would show me other photographers and I would always say no I was completely obsessed with her photos and would not go with anyone else hahah. We met her and I loved her even more she is such a sweetheart and I felt like I already knew her I'm a shy person but I was just blabbing the whole time!
