The first I knew of this hsitory was that the gym I joined a few years ago was in a huge old red brick building at 89 Tingal Road, emblazoned on high in brickwork with the words 'R G Patterson & Co Pty Ltd, Produce Merchants'. Later I learned that Petterson's Produce still existed, further down Tingal Road at number 234 and have since been there many times for dog, cat, chook and turtle food, fertiliser and mulch. It's still like stepping back in time, the goods layed in a massive old tin and timber shed. The moblie dog wash pulls in every Saturday morning, the kids come in to get supplies for their budgies and it's a genuine piece of living history.
