Sarah is fantastic dog groomer, our Airedale Terrier loves going there, maybe she secretly gives him doggy treats, although he does love being pampered. read more

After 10 years of living in Dubai with her family she now lives with her family in Harpenden with her pack of 6 dogs (mostly rescues from Dubai) and a parrot. I strongly believe that an exercised dog is a happy dog, and I would love to have your beloved pet join me on my full 1 hour walks. They will have a wonderful time running around with their new found friends, and investigating all the countryside has to offer, and all in all it will add up to being a whole lot of fun for your furry best friend.

My dog likes to look fresh…read more Haha, not really. If it were up to her she'd let herself resemble Pigpen, would roll around in dirt and feces, and would generally look like she'd just been through a forage in the forest. However, as an apartment dog...this is not acceptable. She is a shorthaired lady, so she doesn't need the particular cut, but every few months she does need a deep down brushing, scrub and nail trim (something about trimming another beings nails terrifies me)...and thus we search for her spa. Easier said than done in East London! But I finally found Groom Dog City and I am quite pleased with the output. It's in a little shop near Haggerston/Columbia Market, they took my appointment quickly, the staff was very nice (both the owner and the assistant), and 45 minutes later I returned and was gifted back a dog that looked to be much cleaner and about 4 bales of hair lighter. Win. Reasonably priced too! For the works on my type of dog (again, no cutting/trimming required) for bath, eyes, ears, nails, brushdown -- about £25. I also left a tip because I have to believe this is thankless work giving spa treatments to animals who do not wish to be pampered. If they only knew! They even returned her to me with a little bow. I'll be visiting again next time she starts to resemble a vagabond... *appointments easily made online (he called me back right away). *there are a few shop dogs, word to the wise. I mentioned my dog wasn't so nice with other dogs she doesn't know, and they easily blocked them off. I'm sure my dog was still a nervous wreck, but there is a price to beauty and to coexisting with humans, Tillie.

They even have a garden to let the dogs play after grooming so they won't be caged like some places do. Sally and her team do a lovely job!…read more Having tried a few other places, we finally lucked out and found Sallywags. Our cocker spaniel always looked and smelled so beautiful after a visit! Even though she was always quite scared of being groomed, she loved Sally. Never were we criticised for leaving the time between a grooming too long, and what we asked for was always done. Other groomers just didn't do as good of a job - her fur would be uneven, or they'd not clean the ears properly. It was always around £35, and would take 2 or 3 hours to groom our cocker spaniel. We no longer have a need for Sallywags' service, but I would still recommend them to anyone. Like a hairdresser, I think sometimes you have to try a few until you find the right fit, and for us, that was always Sallywags.
