First was the cashier who for some reason needed to reconfirm EVERYTHING with me that was right in front of her on the receipt, several times! I didn't give her anything complicated and believe every cashier should understand how to read the time, date and item number on in a receipt. I wanted to return a single item that was purchased at different location just half hour prior and it was as though she didn't believe me or didn't understand, all the while starring at the receipt! Second employee could've cared less to take accountability over misplaced and mismarked items that I brought to her attention. Her dismissive response "yeah, yeah everything has a label so..." rubbed me wrong way! If the item were at all visible and not buried under other products I would've gladly gotten it myself and not ask her to help me dig for it. It's a real shame these two represent a company such as this.

We had bought a new condo, and the developer Sorbara had swapped out the itlalian made Scavolini kitchen in their model suite for a local alternative. We were told that it was because Scavolini couldn't meet the deadlines, but we learned from Dekla that the developer had called and requested a bulk discount, which was denied. After that Dekla never heard from them again. So when we came to Dekla and explained what we were told by the developer the sales person explained the real situation, then offered us a 20% discount out of spite for what the developer had done. I love when anyone gives a discount out of spite. Good on Dekla! So it took 3 years for the kitchen because we had to wait for the building to register, then we were waiting until we had the extra coin for the kitchen which we ultimately ended up doing in 2 phases. Any delays were our fault, and Dekla was great when it came to accommodating us with tweaks to the design. When we had the final part of the kitchen installed there was an issue with the height of one of the cabinets. It was an error that everyone had missed with regards to how much room the cabinet would leave for the microwave rangehood to clear the stove top. Dekla came and got the cabinet, modified it and reinstalled it. And it should be noted, they honoured that 20% discount given 3 years earlier. Bottom line, they were super professional, super helpful and very accommodating. You add to that the fact they offer a sleak sexy product and I can't help but recommend them. Especially the woman who helped us, Davida. Go get a kitchen from her.

I have asked to speak with the owner and he has been completely unresponsive. For a high end product, you would expect a much higher level of customer service. Stay away.

I can't comment on every single department or any of their installation services, but just in terms of the retail store - staff helpfulness & friendliness, in-stock levels, fairly clear & well maintained aisles, well chosen skid drop locations - they just seem to do a better job. Most recently I bought an Air Conditioner here and some weather stripping & insulation products. Noticed how the bulky HVAC products were all displayed in the spacious front part of the store for easy access by dolly or hand-truck and short run to the checkout & parking lot (whereas at Wicksteed they're split up with some AC's in the middle section where you'd have to bring them through aisles...). It helps that there often seems to be less of a crowd here. But I suspect part of that is due to customers being helped more promptly and competently both on the sales floor and at checkout.

They seem to have at least three sales staff that are always here, and they all acknowledge you and ask if you need help. Kal(Khaled) was the guy that helped me and was really nice without any pressure. He understood I needed some items today or fast and helped to call for expedited delivery. Then I returned a few days later to return a tap because my plumber needed another style set up, and he remembered me and offered to exchange to another item, as the refund policy is strict here. They have a house brand called Royal, which syle looks like another premier brand but for way less, and it feels really solid, full of metal not plastic parts like you get at a big box store. Lots of high end bathroom plumbing parts, free standing, bath tubs, toilets, bowl sinks and vanities on sale over the winter. My work colleague did warn me, she also bought from them at this sale, and a small piece was missing from her shower set in the sealed box. When she asked for them to help they referred her to the company(Grohe in this example) as they are the ones who packed the boxes and can send the replacement/missing pieces and not this store. I can see why this would upset customers, but Home Depot would do the same. So far so good, happy with my purchases on plumbing hardware.
