Lounge is chill. First time buying weed in Vancouver, and Canada over all, and came here for some prerolls to follow through with the vacation. There's a lounge, $5 to chill in there each person which is fine. It's open till midnight most days (I forgot which days are slightly different) and they got video games. I use a product MJ Cream for my arthritis. this product relieves the pain unbelievably. A griend of mine gave me a jar of MJ CREAM Pain that's how I became familiar with the product. I ordered 2 jars of the small size not realizing there was a large jar available. when I places an order for this product about a month ago we were told the company was short one of the components that help make up this cream and they would have this shortly. it has been a month now not a singel reply from this company integrates to the 2 emails sent asking for an update on my order. Basic Info: $5 per person to get in. BYOW (Bring Your Own Weed) 6 or so Volcano vaporizers with couches, a pool table, and small area for live music (on certain days). The random people I met here were all great and friendly. One random guy I met gave me his leftover weed because he had to return to the US. On my last trip here, I was able to return the favor/repeat the cycle to my new friends from Australia. While here with new friends I made (while staying at a hostel on Granville St), I got to talk weed culture with people from New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, and Montreal. The badass experiences I had here and will continue to experience here are IMPOSSIBLE (at the time of this writing) for me to have in the US. When I told people here how in many states in the US we would all go to jail they either LOL at me or look at me with sadness or shock. Nice atmosphere and being able to use a vaporizer for only 5$ is nice, but the coffee is pritty expensive and one of the staff seemed a little grumpy. My friend met marc emerie here once though but unless he or someone like tommy chong was there i would go next door, I didnt go down stairs but the staff upstairs was very nice, and the coffee was better priced. read more

When in Rome... This place is fun to visit when in Vancouver. If you dare, ask to go downstairs and see the one-of-a-kind pinball machine. I have photos to prove it exists if anybody wants to see it. It is called "Prince of Pot". The place is basically a head shoppe with a couple extra components. There is a stand in the back where a guy was selling all types of exotic herbs and roots and stuff. I didn't really go in there. There was also a section of the store where you can pay $5 to sit and use their pipes and vaporizers and what not. Note: They do not supply any product...they merely provide a place to hang out. The staff is laid back and friendly. The girl working there introduced us to a couple of her friends who were in town for a concert. We ended up hanging out with them for a little while and talking about cool places to visit around the city. It was a fun experience. read more

Well, I was just cruising around the web and I came across this terrible review of Cannabis Culture, which led me to Yelp and a whole LOT of terrible reviews of Cannabis Culture. so I figured I'd log in and let you know what the real truth of it is. I don't shop here a lot but when I do want to buy pot I literally walk across town (!) to Cannabis Culture because it's simply the best and oldest pot shop in town. There are some "hipster service" issues for sure and the staff is sometimes stoned but that's going to happen pretty much anywhere that sells pot, right? What hit me the most about the "reviews" you'll read here is that most of them must be talking about somewhere else entirely as they get the details of the room and the product completely wrong. One lady complains about being kicked out when they "didn't even touch the displays" but there are no displays in Cannabis Culture. Others give directions to a better store down the street, or across the street, but the directions make no sense unless again ... they are actually talking about a completely different location or store. These people are idiots. If you look closely, you'll see that most of the one star negative reviews are from tourists and most of them are from the States. Nuff said, really. Cannabis Culture is a local store for potheads who know what they want, it's been around forever, and isn't like all the silly little "Cannabis Dispensaries" cropping up on every block since the stuff was legalised. In other words, it's not Wall-Mart, it's not Starbucks and the staff don't have time to explain every little thing to you or wait for you to think for 20 minutes about your purchase. All the horrible little kids from Seattle who want to take a selfie in a "real" pot store, (!!) should probably stay home? I must say I got a kick out of the older dude who left a glowing review of the place (5 stars!) only to follow it up with two newer bad reviews (1 star) that go on and on about some woman behind the counter who didn't respond to him the way he liked. BEWARE SCAMMERS!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! After placing an online order you are notified it will take them one to FOUR weeks to ship your purchase. Once you receive it if it's the wrong item you are out of luck because they will never return your email or phone call. I politely emailed them and waited 4 days with no response so then emailed and called the store and head office over the next 10 days and even with a young guy saying his manager would call me back no one ever got back to me. I had spent hours searching the internet for a scorpion clip as it was a Christmas present and instead they chose to send me a lawn wrecking chafer beetle. So now as my last email to them stated all I can do now is warn others to not do business with such an unprofessional company. I give it a knock for charging a $5 cover for an hour. The weed in general in Canada is overpriced for the quality compared to Seattle. I didn't know you could buy weed in there and is cheaper than buying it at a dispensary, so that, video games, various smoking pieces and sanitary wipes and video games made it convenient. The game controllers need better maintenance though cuz some buttons didnt work on them. Worth coming to, but could be better. read more

I love that it's been all Americans writing up to this point...time for a Canadian to pipe up. Here's a shop any cannabis aficionado or tourist off the beaten track would love - they've got great magazines, board games, hemp tees, logo tees, black-light tees and some very elaborate glass pipes too (worth the visit alone to see these). You can browse all while getting an education on the culture and its clashes with both American and Canadian authorities. I learned - how did I miss this!! - that Harper is trying to pass bill S-10 which will put anyone with a couple joints or some plants behind bars for months. What a sad world we live in, where our "peace officers" don't have more important things to worry about than some people out there experimenting with their green-thumbs. Rallies at MP offices across Canada take place October 2nd. I think we should all support the work here of Marc Emery - Canada's Prince of Pot - and his message, no matter how counter-culture it is. I was kidnapped by some friends and brought to the upstairs of this establishment. It was time for me to engage in something completely "Vancouver." There is a $5 charge to come in to use the vaporizers for one hour. Hanging out in here is like hanging out in a youth hostel. You've got some kids playing pool, some dude reading comic books, and a table of whiggers smoking blunts. There were not as many hippies as I had thought there would be, but I guess maybe they are downstairs in the cafe smoking their dubes sans the vaporizer. I have encouraged my friend to make custom baggies to attach to the vaporizers, perhaps something more colourful with rainbows, glitter and unicorns to help make you feel less like you are sucking on a plastic garbage bag. I really think this would help enhance the whole experience and make people feel a little more glamorous when sucking in smoke fumes. They also sell some snacks and drinks up here, so I grabbed myself a bottled water. I paid with a $20 and almost got short changed $15. As soon as I was about to point it out though, the girl working there snickered and said "oops, I must be high or something." Umm... this may be my first time here, but I'm not as high as you may think I am. I guess this could be an occupational hazard, but it sure did live up to the stereotype these people have. You'll also notice the clock in there is always set at 4:20, the walls are painted a mint green and sadly living up to another stereotype, they have pictures of Bob Marley on the wall. There is a cool collage of history from the 1920's forward of marijuana plastered on the walls of the stairs which is pretty interesting as well. If you want to impress your out of town friends with something completely original to Vancouver, take them here and try to explain to them how this place even exists after sucking on the fumes of the vaporizer. read more

The Herb Museum in Vancouver, BC is an amazing collection of "herb" and psychoactive substance exhibits. In Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture you can see old cannabis, opium and coca medicine bottles; aphrodisiacs, hallucinogens, fungi, tobacco, cacao, coffee, tea, non-psychoactive botanicals and synthetics, pipes and hookahs, live plants, and more! The Herb Museum is open from 2pm to 10pm every day inside the Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture second-floor store, above the main store and Vapor Lounge. The Vapor Lounge itself is in the back area of the BCMP building. You pay 5$ and get a sterilized mouth piece to use on your own personal Volcano Vaporizer. There are 6 different table/couch setups with a vaporizer at each. The vibe is very chill in the Vapor Lounge, the people who work there are all stoners (picture Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High). They encourage a very relaxed vibe and comfortable setting, each table has room for 4-6 people comfortably, and within both the Vapor Lounge and the New Amsterdam Cafe, u can smoke the provided vaporizer, or bring in your own "sticky icky." read more

You can often find the Prince of Pot himself standing in the back offering dabs and spirited conversation. Lots of tees, glassware, books, magazins and hemp products. First of all, I gotta say, I love the cats in this place, I am pretty sure they are stoned all the time, they don't bother anyone, just walk around and sit here and there from time to time. I've come here a couple times with friends, I like this place, its pretty chill, no one comes and bothers you, they have drinks in the cooler or you can bring your own (no rules against that which I like) and the staff are really nice and no one comes to bother/harass you, its a $5 for admission (if you will) and you can stay for an hour I believe? Went in yesterday with some friends spent at least $200+ and then got kicked out by one of the attendants for loitering too long in the giant store. Mind you we were legitimate customers, we were NOT being rowdy, we were NOT messing with any of the displays, we were just looking around the store while it was pouring outside. Cannabis Culture and the Amsterdam Cafe on one side, La Taqueria, Nuba, Meat & Bread, and more deliciousness just steps away when you feel the need to munch! What's better? They have a great selection of bongs, pipes, rolling papers, grinders, all the goodies you need to pack a bowl. The staff are very friendly and chill (obviously!), and don't mind the kitties! They're just as nice. Take a sharp left out the doors and head upstairs to the Vapor Lounge. This is an ideal spot to blaze with friends (or even solo) on a less than perfect day. Comfy couches, your own personal vaporizer, and a nice view overlooking the street. Now that they've opened up the middle floor as well, there is a lot more space. Make sure you BYOW, don't ask around! There is a $5 charge per person, cash only, and maximum stay is one hour. On that note, I usually find that the hour limit is subject to how busy it is.
