My first day, Dani was the team member who took me in and helped me get started. Always he has a great smile, encourages me to have fun and complete my project (hard circuits at the gym). I get very happy when I see him at the entrance because we get to catch up. When I get to the gym, I always ask for a pair of shoes and chalk and last time that I went to the gym, Dani saw me parking and had my shoes and chalk ready even before I entered the gym. Lauren was fantastic and the customer service is top notch! They allowed us to try out the walls before committing. This is huge because anyone with little kids knows that the attention span can be non existent at times. However we were pleasantly surprised to see our kids fully engage and try multiple areas without getting frustrated. We decided to stay and we blew past an hour pretty fast. The kids quickly figure out what's difficult and what they can master. They had a blast in one particular section. The place itself is pretty big with multiple areas for climbing and a section for strength training with weights. Everything is neat, clean and bright. Prices are pretty reasonable. My son loved his week camp here and they didn't just do climbing they had lots of other fun activities my son told me about like board games, physical games, movie time, water day, even some yoga in there. My son thoroughly enjoyed it with a couple of his friends. They gave me two 50% tickets so my older son got to try it too. You have to go through a quick video instruction and then tour with a guide before being able to climb, pretty easy but take that in account with your time. I found everything easy to get started on and everyone very accommodating in sharing the space. Had a great time catching up with a friend being active and saw many groups.

This place is incredible not only because of what it is but because of the people who own and run it. The dedication of the owner is outstanding and he is so gracious with the time and energy that he gives to each and every guest. What this gym lacks in height it makes up for in mentally and physically challenging routes. There's is great diversity in the types of holds and each one comes with its own unique challenges. The auto-belay system is so handy when lacking a belay partner, and I also witnessed the owner belay people every time I was there. Seriously worth every Penny and every minute!

If you are on foot, or bike, you can enter from the sidewalk on 16th Ave, as you go down the hill past Colony Park. Colony Park is the subdivision with the curvy brick wall. As you go down the hill, on the right, you will see a small grassy area. There is no sign, so you'll have to be sharp!! This park is so very peaceful. There is a lazy creek that snakes though it. There are at least ten man-made bridges and decks that let you enjoy a nice stroll through nature. Lots and lots of birds will be sounding out, especially in the morning. You can walk your dog, bring some hot coffee, binoculars, camera, etc. You won't believe that you are in the middle of the city!! The word "enclave" comes to mind, as the mood in this park is almost magical and surprisingly isolated. You feel safe and peaceful. I am definitely going back. They even have doggy bag dispensers!!

When driving into the parking lot, the parking lot is sufficient especially if you go in the early morning or afternoon. In the last 10 years, they have done some renovations where they have added these beautiful memorial plaques dedicated to fallen soldiers. What I thought was super cool is that I walked up to the World War II plaque and saw my great uncle's name! It was definitely a heartwarming touch and just proud moment. The plaques range from the American Revolutionary War to more recent times. I'm a huge history buff, so for me it's a plus for me. The park has a walking trail that's paved and smooth to walk on, that starts from the parking lot and has different workout station areas along the trail. There's a playground area and multiple pavilions with grills which are great for parties and cookouts/family gatherings. Also, there's a softball field, basketball courts, soccer fields, and also a roller hockey rink. I think this park is great for everyone, singles and families as there's something to do or just enjoy the great outdoor area.

The trail wasn't very long, so if you're looking for longer treks I do not recommend Devil's Millhopper. Although I wouldn't classify it as a "must see", it's great for what it is. It's a state park, so expect to pay a few bucks for parking.

Situated on the South side of Gainesville, Squirrel Ridge Park has a long history dating back to the 1850's when it was a plantation for cotton, sugar cane, and corn. After slavery was abolished the owner started selling off the land, some to Andrew Carnegie and at least 250 acres worth to former slaves. Today, the area is memorialized by Squirrel Ridge Park, which is best known for its open area dog park and the only city park that holds rugby games. Walking around the park, we were also impressed by the children's play area, which is substantial and has a lot of features for kids to enjoy.
