My husband and I stumbled upon this winery and realized we hit the jackpot about 2 minutes into our tour. The history is unbelievable and a must visit if you're in Montepulciano. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us details about their history while walking us through their Etruscan caves. Following the tour we sat down for a wine tasting. They just released a new prosecco which is the best I've tasted in Italy, but the stars of the show are their red wines. I don't remember how many they offer, 5 or 6, but they range from a bottle that is great for a glass with friends to bigger, very elegant reds for dinner. The wines are excellent and we ended up shipping a couple cases home to Texas. We felt very satisfied with our decision and were later validated that we made the right choice after finding out they are in the Forbes Top 50 wines in Italy- and there's something like 100,000+ wineries in Italy - so that's a pretty big deal. Excellent quality and value. 11 out of 10 stars

So in over 50 years of going on wine tours this was probably the best I have ever been on. In Montepulciano the winery has a great founding story involving weather predicting, hedge hogs, inquisitions and ancient excavation. Top of the winery is from the 16th century and goes down several levels to a 2500 year old Etruscan cave. Tour is both amusing and informative. Wine tasting was very good wines at a really good price plus food. GOOD food tastings. If you are in Montepulciano I highly recommend!

If in Montepulciano, this is a must-see for wine and history buffs. A fun historical experience capped by good wine-tasting. One enters at the entrance at the top of the hill on which the town of Montepulciano lies, then walks and goes down stairwells through a cavern originally used/created by ancient Etruscans and now used to store and age wine. Very cool to see. The walk terminates at the bottom level in the retail store of the winery, where one can enjoy a wine tasting. After tastes of two wines offered by the (friendly and experienced) server, she asked if we would like to try another wine. My wife requested the "Vin Santo". The server silently turned to a man sitting at a desk working at a computer. Without looking up, he quietly nodded, and she walked to a cabinet behind the counter and pulled out the precious bottle of Vin Santo. Lovely taste - we purchased a bottle to fly home with us. To return to the top level of the hill after exiting the store, turn right and walk up the small slope.

Excellent winery. Learned so much. Emilio was our tour guide and he was fabulous! The owner could not do enough for us. I highly recommend a visit and tasting. The wine is excellent. We just received our case. Already planning on ordering more. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!!

If you have wondered where to find the most beautiful wine cellar in the world, this is it!!! This cellar was built back in 1498 as an extension of an already existing cellar and cave system that dates back thousands of years. Inside, you will find a breathtaking cathedral-like cellar lined will massive casks filled with what will one day become Vino Nobile, one of Tuscany's most iconic wines. Besides the incredible beauty of this cellar that is absolutely unmatched, if you like Vino Nobile, this is the label of choice. As you walk through the cellar, you will ultimately reach the tasting room, where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best Vino Nobile you will ever have. In Montepulciano, this is a a must-see.

Stopped in at de' Ricci while touring Italy. Enjoyed private tour and wine tasting. The caprese salad, cheese and meats were challenged by the dessert chocolates for the heart of my taste buds. Had a case shipped home and hoping our hostess looks us up when in Texas.

The beautiful room where we enjoyed lunch.

We were welcomed right away by Susana, the owner, who led us to the cantina. After a very warm welcome she led my wife and I down to the winery. Since this was our first time ever in a winery she explained the whole process in italian while my wife translated for me. It is inspiring to meet people with passion and love for what they do like the owners of this place. She offered us cheese and cold cuts while we tried the delicious wine and amazing olive oil. Needless to say we walked away with bottles of each but never felt pressured to buy, even though who wouldn't after trying their wonderful products. Do yourself a favor and make the drive, the city center is not that far away and you will fall in love with the place.

The local chefs they brought in to teach us were equally as wonderful and truly passionate about what they do. We had their Losna chardonnay which was very nice especially for this region which is not known for chards and the Curtun red was stellar. I personally loved the Curtun and found it much more pleasurable then most of the chiantis I've tried in the area. Can't wait to come back and hopefully bring more of the family to share.

We looked up their hours online and saw they opened bright and early. Great, we thought, we needed to be out of Rome early so let's have wine for breakfast. We arrived and drove into the picture-perfect quintessential Tuscan winery. Olive trees line the gravel road leading to the vineyard and tasting room. We were immediately greeted by feline guardians who purred and approached us for petting. The owner of this family-owned winery greeted us perplexed on what we were doing there at 10 am. Despite catching him unaware and preparing for a big tour group later in the day, he was incredibly welcoming and hospitable! He took time to show us the barrel room, tasting room, and give us the general tour.
