Do yourself a favor and get the chefs platter for a light lunch. It was incredible!! It's chefs picks each time so we didn't even get the exact same platter as the people next to us. The grounds are beautiful and there is indoor/outdoor seating to take advantage of. Watch out for enormous yellow jackets...my husband got a bad sting/bite when we were outside.

Had a wonderful tour today given by Paula in English. She was very patient and informative. We were able to tour four different areas. First, the grape room where all the grapes are placed on bamboo mats and kept there for 5-6 months. Second, we toured the room where the large (as in huge) barrels are kept. If i'm not mistaken, these are the Avignonesi oaks that are used for the barrels which are built inside that room. Third, we went inside an old building that was dark and musky in smell and was built in 1882. There French oak barrels are used. Lastly, we toured the Vin Santo room which is located inside a building that has opened windows and is bright and airy. After the tour, we had lunch with a wine pairing for each course. We started with the Antipasto of Valentano's chickpea soup with Firenzuola's spelt. It was so warm and delicious. It was paired with iL Marzocco Chardonnay DOC Cortona 2011. Then the Primo Piatto of Homemade maltagliati (pasta) with vegetables and Orcia Valley's saffron sauce. This was paired with two different reds the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2008 and the Desiderio Merlot Cortona DOC 2008. Last, came the dessert. It was Grandma's cake with Gewurstraminer zabione. This was paired with the Endidae-Gewurztraminer passito- Castelfeder (this tasted like ice wine). Not included in the tour and lunch was the premiun wine tasting. I highly recommend it. Its 28 Euros but you get to try the best of what Avignonesi offers..the Reservi, the 50/50, and the Vin Santo. The Reservi and Vin Santo are my faves. The Vin Santo is nothing i've ever tasted before. You gotta try to know what I'm typing about. :) P.S. They have fresh hand towels in their rest room. Classy!

Their house lady cooked amazing fresh food, and even helped us out with some laundry. We did the wine tasting dinner out on their patio with beautiful views of the rolling Tuscan countryside. Plenty of wine was provided, and Sara was extremely generous - opening many bottles even though there was just two of us, and offering us more to take away. Their pool was lovely, and a good size for swimming, with plenty of shade by the trees if needed. She had good advice about local places to visit. Our room was lovely and the whole place was just so picturesque. We found the rates cheaper than other places in the area, and I am so glad we booked here. We will be back!

We were greeted by the owners Sara and Hans along with their dog and puppy. What a beautiful place with it's 360 degree panoramic views along with it's wonderfully appointed grounds. We loved the mix of modern that did not overpower the history of the architecture and its gorgeous grounds. The local chefs they brought in to teach us were equally as wonderful and truly passionate about what they do. We had their Losna chardonnay which was very nice especially for this region which is not known for chards and the Curtun red was stellar. I personally loved the Curtun and found it much more pleasurable then most of the chiantis I've tried in the area. Can't wait to come back and hopefully bring more of the family to share.

We were welcomed right away by Susana, the owner, who led us to the cantina. After a very warm welcome she led my wife and I down to the winery. Since this was our first time ever in a winery she explained the whole process in italian while my wife translated for me. It is inspiring to meet people with passion and love for what they do like the owners of this place. She offered us cheese and cold cuts while we tried the delicious wine and amazing olive oil. Needless to say we walked away with bottles of each but never felt pressured to buy, even though who wouldn't after trying their wonderful products. Klajdi doesn't just offer wine tours--he curates unforgettable, custom-tailored journeys through the heart of Tuscany that blend culture, cuisine, and personal connection. For me and my boyfriend, he arranged private visits to a local olive oil mill, a pecorino cheese farm, and two hidden-gem wineries--each one authentic, intimate, and far from the tourist trail. We didn't just taste wines; we learned why they paired beautifully (or didn't) with local foods, thanks to Klajdi's deep knowledge and engaging teaching style. He's not only an expert, but also warm, funny, and genuinely invested in making the experience special. For my birthday, Klajdi went above and beyond--waking up before dawn to drive us to a surprise hot air balloon ride over Siena, filming us from the ground, and seamlessly continuing our wine tour afterward. That level of care and thoughtfulness is truly rare. He also offers private cooking classes and villa dinners with expert wine pairings. And if you're planning a wedding or special event, Klajdi and his fiancée are a dream team--handling every detail with elegance and passion. We can't wait to return to Tuscany and book as many experiences with Klajdi as possible. Everything in Tuscany is better with great olive oil, world-class wine--and Klajdi. Highly, highly recommend! https://www.tuscanywinefoodadventures.com/

We looked up their hours online and saw they opened bright and early. Great, we thought, we needed to be out of Rome early so let's have wine for breakfast. We arrived and drove into the picture-perfect quintessential Tuscan winery. Olive trees line the gravel road leading to the vineyard and tasting room. We were immediately greeted by feline guardians who purred and approached us for petting. The owner of this family-owned winery greeted us perplexed on what we were doing there at 10 am. Despite catching him unaware and preparing for a big tour group later in the day, he was incredibly welcoming and hospitable! He took time to show us the barrel room, tasting room, and give us the general tour. He apologized for needing to run into town to get ingredients for the lunch he was hosting and set us up with a half a bottle of wine and snacks where we could pet the cats and enjoy the morning on our own. It was beyond generous and a truly incredible experience to get to enjoy the quiet morning petting cats and sipping wine and listening to the happy voices of his child waking up in the apartment upstairs.
