Beautiful hotel and the rooms are adorable - we were so glad we had a ground floor room! overlooked the courtyard and within 30 paces to the great pool - great water temps. Try and time your stay for the Wednesday outdoor market - this was one of the best we had ever seen! hotel Gounod is perfectly situated in the heart of it. Such friendly and multi lingual staff. The breakfast was beautifully appointed with fresh yogurt, cheeses, jams and honey and bread. How much more can I eat?! apparently a LOT. The room we had was smartly decorated too - loved the brown/white color scheme. What a gem - don't miss this one!

The room itself is actually spacious compared to all the other places I have visited in France. There is plenty of room to maneuver around the bed. The room is very clean, as is the bathroom with a rain shower head. There are bathrobes and dispensers for soap. There is a computer in the lobby with Internet access. The wifi was spotty and difficult to connect to from the room. But once the connection was established in the lobby, my phone didn't lose it. The breakfast is pretty standard but good, with lots of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, cereal and fresh squeeze OJ. I would recommend Hotel Gounod.

It was perfect to lounge around the pool and soak up the southern France sun. It was expensive, but not out of step with competitors. Shuttle service connected the villa with the "main campus" resort and provided easy access to St. Remy, itself a charming town and perfect for a stay in the south. Room service was limited but still provided options for in-villa dining. Breakfasts were easily the best. The downside, however, is that, even with the shuttle, the villa is disconnected from the resort and too far to walk to town. We should have simply rented a great house in St. Remy. Disappointment over the isolation was eased because, frankly, there was hardly anything drawing us to the resort. The restaurants are average at best, the gym is an abject embarrassment, and. . . that's it. There is really nothing else at the resort. Furnishings are tired and in desperate need of a full facelift. The concierge was extremely unimpressive - not particularly responsive and a real challenge to work with. My advice is simply to rent a house in St. Remy.

Beautiful and rustic, the mas was everything I imagined and more. Our room had all the modern amenities with a nice rain shower and comfortable bed (complete with quilts from the region), while balancing the essence of Provence with their decor and details. The grounds were beautiful and was pretty expansive. My favorite were all the sculptures that dotted the property. Within the Mas is a very popular restaurant, and we quickly understood why. We had our complimentary breakfast (thanks to Expedia) in the same dining room used by the restaurant for dinner. We dined here twice and each time was a wonderful experience. A menu is posted every morning for the evening, which consists of five courses. The menu is well thought out using only fresh, local produce-amazing. The flavors seemed more zestful here-for instance, the cherry tomatoes we had were the sweetest (and we've had our share throughout the Mediterranean). We enjoyed our meals very much. Staff wasprofessional and friendly enough, although we experienced a bit of awkwardness when we refused the table (in the middle of the busy dining room in the path of central traffic) offered to us during our second dinner-we asked to wait for another and at first the woman handling the reservations became flustered immediately and was adamant about not giving us another table-but after some cajoling, she relaxed and agreed to let us wait for another table. The meal was worth the wait, and it helped that we sipped a local rose, Terres Blanches...delicious. My only other complaint is that my credit card was charged twice for the balance (which my CC company took care of) by the hotel. Overall a very pleasant stay save for a couple of hiccups. I'd love to return to Provence and will stay here again should I find myself in Saint-Remy.

Hotel 3 Stars Restaurant 4 Stars…read more We stayed in Le Mas de Carassins for our last night in St Remy prior to heading to the TGV in Avignon the next morning. Having already spent two nights elsewhere in St Remy, this place was on some small side streets and was somewhat hard to find. After finding the place, we were delighted with how cute the garden was. We wish we had only came here during the warmer months. The receptionist was lovely, she spoke fluent English (I later learned that she studied in the States and spent quite a few years here). A little disappointed in our room. First of all the lock to the door was extremely hard to maneuver. Upon entering the room, there was a small alcove? where the toilet was in a separate room to our right, to our left was the tub and the duel sinks. Having the toilet and the sink across the hall didn't make any sense to me, but it was only for one night so not complaining too much there. On the high note, we did opt for the dinner. The in-house restaurant was suppose to be one the of best in town so we decided to give it a try (I believe you must let them know if you want dinner or not while making your reservation). The receptionist doubles as a waitress at night, she was very friendly and explained all the dishes. It was nice to not have to venture out into town again to find dinner. We have probably already hit up all the top spots after spending a few days there since its such a small town. This was the first place we stayed where breakfast was included in our rate. So we packed up our stuff, loaded our trunk and proceeded to breakfast. Simple, croissants, breads, cereal, coffee, juice, some fruits. Checkout was a bit haphazard as the receptionist wasn't in yet by the time we needed to go (8:30am). So the chef or kitchen aid who didn't quite speak English checked us out. The bill was correct, but we had forgotten to give back the key, since she didn't ask we forgot about it as we were in a rush to catch our train. We ended up mailing the key back to the hotel.

We had a suite, with an open rooftop patio, on the top of the Hotel. Comfy King beds, clean and great big old fashioned bath tub (all renovated) The owner slips my mind right now but she was so sweet, helpful and gives you your space if you want it. The price of the room is under $200 and reasonable. If you can find the place on GPS, we did not, you go down a tiny little alley and once you find the door, it opens to a sweet courtyard with all the rooms above it, including her house (and the dog) She has a very sweet little room where she serves the breakfast and leaves her wine fridge open for you to have a glass of nice rose before or after you dinner. Very tasty, fresh fruits, jams, breads and meats for breakfast. We hope to return here one down and enjoy the town longer. I am sure you will not be disappointed in Saint Remy and mostly your accommodations if you stay here.

The downtown of Saint Rémy is so cute and charming and this property is directly in the center of the historic downtown. The streets in this part of town are walking only but it is very easy to park a few blocks away in the free parking provided by the property owner Christine. Christine is so amazing. I can't write it all here because my review would take up two many pages, but she makes your stay special and is there to assist and recommend in any way. She provides a lovely breakfast every morning with fresh croissants and baguettes, delicious jams, French ham and meats, fruits, etc. Quite a lovely spread. The property is so beautiful and charming. Something straight out of a dream. The room was lovely and every detail was thought about. I appreciated the still water bottles stocked in your room fridge and the fitted and flat sheet on the bed (I was surprised to find hardly any hotels or properties in Europe provide a flat sheet on the beds). The property was immaculately cared for, and every detail was given thorough care and attention. It was also immaculately clean. Lovely bedroom and beautiful updated bathroom with side by side sinks and a lovely tub that actually makes you want to take a bath. There was a lovely private rooftop terrace from our room and a lovely shared terrace on the ground floor where we ate dinner under the stars our first night (we arrived very late in the night and Christine was so sweet and helped get us food which was amazingly delicious from a nearby local bistro so that we could have dinner as all the restaurants would be closed by the time we arrived). As soon as you leave the gate from the property you are in a charming area filled with lovely shops and restaurants. It is so idyllic and you could just lose yourself in that town for a week without having a desire to leave. With that said it is such a good jumping off point to explore Gordes, Roussilon, Les Boux, Aix en Provence, Avignon, and many other places. Literally the only issue I could foresee anyone having with this property is if you were old and have a large suitcase and your room is on the top floor. We had huge suitcases and were on the top floor but it was no problem for me as I'm a youngish guy, but even if it is a problem for you just don't overpack, it's completely worth it to stay at this amazing, clean, charming, and relaxing property. One of my favorite properties I've ever stayed at and can't wait to stay there again. The only thing I would have changed is I would have stayed longer!
