My baby was misdiagnosed in Birmingham, AL with Lymphoma so I was devastated. Decided to take my baby down here to have some more tests ran. From the get go I dealt with a lovely lady named Harley. Very kind and compassionate. My little girl was seen by the amazing Dr. Cooper. Such a down to earth, kind and intelligent doctor. Jana, the extremely smart vet tech, took great care of my baby while she was being tested. Made sure she was comfortable and treated her as her own furbaby. After all the tests were ran and I got the results, an inflammatory process, Dr. Cooper called in some medicine for me here in Birmingham and my baby is doing AMAZING. The prescription was granted. When I showed up to pick it up I was told that they couldn't give it to me unless I brought the dog in for an appointment (roughly $70). She gets prescribed the same medication every time we bring her in so it's nothing new. If you are not going to prescribe a medication without seeing the dog then say that over the phone. Now our dog gets to suffer for the next 5 days until clinics open back up. We will not be bringing our animals back to this place.

Notice how almost every bad review that mill creek and briarwood animal hospital has, mentions Dr. Jones name and all of the reviews have similar complaints about her. You would think this vet office would have enough common sense and care of their patients and staff to do something about that. Dr. Byrd is a wonderful, caring, extremely knowledgeable, down-to-earth vet, accessible to us every time we had questions. Valerie, Birdie's therapist, has become truly special to us: how she responded and worked with Birdie, how Birdie responded and worked with her, and how Valerie interacted with us. This is a part of MSU Vet School; they could film Valerie working with her dogs and show it to vet students as a tutorial. The other therapists are also friendly and welcoming and seem to have excellent relationships with their dogs and their people as well. And Amanda in the office is a joy, funny, good-natured, competent, thorough, a wonderful management person with exceptional people skills. A family friend called and one our girls (dogs) had been bitten by a copperhead snake. We had her at the clinic within an hour, she stayed the night and was able to leave the following afternoon. The Doctors and Staff are top notch. We are thankful for a 24hr clinic and for the Veterinarian Business owners that play a part in this practice.
