They work together like a family from what i gathered this last week of trying to get all my ducks in a row for summer semester. Parking is always a headache at the Rio Grande spot since its downtown, and goodluck finding the right building for the services or classes you need there. Special shout out to the counselor here, Gloria Miller!! That woman knows how to truly counsel a fresh off the boat student like me and break down every lil step we need to know! From registration processes to financial aid to breaking down the fees we can expect to deciding which degree works best for you. She will help you through it all! She also knows everything an active duty members such as myself needs to know and the exemptions that come with it. So she will save you so much heartache and time to get your education going! I wish i made the decision to see her a long time ago. I wasted too much time with a bunch of other random counselors between the rio grande and valley verde campus! Really cool hang out/studying areas all over the building too. With student's arts and crafts diaplayed all over and comfty chairs indoors or outdoors, im so happy this will be my place of studying for the next couple of years.

I had a good learning experience at Emerald Nursing School. I recently took a class to get…read morecertified as a nursing assistant. The class was reasonably priced. It finished in about three weeks. If you're able to learn fast, you'll breeze right through it. If you can't, I would recommend a longer program. They have an eight-week weekend option at Emerald. The tuition also includes the textbook and scrubs to wear for clinicals. You don't get to keep the text book. The state exams are separate costs. The class includes a lecture and skills lab, along with clinicals five days a week. If we weren't going through a pandemic, you would go to clinicals at a long term care facility aka a nursing home or assisted living facility. Once you finish the class, you take a state exam. The state exams are delayed right now. They'll hopefully resume in July, maybe August. You're still able to find jobs in healthcare by finishing the class I took. The classes are pretty small, which is good for me. There was a total of nine students in my class. You have to wear a mask at all times and social distance always. The staff is also kind and informative. Overall a good experience here. It's affordable and finishes quickly. Oh and another thing, you also get CPR certified after taking the nursing assistant class. That's typically a separate cost.

However if it is an area he excels in then he is challenged by the teacher to further strengthen his knowledge. The teachers all care and love the kids. While this location is specifically on Ft Bliss, this review is not just for that satellite campus,…read morebut for the University as a whole. Park University is located in Parkville, Missouri, which is basically Kansas City. It's a real, accredited school with a real (main) campus that includes dorms, student centers, chapels, medical clinics, cafeterias, gyms and classrooms etc etc. See the photos section to not only see pictures of the Ft Bliss location, but for the MAIN campus in Missouri as well as a cool map showing where every satellite campus is located. Park University offers degrees that can be obtained 100% Online. HOWEVER, I must say, this University is a real school, it is NOT, a "diploma mill". The kind of FOR profit schools that basically have you pay them a certain amount and they just email you a letter with a degree attached to it. Seriously. This is NOT one of those schools. In fact, at this particular location, (on this area there's actually TWO "campuses": 1 on Ft Bliss and 1 in the City of El Paso) Park University has actual professors that offer real face to face, sit down classroom instruction type classes. There's around 20+ classes offered every semester (in person) and literally 100s offered online. If you look at the photos, there's a bulletin board showing what summer classes were offered. Everything from Senior level (400s) economics and business school type things, to Freshman Writing Seminars (EN105), and many others in between. And again, if you can't find something you want (or need based on your degree plan), there's 100s of classes online. Or maybe you just prefer online better? Either way, Park University try's to make sure whatever method is most suitable for you to be successful and to learn, they provide. In person Classes are normally twice a week with everything ranging from Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday, or maybe JUST Friday? Just Saturday? Yea that right hard working Americans, SOME classes are offered on Saturday as well so you can still make it. The weekend classes were all morning time. And most of the weekday classes started usually around 1700 (5pm) and went as late as 2200 (10pm). And yet again, I remind you that you can be 100% Online and just stop by the locations for student advisory and assistance. Let's talk pricing. Now everyone knows college can be expensive, but I think we can all also agree that it IS worth it in the end, and it will ultimately pay itself off after so many years of your exciting new career. So let's look at some things regarding finances: Civilians: I've sworn to give my life in order to defend your freedoms. But I can't help ya on this one. Just like ANY school, Park costs $$$. Military Spouses / (maybe) dependents: Its still costs get smart, but your group receives a slight discount in each credit hour. Retired / Prior Service Military: It's getting better! You guys don't pay full price, AND you pay less than the kids/spouses! That's a big discount, but hey - don't y'all have the GI Bill anyways? Sneaky veterans. Active Duty Military: Y'all do a lot for your country, and Park has Promised to give back to you. Many of you skipped college and grabbed a rifle. Park hasn't forgotten your sacrifices and they hook you up. As active duty Soldiers know, WHILE on active duty, you can receive what's called TA (Tuition Assistance). If you're not familiar with it, contact your Go Army Ed or Education Center ASAP. But once you sign up and get approved, the Army will pay UP TO $250 per credit hour, not to exceed $4500 dollars OR 5 actual classes per calendar year. Now then, Park University, like most schools, charges something like $700+ per credit hour. HOWEVER, for Active Duty Military ONLY, they set a FLAT RATE of $250 per credit hour, for any and every class, for as many classes as you ever take. They realize the Army doesn't give you enough money, so they give you approx $500 discount PER HOUR, which equals about $1500 discount PER each class you take. Now then, you still buy your own books, and grades are gimmies: you can be in Iowa or Iraq - you kiss an assignment and you get a F, period. But still, besides books, Park makes sure that the Soldier, while paying for our freedoms with their lives, doesn't have to pay out of pocket just to earn a degree. And yes you read correctly: 5 classes a year. Look, the Army will pay for your school, but they ain't trying to hire and employ FULL TIME students. We got wars to fight homie! So 5 classes a year is plenty so that you still earn credits, but you still work and serve the country that's paying for that school! So starting. From scratch, it'll take ya about 6-8 yrs for that bachelors. Which is FINE, because you're staying in until 20 years anyways, RIGHT?! Right. Park will also evaluate any and all transcripts you have from other educational institutions and apply them towards your degree! That includes military schools as well! Oops. Excellent!!! Tutoring U is amazing! My daughter had issues at school because of a bad (bully and…read morelazy) teacher. It got so bad I, and a couple other parents, removed our children from the class and put them in another school. The new school informed me that she was severely behind the rest of the class. She finished out the year at the new school, but because of the stress from her previous teacher her confidence was gone and her attitude changed drastically. I spoke with Michelle and her husband at Tutoring U, and they explained how they work with the students. I walked out of that meeting and could not wait to get my daughter started! Later that week I took my daughter in so she could be tested so they could see what her strengths and weaknesses were. They immediately gave me the results of her tests - no waiting - and they set her up on a tutoring plan. Immediately I started to see changes in my daughter! Her confidence was returning, she was happy and her stress was gone. Most important she was learning - A LOT! She was caught up on all the previous year's lessons and she was ready to start the new year. Currently, we are a few weeks into the new school year and her teacher has commented how advance she is math and reading and that she knows how to properly study. We previously tried the other national chain tutoring centers; they were very expensive, did not have one on one teaching (it was more like 4 to 1) and all they seemed to care about was having you sign a lengthy contract. I love that the tutoring is one-on-one. The curriculum focuses on the student's weaknesses, but will also review their strengths. I was always told what my daughter would be working on and how she did on the lesson. I was so happy with the progress my daughter made that half way through the summer I enrolled my younger daughter so she could get a start on the new school year.
