Daughter, Neice and I planned to attend. Neice found this place & thought the macaroni cheese bar & drinks were intriguing. The macaroni & cheese was included with the paint & sip but drinks were extra. There were 4 or 5 types of pasta...my favorites were the bacon, the mushroom truffle butter...surprise there were leftovers we were able to take with us, yeah!! There were aprons, space to work and step by step instructions. The music that played was instrumental, kept the flow going and kept us upbeat! Everyone should appreciate any business that was able to withstand Covid. I'm sure they are still struggling to come back with less staff and higher pricing of food and shipping. Clearly, these other patrons making these reviews are lacking knowledge of the small local family businesses. This paint and sip offers a complimentary food buffet with your ticket price and still has not increased these prices like their competitors. I've been to the Troy location, but preferred this one. I think that is due in large part because it feels a bit more spacious. I hate being jammed up next to someone else at a paint and sip. That being said, my paint and sip event had only a handful of people in attendance. In fact, they called to try and have us reschedule a couple of hours beforehand. My party and I were firm on the date though as someone was joining us from out of town. The instructor was friendly. I don't think any paint and sip I've attended has actually had directions that 100 percent made sense, but it must be hard to explain your artistic process to non-artists. She did something right though, because the three of us in my group all got a product we were happy with. Of course the mac and cheese bar at this place is also a highlight. It's not the best mac and cheese ever, but it's good. I liked the Gouda option they had. The beer selection was small, but good, and I appreciated that they had a Wolf Hollow on tap. Additionally, we were given a complimentary tipsy scoop because of our birthdays, and that was pretty delicious. I'm not a huge paint and sip person, but for the right reason and/or with the right group, it's a great option. I used to love this place. But will no longer go here. When I started going, they ran it like a real paint and sip, they actually gave you tips and pointers on how to do certain techniques. Now they take your money have small amounts of food (although tasty, I want there to create not really eat), a cash bar (same as before) and have a little girl running supplies back and forth to people. Don't get me wrong, I grew up in a family business but a paint and sip for adults who are hanging with their friends (or not) and having adult beverages, at night, isn't the best work experience for a 7 or 8 year old. And personally, I have raised 3 kids and educated thousands, if I wanted to go to a paint and sip and be waited on by children, now I know where to go. The thing that has really tipped the scales to the point where I will never go back is that I paid for a class the Wednesday before Christmas, $35 canvas Noel (most expensive class yet) and they cancelled. I get it pandemic, weather, things happen, events cancel, places close but don't offer a to-go kit, a refund or attend another class without a change fee and then don't honor it. I first asked for a to go kit. After waiting multiple days, they told me they didn't have anymore of the canvas Noel kits. But I could have a ceramic Christmas tree. I told them (in writing as all of this wa via their email) that I didn't want a ceramic Christmas tree, (unbeknownst to them it is because I own one that was made for me by my mother more than 30 years ago). So they offered me to come in for another class. I didn't want to come in for another class, because there wasn't anything scheduled of interest to me. So I went there to get my refund, they were closed. No hours posted and their website said they were open. To err on the side of consideration, I had anticipated it was because it was between Christmas and New Years, but they didn't update their website or even out a paper sign in their door. I emailed them back again they said they would be open certain days certain times. Unfortunately, I work for a living so I can enjoy myself and do things (like a $35 + cash bar, canvas paint and sip) and that I could come in for another class without a change fee or get a refund. Again I told them I wanted my refund which they said they would honor. Here it is nearing the end of January, and still no refund. So they ripped me off $35 (because you pay when you sign up on their site), cost me a lot of running around and anguish. I hope it's worth it for them to have my $35 because they would've had a lot more from me and my friends (groups of avid crafters) if they would've taken care of me, honored my refund and earned my loyalty and respect. I do a lot of painting and a lot of crafts, I even hold "classes" and sessions with my neighbors and friends to teach them how to do different things. This place, really blew it big-time. Also I would still love to have my money refunded, but it is no longer worth my time or energy to continue to play cat and mouse with a business that doesn't honor their offers. Since they no longer respond to me, haven't sent me my refund either electronically or in the mail, have not given me my goods or services to make up for what I didn't do or receive due to their cancellation, they surely deserve this Yelp review to warn others to "paint at their own risk" because it's great when it happens but they are not reputable when they are in the wrong by not refunding someone's money. It is obvious that $35 is needed more by them then maintaining a better business climate and culture and certainly do not deserve my patronage. Good luck in your future business endeavors. If you have a conscience and want to honor the refund that you surely forgot by now, you have my name, address, phone number, and email to make good on your incomplete transaction. Honestly, save you're money folks, if you want to do something fun with your friends, reach out to me and I'll hook you up for an evening of enjoyable crafting for the cost of the crafts, no hidden fees or other withholdings. Cancelled class about two hours prior to the class and it's been over a month with no refund. Texted them and they asked for my name but still nothing. Disgusted! As a member of the social committee of the Capital District Humanist Society, I had arranged and paid the $350 deposit for a group event at this studio. We had several phone conversations and emails to confirm time, date and numbers. To my shock, our group ended up waiting in the rain in front of locked doors! Two phone messages after the appointed time, somebody called back, apologized and informed me that our class had been changed to a later time! Nobody bothered to inform us! The studio calendar still had it listed as a 2 pm event and showed it as "sold out"! Even though they reimbursed my deposit and offered free tickets to be used at a later date, I am appalled and embarrassed in front of our group! We ended up cold, hungry and so angry! I would not recommend doing business with this studio!!! read more

Went for a girls night out with some friends, and had a good time, but the experience was less than exceptional. I've been to a million paint and sips. This one was special because it has a Mac & cheese bar. Four different types of Mac& cheese were offered. They were average, but I also wasn't very hungry at the time. The bar was stocked with a huge variety- spiked ice cream (yes, that's a thing!), root beer floats, and many other alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. They also bake cookies and brownies (delicious)! The canvases were very small, about half the size of a standard one. The music choices that were played were very old music choices (may have just been the artists choice). The main thing that I didn't like was that they kind of made you feel like a kid. If you tried to get more paint or supplies, we were stopped and told they would do it. Also, the instructor we had didn't seem very knowledgeable within the art field. She seemed uncomfortable, and gave very odd instructions, when there were much easier ways to accomplish the painting. She also didn't seem impressed when a few folks went ahead of her steps. Overall, we had a decent time, but I'm still partial to the original Paint 'n Sip (Saratoga-not Latham...but that's a whole other review). Even with the lack of food, I think that the artists at other places are more confident, knowledgeable and personable. Definitely check this place out, but go when they have a sale, don't pay full price. read more

Don't waste your time. Out of 4 times we had a painting class scheduled one time they canceled while we were sitting in the parking lot another time they canceled via email which I didn't get until after we left the parking lot and the third time they didn't even return my phone call regarding canceling. Very disappointing because the one time we did actually get to go it was fun. I don't know what's going on with the place but I consider this very poorly run. read more
