All the members of this parish take great pride in helping one another and are always welcoming to visitors. The building itself is unique and the history behind the parish is just as unique. I appreciate that they still pay homage to the Portuguese settlers that constructed the building, even though the majority of the parish members are not Portuguese. This is definitely a great place to celebrate Mass, whether you are a resident of Falmouth or are visiting.

Masses tend to be crowded, even if they're Saturday vigils. They are wonderfully decorated for the Christmas season. However, it does have parking&traffic issues so be prepared. The parish is friendly and orthodox, but the lot has plenty of unorthodox parking. Beautiful place.

Went to volunteer with the strawberry festival, ended up getting attacked over my faith. A young…read moreman in seminary joined in, vey inclusive unless you aren't one of them. I found this very disgusting, and the congregation should be ashamed of themselves. I had nothing to say, yet kept getting attacked. The Episcopalians say they teach inclusion, maybe they do, but not this church. Sorry I volunteered to help with the community, maybe this church should catch up on Christ teachings.

At end of each Mass, younger children are invited up to the altar area for a special blessing; this says a lot about this parish's attitude toward kids and families in general. Music at the 10:30am Mass on Sunday is very upbeat; the music director has a jazz background from Berkeley in Boston. For more traditional, organ-based music, try the Saturday evening Mass. Easter Vigil Mass was not overly long, just 90 minutes and it began at a family-friendly hour of 7pm. Compare that to 3 or 4 hours in Sandwich where people were getting out close to midnight. Pastor Daniel Hoye is friendly and approachable. This parish has a large number of young couples preparing for marriage. We must have seen 15 couples at one Mass where they were all invited up to the altar for a special blessing. After they were blessed, they went to the hall for a social hour togther. Again, this public acknowledgement of these fine young people says a lot about this church's attitude and welcoming feeling, just as it does for the young children who are blessed regularly. It's a nice "vibe" there, a Catholic parish that exudes warmth and the feeling that it's glad Vatican Two happened. Located near Mashpee Commons off Route 151. I grew up at this church. Donnie (the old choir director and pianist), as well as Alex (the new…read moreone), are both fabulous. The choir is beautiful. The church itself (the building), is gorgeous. And the childcare programs (CCCD, VBS) were always great! However, my family and I have had 3 funeral services with the church over the past few years (with two being in the last 3 months) and father Healy made an absolute abomination out of them all. He wouldn't allow my mother to write the eulogy from her heart and said it needed to be about the dead's relationship with god (which was especially difficult for my uncle considering that he could not speak and was severely disabled). We were not allowed to have ANY songs that held personal meaning (and yes, I specifically found churchy music for the occasion. It's not like I requested that WAP be played), and were told funerals are about god, not the person who passed. For my grandmothers funeral, father Healy stood up and told the audience that her 'ticket to heaven' was my uncle because she had to take care of him. He is a human being. The only reason father Healy got away with saying that is because he can't speak back. He would've NEVER said that about a person who could care for themselves (and proved that by not mentioning her other child). For my uncles funeral, he said that my uncle was not important to the beings on earth. He said that if my uncle was significant, there would be hundreds of people at his services and many eulogy's but look where we are. I am unspeakably disappointed in Christ The King and can not believe the death of my dearest friend has been made into a spectacle for someone we may not ever even meet. Don't have your loved ones services here unless your ready to ignore the love people had for them as well as your morals for an hour and listen to the ramblings of a rude man who was given a podium.

The West Falmouth United Methodist Church is located on 28A in the center of beautiful West…read moreFalmouth. The building was built in 1902 but the congregation has been around since ~1850. This vibrant, dedicated congregation welcomes new members and old friends on their visits to the Cape. The new minister, Pastor Sieglinde Rogers, offers sermons that are well worth coming to hear for all ages. In warm weather services are held outdoors in the gardens next to the church. The men's breakfast, held in the meeting room downstairs once a month, is open to all - men, women and children. Movies, bowling, Taize, prayer groups offer opportunities for fellowship and enrichment. Easter, Christmas and other special occasions draw friends and family from all over the world.

Dropped in at John Wesley Methodist Church for their annual holiday fair. I have been to this…read moreparish once before for a funeral, and this time around I am happy it was for a joyous occasions. The only thing I really need to say about this parish is that their parishioners are incredible. Everyone we ran in to was incredibly polite and welcomed us. Although we are Catholic, we could see ourselves attending a mass here.
