I was visiting The Cape for my yearly stay. I stayed with my son for a day. At that time I saw his brand new college diploma sitting on top of a cabinet-next to his baseball cap & clothes!!! I was shocked to say the least! I know he was only working on Cape for the summer but that was one important document! So I decided to go out to get a frame. I found a nondescript frame.I wanted some acid free paper to go behind the document. I did not know where I could find some paper, so I called the store. They said they would be happy to help me with the acid free paper. I got to the shop and found the most beautiful frames. I went through and picked about 6 I liked. The saleswoman came over to assist me. I told her what I wanted to frame and she told me none of the 8 X 10 frames would work. A diploma is 8 1/2 X 11. She said she did have a frame, it was quite pricey but if I wanted to see it anyway she would look for it. When she brought it out I got teary. (As I am now!) It was a BEAUTIFUL frame, one I could never find had I searched a mall. I knew that was THE one. Though it came with a sawtooth hanger, she explained if it had a wire hanger it would be much more secure when hung. She made the change free of charge. I didn't have the diploma so the saleswoman explained how to complete the 2nd wire after diploma had been inserted. They would have done it all had I had the diploma with me. When I got the diploma framed and hung on the wall it looked magnificent! My son's roommate saw it and said that she'd text a picture to her mother saying that was the kind of frame she wanted for her diploma! Being a guy, of course he didn't notice it for the first 24 hours. When he noticed it though he put a picture on Facebook saying what a great Mom I was. Worth the price of admission that compliment was! The saleswoman was so very gracious and helpful. If ever I have any other needs that they could accommodate I will go the Cape Cod Photo, Art & Framing store in the future for sure. read more

Just went in to have 40 photos scanned. I was told that would be $60. But if I had 50 photos, the cost is $30. Makes no sense to me. I took my stuff back and walked out. I try to do business with local businesses, but I'm not willing to pay 100% premium for a flawed pricing policy. read more

It's great that there's a place like this up in this part of the Cape -- you don't have to go all the way down to Hyannis to get art supplies. Selection isn't massive, but can't complain. They're also equipped to handle photo reproductions and other prints, which is particularly helpful considering most everywhere else around here just has the do-it-yourself Kodak machines at CVS that can't handle large sizes and often get the colors off pretty badly. It's difficult for me to get angry with poor customer service. As somebody who has worked behind the counter for years I usually always empathize with the employee over the customer. However my experience at Cape Cod Photo & Art Supply in Orleans was completely different to any that I have ever encountered. I have never felt more cheated and disrespected by any business - corporate or locally owned. I brought in some black and white film to be developed. They told me they would be happy to develop it but would need to send it out to Kentucky (first weird sign). I asked if sending it out would cost extra, and the woman at the counter told me it wouldn't. About ten days later my film was ready. I have worked with this type of film many, many times before. I have developed it myself and I have brought to other photo stores to be developed. Perhaps the Kentucky company let their blind intern develop the photos - but the way they turned out was unacceptable. I'm not a whiner, and this is my first negative review - let alone any kind of review of any public establishment. The photos came out with no whites and no blacks, they were composed only of shades of gray. The negatives were very light. The owner or manager told me that it was my fault the photos came out the way they did. I offered to show him previously developed prints and negatives of the same film. He said he didn't care, and offered to send the photos back to Kentucky. I have no idea how or why Cape Cod Art & Supply chose this random place in Kentucky - when we are thousands of miles closer to New York and Boston; cities that are reputable for their art services. Why they couldn't find a developer there? I have no idea. Instead of encasing the negatives, Kentucky had just stuffed them in the envelope. When I pointed this out to the owner or manager guy he said nothing, he couldn't even muster an apology. I offered to compromise - how about they just charge me $10 instead of $20 and we call it just an unfortunate incident. They refused and claimed that they would be losing money, but they don't know how much money because they said they have no idea how much the photos actually cost them. When I asked them to TRY to break down the cost it turns out that sending them to Kentucky was $7.50 even though when I brought them in the woman at the desk told me that the shipping didn't affect the price. Sorry this is so long winded. Basically this place does not know how to develop customer relationships. They also have no idea how to manage their finances when outsourcing to other companies. Don't go here. Go anywhere else. Go to CVS. Tell your friends to avoid this place. Develop your photos in the sun. Just don't waste your money. read more

I am prone to reading reviews about a photography service before I use it. My negatives are very precious to me and I depend on reliable, professional service. I was on the Cape visiting and wanted my film developed. My experience was the exact opposite. The gentleman that helped me could not have been more concerned about giving me good service and the negatives came out perfect. When I picked them up I was helped by a woman who I guessed was the owner. She told me how she and her husband always wanted to live on the Cape and were so thrilled to have this business and the opportunity to work with the locals as well as visitors. They focus on giving professional service to the artists that live on Cape Cod year round as well as people visiting for a week or two. She said that customer service is the heart of their business. I hope you will give Cape Cod Photo a try - I could not have been more pleased and I even discovered some nice gifts for my children in the "All Wound Up' section in the back that has really cool, unusual items for the kid in all of us. read more

I have had some framing and printing done at Cape Cod Photo and I am extremely pleased with their service and their professionalism. The framing lady has a great eye for color and made my landscape print look fabulous. The guy who runs their lab is very knowledgeable and helpful. He made my photo look better than I thought it would turn out. In a world where local merchants are fast disappearing, its nice to have a great resource in my neighborhood. Had a bad experience here with having them copy a vhs tape to dvd (ordered 2 copies). First time there was no audio, they redid it without a problem. The second time the discs were so scratched that they woudn't play through. The manager suggested I was at fault (both were scratched when I took them out of the case) but redid them at no charge. The third time they were also scratched and wouldn't play, but I have given up ( I'm out $45) and took my old vhs tape elsewhere. read more

I must say that I'm not one to post many things but the service that I received seems worthy. This mom and pop store has a nice warm feel and the help was just as good. Had a issue with my Nikon d700 which was quickly rectified by them. The owner was very personable and went out of his way to help me. I'm not a professional by any means but needed to get this fixed.
