Made a brief stop at this store, and was happy with the layout. The selections involve decor, paper goods, jewelry, and toys. Looks to me that a makeover was done a couple or so years ago, which turned out nice. A lot of items that will definitely fulfill someone's interest without a doubt. Chatham's Mayflower has sure changed! I've been coming here every year since I was a kid, this store used to have a similar feel to the town's Ben Franklin shop. The inside looks a bit nicer these days and the displays are lovely. I feel like the store has a more sophisticated vibe and is geared more towards adults now. They have a lot of great items such as novelty canvas totes, cosmetic pouches, funky key chains, greeting cards, glassware with cutesy sayings, notebooks, gift wrap, board games, a small toy section, arts and crafts sets, kids books, nautical themed plates/mugs, tea towels, Beekman 1802 products, wall decor, jewelry and much more. Of course, they do sell Cape Cod specific souvenirs. I spotted glasses and some beautiful wall decor related to the Cape. Prices are a little high, but pretty much everything in Chatham is since there is such a short tourist season here. This is a fun place to check out if you are shopping in town! I took a quick look at their website, I wish they had included some historical information on the shop since it's been here for decades! I'm a geek and I like to read that kind of thing. read more

Mayflower Shop rebranded (possibly changed ownership?) about 4 years ago and WOW they've done an incredible job with the shop! This is one of my favorite shops on Chatham's Main Street. They have a beautiful mix of home decor, paper goods, kitchen ware, bodycare/skincare, kids toys, and gifts placed thoughtfully throughout their well-decorated shop. The gifts and decor can suit many different styles - from nautical or rustic, to simple or farmhouse chic. They truly do an incredible job at mixing styles while making everything look cohesive. The Mayflower is a neat little shop on Main Street in Chatham and a must-stop in if you're visiting town. Parking is fairly easy with several public lots right nearby (2 minute walk). The store is charming, well kept, and offers a wide variety of home decor, clothing, gifts, and Cape Cod/Chatham related items. Plus, there is a nice kids' section in the back right with books, toys, clothing, lots of which are ocean-themed. It's a nice balance of trendy, hip, and casual - not stuck up like some stores of the genre can be. To set a playful mood, they had pop/hip-hop Christmas music playing and the whole front right corner of the store smelled amazing from the assortment of air fresheners. It really is worth a visit just to treat the senses. There is a lot of inventory, but the space does not feel cramped or overcrowded. The staff was helpful and made me aware of their presence, but not overbearing. It was especially nice not to feel crowded given the COVID pandemic (FYI, everyone was wearing a mask and Chatham's Main Street shopping district has a mask mandate in place). Great shop in the heart of Chatham. Well selected collection of nice things for the home or a gift. I always visit when I'm in town, but never thought to write a review. The store changed hands a few years ago and is less of a variety store and more upscale. Though you can always find an affordable gift here that's in good taste. read more

+5 stars for keeping me steadily employed from ages 14-17. -1 star for no longer selling Swedish Fish penny candy. Those were a signature part of any visit to the Mayflower Shop - as well as a major food group for anyone who ever worked there (and most Chatham kids have definitely worked there at some point in their lives). In all honesty though, I love this store. I spent an obscene number of hours working here during my teenage years, especially during the crazy summer months when the store was jam-packed with tourists and there were always 100 things that needed to be done. After all that, you'd think I might never want to go there again! But walking in the door just feels like coming home to me. I'm still a complete sucker for their Yankee Candle display, all the cute Christmas decorations and gift wrap, and tons of office supplies and pens that I didn't know I needed until I saw them in the store. And now that I'm "kind of" a tourist myself, I even find myself looking at all the cheesy Chatham coffee mugs and cranberry candy and other stuff I never thought I'd find myself buying someday (as presents for friends on the west coast, I swear!). I guess what I'm trying to say is the Mayflower Shop has done a really good job of making a shopping trip in there an integral part of the "visit to Chatham" experience, and I'm more than okay with that. read more

This shop is what I look for when I am wandering around getting to know a town. It has a little bit of everything really. You start out in the front which has a nice range of housewares - some higher end and some smaller stuff that is well priced. A section of bracelets, personal items...you name it really. In the back books and gag gifts or just fun unique stuff. Wandering through is fun and I challenge you to not find at least one thing you must get...personally I found the perfect bracelet I wear all the time. This will definitely be on my must go into list when I visit this area again. read more
