They wanted a check of 2,500 dollars before they would even lift a finger to start the project and would wait until that check cleared. They then would want another check of 2,500 and wait for that check to clear. Of course if I have had been stupid enough to accept this the bank would have said no. I of course, went with another contractor who quoted me a price for the same apples to apples job of 6875 with one third before the job started one third at mid term and one third upon completion. As soon as I wrote this contractor the first check he put the check in his pocket and started going to work ! The bathroom came out excellent at the end. So it really pays to look around !
