I went there today with my son as usual for a special haircut that he wanted. They told me this is a job for some guy, I don't know his name but I guess he is an employee or perhaps the owner. It was at 4:30 and they close at 5. After waiting for an inconsiderate time, a guy came down from upstairs, he has long brown curly hair with a scruffy beard like look. He demanded the money first but in cash only. I did not have cash, only a card so told him how about you start since there is limited time and while he is cutting the hair I'll go to the bank and get cash. He was hesitant but agreed. I said to him why do you demand the money first what if my son is not happy, he said then we would make it right - a familiar common hair type of dispute excuse, but I didn't mind. So he started cutting and I went to the bank. I came back a few minutes later and looked through the window and saw he was cutting my son's hair, so I lit up a smoke before I went in. Right away a girl came to the door and demanded the money now. I said I'll be right in. Then the thug came out in a rage demanding the money before he finish the haircut. I said to him I'm leery about your approach. I can see through the window my son was putting his coat on to come out. I guess he must have told him he is not finishing the cut. NOW WE"RE ON THE SIDEWALK. I said to him what is the issue, do you think I'm going to rob you for $25. I said what do you think I'm here for? I want a service, I pulled the cash out of my pocket and said, you finish the cut and then I pay as usual. He then tried to grab the cash out of my hand while punching me in the stomach at the same time, neither was effective. I realized I was at an advantage as this guy was clearly intellectually limited. I said I'm going to charge you with assault, he ran around my car like a lunatic taking pictures. He said he's going to call the cops too. I called the cops, while he is ranting and raging on the sidewalk and parking lot. The cops told me to stay in the car with my son until they arrive. After a few minutes the area of the business is loaded with cops. I first told the cops what had happened and then they went in and talked. Of course the girls working there or I guess students all said there was no assault. I had no witness, so no charge. I then went to Haircutters where they finished the cut. I also found out that they are $5 dollars cheaper then Allanti School Of Hairstyling. Needless to say, I will never go back to Allanti. When you go there beware. It appears that your money takes priority for them and the haircut or client is not so important...beware.

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon, both with the results of my hair and, more…read moreimportantly, the unprofessional conduct of the owner, Dee. I originally booked a consultation for a warm honey balayage with another stylist, but Dee ended up doing my hair. I wasn't told why, but I didn't mind at first. However, from the start of the appointment, things felt off. I explained that I wanted a balayage for its soft, blended look and easier grow-out with my dark hair. Dee responded, "I think I'll do babylights." I trusted her judgment, assuming babylights could achieve a similar effect. Unfortunately, the result was not at all what I asked for. The highlights were streaky and yellow-toned, with two very bold, chunky money pieces at the front. I was charged $300 (+ a $50 tip) and rushed out without being shown the back of my hair. I later emailed Dee with my concerns. She acknowledged them and scheduled a correction. During this process, I also received chaotic and unclear texts from her, which made me nervous, but I wanted to give her a chance to fix it. For example, I was sent ideas that did not look like the balayage photos I showed her, so I tried to politely explain what I wanted. The follow-up helped slightly, she toned the money pieces, but the overall colour was still streaky and unblended. I wasn't even given a rough blow dry; I was sent home with soaking wet hair, making it hard to assess the results until later. I followed up again, requesting a partial refund since I would now have to pay for a root blend elsewhere to correct the work. Dee declined. What really shocked me was when she later responded to an Instagram story of mine to say the hair didn't look nice and she was "shook" when she saw the photos. This felt incredibly unprofessional and rude, as I posted what I thought was a nice photo. She insisted that I come in for another fix, but I declined as I had already made three separate trips (including the consultation) from Toronto to Waterdown. At the end of the day, I know it's just hair and I'll get it fixed elsewhere. But the whole experience, from the poor communication and rushed service to the unsolicited personal messages and unprofessional comments, was deeply frustrating. I also asked her to stop texting me and she didn't respect this request, as I just wanted to move on and have it fixed elsewhere. As a final note, I was also uncomfortable listening to Dee speak negatively about former employees and "Waterdown moms" during my appointment. It did not create a welcoming or professional environment.
