Quality diner right outside the Crossgates Mall with fast/friendly service and delicious food with sizable portions. Feels like a time warp to old America that you'd see in movies set in the 1920s. Earth tones, and no flashy over saturated colors you'd see from the 50s onward. Would recommend

Came here for breakfast for my flight back home. Decent prices and specials before 11am. The coffee was good. They have the good creamer i like. Not the international delights but real creamer. Pancakes were good. I tried the biscuit and gravy and was flavorful. The French toast is made with thick bread but they apparently dont use egg batter to make French toast which is very odd to me. It was ok but not having the egg batter for French toast doesn't really taste like French toast. Our server was nice and attentive.

Great place to dine. Service was superb and staff were helpful. Menus were a little large but we knew what we wanted. Ordered burgers which by the way were delicious. Onion rings tasted great but the sweet potato fries seemed lacking. Maybe they were cooked from frozen, don't know.

Nice, attractive, modern diner. Very clean with plenty of parking. Food was good, and reasonably priced. Our server was spot on. But acoustically, it is a very noisy place.

If you're looking for a classic diner then you're going to get it at this place. Food was good. Service was great and fast. Very clean when we were there. Looking forward to another visit soon! Loved it!

    Dining area before busy time.

Nice Diner, but year after year service is going down. Food quality too - this time our Crab stuffing shrimp were not cooked through and have a soggy feel for the price of 30$.... Mediterranean panini on sourdough bread was very good though side of potatoes salad and Cole slaw were tasteless. Quite disappointment for us.

Regular Salad with perfectly grilled Chicken and Cucumbers with the perfect bite. So Much flavor.

Second time here and this chicken salad did not disappoint. The service was quick, no complaints.

    The veggies were very good.

We were up in Albany, doing some shopping. This place was very busy on Friday at lunchtime. After eating here, we could see why . We were still seated right away. It had a great diner vibe on the inside and out, and had a very large. Menu of your typical diner food. Our server was Nick. He was fantastic. Helpful, friendly, and he even laughed at my jokes. :) he suggested that we start off with the raspberry iced tea. We liked it very much. For our meal, we started out with a cup of the potato leek soup. It came with my meal, my partner had it as a side. We both loved it. Lots of goodies on the inside, creamy and delicious. As often happens, we tore into it so fast, I forgot to get a picture. In addition to the soup, my partner had the side order of mac & cheese. For a side order, it was very large. She gave me a taste, and I have to agree with her. It was cheesy, creamy, and delicious. I decided to go with the turkey dinner. Lots of tender, delicious, turkey, a wonderful, rich, cream gravy, and out of this world cranberry sauce. Nick offered me more gravy, but it was plenty . The turkey also came on top of an amazing stuffing. Rich, and it had just a little bit of a sweet to it, but in a very good way, . It also came with veggies, which were nice and crisp, and a delicious rice pilaf on the side. It wasn't just plain white rice, either. We both had plenty of food to take home afterwards. The dessert case looked heavenly, but we left stuffed. The prices were extremely reasonable, and they even offered a military/veterans discount. A fantastic meal. We would like to come back. Thank you.

Typical diner, standard fare... nostalgic. Moving my kid into his dorm... decided to have dinner here, true to form - solid diner food. Don't go fancy when it's not a fancy spot. Friendly service, with a bit of humor, all good. Food comes out quick and got checked on for refills on sodas. The table was a bit dirty... there were left over syrup, made some spots sticky icky. We covered it with our napkin. Food: it's diner fare... loaded potato-skins... wish the skin was crispier and the inside was smashed... it was ok, but TGIF makes it better. Kids got Smokehouse BBQ burger was juicy but very sloppy to eat. And also a mushroom burger, it was good. Medium - not overcooked. Spaghetti & meatball... bland, the meatballs were heavily peppered... my younger one didn't hate it but said he wouldn't order again. He liked his side salad more (that says a lot for a 14yr old!). I got the Rueben... with pastrami... oh boy, it was very salty... so be sure to drink up to wash it down. I enjoyed it but definitely will suffer in the AM with bloating... sigh. Too full for dessert. Again, pretty standard. Looks like a local's fav spot! If you're in the mood for burgers & fries, this is a good option. #yelpingfromalbany #albany

Excellent, friendly service. Great ambiance. Comfortable seating. Lots of parking behind the restaurant. Very close to I-87. Both dishes my husband ordered were excellent. What I ordered not so excellent. The egg salad in my sandwich tasted like it wasn't made fresh that day and my tossed salad looked like it had been sliced/prepared in advance. I recommend you stick to the many menu items that must be freshly prepared for you and can't be prepared in advance.

Husband and I came for date night and we LOVED everything we had! The drinks the food the atmosphere, everything was perfect! The service was quick friendly and fun! I had the lavender mocktail which came with actual pieces of lavender in it and my husband had the other mocktail offered. Both had beautiful presentation that was so enticing! For food I had the chicken skewers which for hot honey was NOT spicy in the least so don't let that scare you away if you're sensitive to spice it's incredibly mild. I wish a small bit of rice/zucchini or something was served with the chicken to fill out the meal but the chicken itself was SO yummy!! we also ordered the shoestring truffle french fries and we were a little nervous cause shoestring could be really thin, but these were the perfect size. They weren't too thin and they were so yummy. My husband ordered the salmon and that equally was perfect, served with quinoa. After we both had the raspberry cake for dessert! I found the dessert to be larger than the dinner for myself and I had a hard time finishing it so my husband finished his and mine lol it was so so good!! it's a beautiful dining room with the screened in porch. There is a champagne vending machine for mimosas. If you come for brunch, they also offer catering. When we received out food the syrup was spilt by the server but they never refilled it for us. We also were given silverware and not napkins which to me feels a little odd. Our drinks arrival time was Staggered as well so we were not able to enjoy our drinks at the same time lest they become cold or no longer desirable. Despite all this both the food and drink were very good.

I had some time to spare recently after dropping my dog off at a veterinary clinic in Troy. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast Plate which turned out to be the most expensive breakfast on the menu. It came with a lot of food. It included eggs, Simit ( a Turkish sesame bagel), grapes, toast, honey, olives and cream cheese. I also ordered a Turkish coffee which is a little stronger than what I'm use to. It hit the spot. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant small but clean and cute. It looks as though the owners might have added a table. There are three or four tables in all. There's a new partition in the kitchen providing a little more distance between customers and those working on food prep. Gone are the beautiful ornate gold detailed Turkish dinner plates and teacups. I found them charming though not practical. I sort of miss them but they looked like heirloom items which wouldn't be appropriate for day-to-day use. They've been replaced by simple white dish-ware. Much more cost effective. FYI. There are no restrooms for customer use. That issue never came up for me but an older couple came in looking for a restroom and the owner advised them to go to the fast food restaurant down the street. As for the food, it was every bit as good as I expected. Some things don't change. I took the leftovers home and made another meal of it the next day.

This was my second time here--my first visit was dining in with friends, and this time I ordered takeout. Both experiences were consistently impressive. Known for its Ethiopian dishes and outstanding vegan cuisine, Umana Yana brings African culture to life through its vibrant décor, flavorful food, and thoughtfully crafted drinks. Every detail reflects passion and authenticity. It's no surprise that actress Tabitha Brown made a stop in Albany to experience the restaurant's highly praised vegan offerings. That's a testament to the reputation they've built. For my meal, I ordered the jerk lamb lollipops, jollof rice, and slaw. The lamb was tender, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of jerk seasoning. The jollof rice was rich, well-seasoned, and full of flavor, while the slaw added a fresh, crisp balance to the meal. On my previous visit, I tried the wings and waffles, and they were equally delicious. Two visits, two different meals, and not a single disappointment. Whether you're a longtime fan of African cuisine or looking to try something new, Umana Yana offers an experience that's just as memorable as the food itself. If you don't know, now you know. Black businesses in LA respect their people and take their businesses very seriously, so I assumed this place would do the same. Unfortunately, we were treated like pests over a small misunderstanding. The waitress-Mercy, misheard me on our drink preferences & began giving us the good ol " Caribbean" cold shoulder . Why so sensitive? The sorrel sangria had way too much cinnamon. Also, I wanted pikliz with my meal, but she did not return after the drink mishap. We quickly learned, this is not a BLACK BUSINESS, this is an AFRICAN BUSINESS & they will quickly show you the difference. Food & Drink: 3 Goat roti gave a a little stomach ache, but it was decent. Oxtain was not tender, not good. The plate was mostly bones & gravy & rice. Plantains & jollof were good. The drinks were delicious though, but they were not strong at all. Price: 2 Spent 100$ so basically 25$ for each item, including the drinks. Overpriced and very small portions. The sides are literal pints, like the babyfood jar size. I was like ??? We usually pay this much at high scale Haitian restaurants in Manhattan, and completely understand the price because we are experiencing amazing customer service, food, ambience &scenery. Better to order takeout, but i heard it very difficult to do that here. Idk lol weird. Black/Indigenous Americans, do not bring your money here. You are not completely welcome here.
