Came from out of town to see a concert here me other night. Spent a few hours in the cafe beforehand. The security guards at the concert were really nice, for the most part. I noticed one of them got irrationally aggressive at the end of the concert. The singer threw his shirt into the audience at the end of his set, and a few people had a grip on it and were tugging at it. It didn't seem too violent until the security guard jumped in. Other than that, I felt they did a good job protecting the artist and band while being respectful of the crowd. Before the concert started, I even noticed them watching YouTube videos of previous concerts from the same band so they could get an idea of what to expect... I was impressed by that. The cafe was OK. Seats were comfortable, but seemed worn out. I enjoyed the big windows that looked over the ice rink. Wifi isn't free; it costs £1 a day. Bathrooms... Wash closets... Toilets... Whatever... were clean and in good repair. I found the man working at the cafe during the day to be disrespectful. There was no meat served that day, at the request of the artist. Instead of explaining this to the customers that someone missed ALL of the posted signs about this in a decent way, he complained and made it clear how he found it ridiculous of the artist to request that , and sounded mocking. It got irritating hearing him make the same remarks to everyone. The two women working at the merch table were really nice and had bubbly personalities. The stage was pretty high; i'd guess it is about 7'... Maybe 7.5'. The barrier had to be further back than usual so the front row would be able to see. read more

A great venue for all types of music. Slightly smaller than some of its counterparts in other parts of the country and I must admit before my first visit, I did wonder if it would affect the gig. But I am pleased to say, the gig was fantastic (Queen!!) and the venue definitely played its part by delivering an electric atmosphere. Handy bar at the back of the standing area, means you don't miss any action while getting your drink! read more

For several years, Nottingham suffered by having only small venues which prevented big names from touring here. Thankfully, that has all changed. Based inside the National Ice Centre and with a seating capacity of 10,000, the Nottingham Trent Arena now has played host to a whole string of top class musicians such as Elton John, comedians such as lee Evans and sporting greats. The arena is large and you are guaranteed to have a great view wherever you sit. I've been several times already and have not been disappointed yet. It's definitely worth buying a ticket to see your favourite acts. read more

The Arena gives Nottingham the ability to host top notch indoor sports, entertainment and exhibition facilities. As well as hosting music concerts with the like of Bryan Adams and Oasis the Arena also plays hosts to the WWE Impact and Smackdown and other sporting events such as ice shows. In fact the Arena incorporates the National Ice Centre which was opened by local girl Jayne Torvill of Torvill and Dean fame. The Ice Centre plays host to the Nottingham Pathers Ice Hockey team. I've been there a couple of times and both times the place was packed. The staff there coped really well and always had a helpful friendly attitude. One thing i didnt like was not being able to bring my own drinks into the place, thereby forcing me to purchase the over priced offerings in the arena! All in all i found the experience of the Arena to be pleasant and the frontage is very nice. read more

I saw My Chemical Romance at the Capital FM Arena in February this year, and was in the 'Standing' section for the gig. I found my experience on the floor to be enjoyable, and the flooring laid down for the event was comfortable on the feet. The toilets were of decent quality, and getting into the venue was easy and hassle-free. The place looks quite nice from the outside, though it was a little hard to find for those not from Nottingham. I was (unusually for a 'Arena' in this country) allowed to take plastic bottles into the venue on that occasion, which was good to see. With my City Of Sheffield seeming to have less-and-less decent acts performing at it's Motorpoint Arena, this venue isn't too far from home for me and I will be seeing the Arctic Monkeys there in October. read more

To all the capital fm arena staff, I want to give me my thanks and appreciation, i'm in a wheelchair and attended the nxt wwe event. the staff where geniuenly amazing! They where kind, respectful and efficient. i have often had bad experiances being in a chair but they treated me really well, if they have disabled specific training then i offer massive compliments if not that it more wonderful. please pass this on to management. hope you all have an amazing christmas!! recently rebranded trent fm arena, this place is a great place for entertainment! there are regular concerts from people like boyzone, girls aloud and mcfly lee evans recently toured here as well, which was great the venue is huge and has great seats so no matter where you sit, you have a great view of the act! read more

I took my friends 15 yr old son too see Linkin Park and Biffy clyro here. For someone coming from outside of Nottingham it was really well signposted and Parking was a doddle. Once inside we found the staff to be helpful and friendly (not something I've experienced before at gigs!) The building was clean and tidy with ample facilities and the beer wasn't too overpriced either (£3 a pint i believe)! Once we were into the arena we were shown to our seats, we had cracking views of the band and had a very enjoyable evening. After the gig we made the usual mad dash back to the car but found ample exits and we were out of the car park in no time at all. A really good venue which i would thoroughly recommend to anyone. read more

The trent fm arena is great place to see a variety of different entertainment. Panthers ice hockey matches, cometitions such as cheerleading, religious convensions as well as concerts and ice shows. The arena is easy to find, they do not have much car parking spaces, but there are plenty of other transport links in nottingham such as the buses and trams. The arena is frequented by many famous artists with styles to suit everybody. Tickets for the venue can be easily purchased while in the city from the box office located inside the arena. It's clean friendly there's plenty of staff and security around during events. read more

A really good venue. It is very big and some great bands play here. You have a good view from where ever you sit. The venue is easy to get to. The prices of drinks and food is average. There are plenty of places to buy merchandise and programmes from. read more

Haven't seen a duff gig yet at the Arena, be it Morrissey and Arcade Fire (standing) or Foo Fighters and Roxy Music(seated). If you want to see gigs as nature intended and go for the standing section, it's always very well monitored with a breathing section at the back, seating has good views, lots of choice, and it's truly fantastic to have a venue this size in Nottingham which can house all those big famous acts. Trent FM arena is nottingham areana for large UK bands when they tour the UK. Many bigs names have been to the arena over the years since it has been built, and has bult a reputation of being a great live arena. The area has recently been renamed, and is located to the North East of the city centre, close to Hockley. Parking can be an issue, and some events a little over-priced to some other areans around the UK. Ive been to nottingham arena 3 times and have been impressed everytime. If going to a gig I recomend you come by car as the trains dont seem to run long enought to be able to get home. read more

The Arena is where the main concerts are held in Nottingham and is easy to find in the city centre. There is no parking but you can easily find somewhere to park on a side street nearby and have a short walk in. The place is huge but well manned with staff to direct you and large signs help you work out where you are. There are plenty of food and drink places around the edge for take away items but the prices are very expensive. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take your own food and drink in so you are forced to pay the prices! Inside, the arena is well designed with tiered seating, of which you can book online, and see a map of where your seats are in relation to the stage. Seating in comfortable and you get a good view of the stage from wherever you are. Very impressive! read more

A good, if a little small, venue for a variety of acts. On my visits here, the staff have always been well informed and helpful. The acoustics are pretty good and the selection of acts on offer are wide ranging. The venue attracts some pretty big names and is an asset to Nottingham! The prices can vary widely for the acts on offer, but tend to be good value. The bar is a nice place to wait and is clean and tidy with pretty typical prices. Parking can be an issue, but if you turn up early there is no problem! read more

Seen several headline bands here, shame about not being able to park, but the place is very well staffed. great venue.

I've seen Oasis here (3 times) Stereophonics, Lee Evans, McFly, Will Young, Football masters, Ice Hockey, Nemo on ice and loads more (even Craig David!!) And its a brilliant place, good sound, great atmosphere, good staff, the beer could be cheaper, but hey. Its a great venue and is attracting bigger and better names all the time. Even when there's a small gig on, the atmosphere is great. They even diversify and have people like Dalai Lama and Jehovas Witness confrences Here. Overall a Brilliant place and great for this city. read more

On a recent visit to this venue (Sat 9th April 2011) in order to buy tickets for an upcoming event my wife and I were appalled by the lack of basic manners and zero customer service skills displayed by a lady in an apparent supervisory role at the box office at the Trent FM Arena. Midway through a transaction to buy two tickets to the value of ninety pounds we opted to use the nearby cash machine rather than pay the ten percent booking fee requested by the venue. We returned to the window to complete the transaction with the same clerk, the "lady" who was apparently the supervisor came from behind the clerk and lowered the position closed blind right in front of our faces, no explanation, no "would you mind moving to the next window to complete your transaction Sir? The customer in this venue is obviously not always right. Might I suggest some training from the management team on basic customer service skills. It is a shame when a multi million pound venue can be spoiled by basic manners which cost nothing. Needless to say the ninety pounds is still in my pocket. Mr J. Nottingham Arena (or the Trent FM Arena as it is now known), is Nottingham's largest indoor live performance venue and plays host to a remarkable variety of acts. I have attended on several occasions and found that the place often has very little atmosphere. Personally I prefer to see bands in smaller, more intimate venues. However, as the only way to see the more popular artists is often on an arena tour, I suppose this just has to be accepted. That said, I have found that other arenas, such as the ones in Sheffield and Manchester, seem to have more of a sense of occasion about them. In terms of reaching the venue by car, I imagine that, if you were a non-local navigating your way to Nottingham Arena for a popular gig and then trying to find a parking space it would be a potential nightmare. I was walking through town on the evening of a James Blunt concert and it seemed as if, traffic-wise, the whole area around the arena had ground to a halt. Ticket prices are often on the steep side. read more

Great transport links, tram stop is less than 5 minutes walk away- Lace Market (best to use the park and ride, tram ticket on £2.70 all day as oppose to the cost of parking in town and the queue to pay after a concert). Regular visitor to the arena being a season ticket holder for the local ice hocket team based there and must say this is the best arena by far for ice hockey. The food choice is slowly getting better although they do let themselves down by not offering non alcoholic beers such as Becks, considering a high percentage of people drive here I feel they are lettting the customers down. Best blocks to be in for seated concerts would have to be blocks 4, 5, 15 and 16 (blocks 5 and 15 for ice hockey). These are closest to the stage, to sit further away you might end up watching the big screens instead to get a better view (something I always try to stop myself doing but never manage it and then get angry with myself as I've paid a lot of money to see the band not a big screen). The diversity of the acts is fantastic, the Dalai Lama to Foo Fighters, Pink to Strictly Come Dancing. So glad Nottingham is finally on the arena map. read more

This is located near the lace market in Nottingham. The transport links are not too great to come to the arena but with a short walk if you dont mind a little walk its about 5 minutes. Parking is again abit of a walk away. Ive been here to see a few things like WWE wrestling and a few people i wont admit to on here ;O) The staff and security have always seemed professional and are friendly enough. The bootleg sellers outside are quite annoying but i suppose you get them at every event that they can make extra money at . read more
