I closed my Iberia Bank(now owned by First Horizon) and I was also a Midsouth Bank customer several years back. I will have to admit I was a little irritated when I first came to Capital One because I was expecting the same routine as every other bank around. That would be bring in multiple pieces of ID, a cashiers check and/or cash to open the account and do it at a time where you have an hour or more to spare. What I found was that most everything is done by you, the customer online and you don't even need to go into the location! It can literally all be done online (I assume but maybe there are exceptions). So, once they walked me though the process online I went home and opened my savings, CD and an account for my wife in just minutes. I've seen the commercials and they call it "banking reimagined" and Samuel L. Jackson is always saying "what's in your wallet?". In the end and after understanding the difference in philosophy which is really an approach of "the customer controls their accounts" I can say I am much happier with Capital One then I am any of the other 5 or 6 banks I've been using over the last 25 years. It doesn't cost anything to join and when you look at the fees other banks charge for services and the minimums, you'll quickly see the advantages of banking here. Enjoy!

I have been banking with this bank for 2 years and earlier last…read moremonth on the 10th I had my card hacked and had 10 unwanted transactions and the bank waited till I was overdraft to stop it. I had my card canceled 3 times and when I tried to explain to a bank teller over the phone and they started to get frustrated as I have called them 5 times in a week to try and figure out what is going on they where no help at all and they should have blocked it when the first transaction went through! I am overdrafted -58$ without my control and they say I ow the bank 58$ even though I had no control over the transactions they shouldn't have waited till I was overdrafted to do something and I shouldn't have to call them 5 times to get it fixed. I will be leaving this bank soon.

I am mostly happy…read morewith the service of the branch as a whole, but the ATM here has been unable to dispense cash more times than I can count. It's annoying as hell to not be able to get cash whenever I want to. For example (and this is what prompted me to write this review) I stopped by around 3:30pm on Monday to get some dollars and the ATM informed me it could not dispense cash. Ok, things happen...I get it. Went back the next day...no bueno and then again this morning-no dice. I mean what the hell?! I had to go to another location to get cash. It's not that big of a deal but annoying to not have access to MY money when I need or want it. I'm not going to stop banking with Chase but I'm not shouting from the rooftops about how great the service is either.
