Years…read more However, whether it was Covid or being absorbed into Luminis, they have become busy enough that good care only exists if you are lucky or very important. They are scheduling out anywhere from 2-6 weeks for appointments. Diagnoses for care are made at the scheduling level at times therefore restricting your care options. Calls for appointments, even recommended by a practice physician, require you to leave a message, so if you receive a call from scheduling TAKE it, and cancel everything including work to make whatever appointment they offer. This will provide your best opportunity for successful treatment. My first visit on this most recent issue was diagnosed based on X-rays and MRIs that were taken at least a year ago. 9 weeks later I still have no resolution to my questions or the pain that I experience on a daily basis. If you can find responsive care outside of this practice or any of its sister locations I highly recommend it at this point.

I had rotator cuff surgery. It went well. The problem is the physical therapy. I had already been in PT prior to having surgery and didn't have many of my 30 available sessions remaining. I called my insurance company and they were very specific with me that I could get more sessions however my doctor must call a special number to request more visits. I contacted his office and they said NO, they do not talk to insurance companies and that my PT place simply had to send in a new order. I tried it. It didn't work. Talked to insurance again and they said Doc must call. Made an appointment. paid to go see him. explained the situation. he said he would call. after a week insurance says he hasn't called so I email him and receive response from an office person who tells me that they will not call insurance. So here I sit. Having racked up THOUSANDS of dollars in PT expenses I cannot afford to go anymore. My shoulder is not healed. I am still in pain. My doctor's office won't make one phone call for me. My insurance company will not approve more PT until they talk to doctor. And on I go. Looks like my surgery was a waste of time and loads of money as I cant go back to PT to complete my rehab unless I rob a bank. Health "Care" in this country is broken.

I was surprised to be subjected to so many reps and sets to different exercises on the first visit. The next few days I was hurting and not happy with that fact. My hope was to learn what exercises I needed and the proper way to execute them rather than over doing it on my first visit. Decided to forget about traveling to a PT location and come up with my own exercise plan and perform them at my own pace in the comfort of my home which I've done since that first visit and it's working out well. I learn more using Google and watching YouTube videos and no traveling anywhere and no co-pays to Medicare! Maybe going to PT will work out for you but I wasn't for me. Your mileage may vary!

Dr Mustafa examined me and took an X-ray . I was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday. I was Dr Mustafa's last surgery on Tuesday afternoon. He put a titanium plate in my wrist. I did physical therapy with Maher Kharma into August 2019. Both Dr Mustafa and Mäher Kharma helped me get back to my old self , I can't thank them enough for their help in my time of need. What a difference a year makes, I reflect back on what my experience would have been like had I broken my wrist in 2020 instead of 2019. You will need to leave several and they will not call you back. I have requested my medical records about 3 weeks ago and after numerous calls to the records person and the office manager, I am not getting anywhere. I need my records and they won't release them. They told me they will mail them and I still don't have them. The office is a joke. I am not going back there because I can't and won't deal with the staff. It has really gone downhill.

I've had numerous other appointments for testing and pre and post-op. I think the confusion is with the multiple locations and rehab centers. So the overall rating here is not accurate in my opinion. My partner is now seeing a doctor here and is very satisfied. I go to the Belcher Pavilion and the Bowie location. The Bowie location can be VERY busy but it's smaller so it looks busier. The AAMC location is very busy but it's huge - segmented into different sections for backs, legs, knees, etc... I just had my second carpal tunnel surgery last week and here from Dr. G I am typing away. My major back surgery was a success from Dr. S and I'm so happy.

I have always been able to speak to someone directly in the office when needed. The new P.A. Marjory has been great....she listens and always checks in with me regarding other medical issues I may be having and I am seen on time! I have had a couple of injections in both neck and back with positive results and will continue as long as needed. It's been a blessing to have my pain reduced and stabilized.
