I had a breast augmentation done, I was so excited that they could get me in, in just a few weeks. This should have been my first red flag My doctor advised me on 2 options for size both that were supposed to fill out my breast and would fit nicely. I chose to go with the larger of the 2 options he gave. I have to say immediately after surgery I was very happy with my results. I breasts looked like I had asked for and everything was fine for the first few months. However after all the swelling had gone down I noticed that there were areas of my breast that cave in- are are extremely noticeable even more so when I lay down. Something I never had before my surgery. Months after my surgery one day I suddenly felt pain in my right breast, it became hard and I could feel a gap between my implant and breast bone. I spoke with a nurse who told me it sounded like my implant was encapsulated. I scheduled an apt with my doctor hoping we could address the issue and walked away so frustrated. He told me my breasts looked great, nothing was wrong, everything was normal and he was confused why I was upset. He kept looking at them saying "they look beautiful". That was the end of my apt. No solution, no fix. I'm writing this a month after that apt. At this point my only option is to find another doctor and redo them. I paid nearly 3k more than most other doctors quotes (I figured I paid more for a better doctor- I was wrong). I went to get my breasts done to feel and look better. At this point I have one natural looking/feeling breast the implant feels good- I can't even tell it's there. The other has craters around the implant, is firm, I can feel it move around and sometimes is painful. They assured me they were in the top 1% of doctors, they were all friendly but it's all talk- the actual results are awful. I'm so upset and disappointed. Extremely disappointed with my experience. I shouldn't have been impressed by the celebrity pics, and should have asked more questions, and that's on me. Everything went smoothly before my surgery, perhaps because I paid upfront and I didn't ask too many questions and just wanted to get it done and over with, but it was terribly disheartening the way that I was treated once I had questions a few months after surgery. I wasn't even able to finish my sentence when Dr. Grossman scurried out of the room and refused to address my concerns with regard to collapse of my nostril after he removed too much cartilage. From my understanding, there's no way to know this has happened until after you've healed. My issue is not necessarily with the outcome of the surgery, but more so with how it was handled. Before my surgery, my calls were always returned promptly by the office staff. After, not so much. After many attempts to express my concerns on the outcome of the surgery, I was given the opportunity to meet with Dr. Capraro, as I was not comfortable returning to Dr. Grossman. During this visit, Dr. Capraro acknowledged the collapse, and indicated that a revision surgery would be the best course of action, and quickly referred me back to Dr. Grossman. I have one word for this doctor, BUCHER!!! I had a breast implants procedure and he did such a horrible job. I have scars so visible with a wrong location and post inflammatory pigmentation after 10 years. The placement, size, and symmetry is just so bad. When I confronted him about that, he just gave me a several excuses , never apologized or try correct his mistakes. He is not trustworthy, has no integrity, whatever we discussed prior my surgery and what happened afterwords it was two or different stories. I wish I could go lower. I needed a medically necessary reduction. Dr. Grossman was the only doctor covered by my insurance, and refused to do it unless I paid out of pocket for a minor aesthetic only add on to remove the little rolls under my arms that my insurance would OF course refused, 100% reasonably in this instance. That "minor add on" added 10K of cost (for the same procedures-they were going to charge me and my insurance for the same things). I didn't want it (My huge boobs were the only reasons I had a roll there, and they did-and have-melted away when I can be more active.) Even after I begged, explained the intense pain they caused me, that i didn't care much at all how it looked as long as I wasn't in extreme pain anymore, he refused to do it because HE wouldn't like the way it looked. And also because he would get paid twice, which I'm sure had nothing to do with it. Now, several years down the line I am having major pain issues, my quality of life has gone down and I'm facing more drastic reperative surgery for the issues on my spine later down the line, but my rolls did go away so probably a success by Dr. Grossman's standards. While I have no clue how good a plastic surgeon he is, in the whole Hippocratic Oath area he failed so hard I wouldn't trust him. read more

I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before putting any money down for a proceedure. Grossman Capraro stole my $1400.00 deposit form me and refused to give it back. Dr. is very professional and great personality. Issues are with back office processing. Office states they work with insurance. They submit the claim and if denied, they do not file an appeal. This was not discussed in the consultation appointment. If insurance is asking for more information by way of peer to peer call, office states Dr. does not spend time on peer to peer call advocating for the patient; after they stated they would schedule the peer to peer call. Office doesn't have procedures in place to have a PA or insurance contact to make the call? There is no sense of urgency by office, and lies were told to conceal their mistakes. After speaking with referring physician, it's suspected the Dr. isn't aware of the office practices. Office can make the determination if they want to accept insurance. Don't string the patient along if you're not willing to work with the insurance company. Simply don't accept insurance and take cash payment for the extremely overpriced services charged. Addition: To respond to the below reply. Their office offered to file the appeal (we did not ask them to) and mislead us into thinking they would resolve the request by the insurance company by promising to schedule a peer/peer call. My sister went in about 4 months ago. All she wanted was a replacement for the implants; nothing else. She is very unhappy; and to see them is not what what you would expect from someone that was entrusted by the Dolly Parton herself. She has still not healed, she has open wounds, her areolas do not match in size, and her nipples do not line up. Her surgery was almost $16,000; Dr. Grossman and his 5 other surgical staff that were all in the surgical room, refuse to take blame; rather, he offered to fix it, but wants to charge her more money. They are adamant that they need to charge for an assistant in surgery. I don't think the assistant did a great job the first time; or we would not be providing a bad review here. This is ridiculous; in my business, if we mess up on a display, we take every effort to repair or fix it for our clients. If you are going to use Dolly Parton as your advertising; you ought to have your office back up that reputation. read more

I only saw 1 review in 2020 for Grossman, etc plastic surgery - I found that odd. My experience began with them not even getting the administrative stuff right. Booked me at a location I HAD NOT requested, then neglected to confirm which office it was for, so I arrived at one, only to have to scramble and drive another 20 minutes out of my way to another one. Their 'clinic manager' was drunk with power, demanding I answer every question, ad nauseum. Made for a comfortable segue to my procedure with her. Got home and she evidently hit a muscle below my eye -- I've had dozens of injections over as many years for smile lines area, and never experienced this outcome, or even close. Looks like I was sucker punched. My remaining comments would simply be about basic customer service: just because you apologize to a patient, it's the delivery tone and manner that others notice, not the actual words. I went in and had my skin lifted on my forehead at the scalp line. It was an in office procedure and went well. It looked great for a month and then my forehead sagged again It was if I had never had the procedure. Bummer. When I went back in and Dr. Caprero simply said sometimes they don't work out. Nothing more. He offered nothing to help the situation. I asked if they would give me a discount on the Botox that he suggested since the skin lift did not work. I was extremely excited to meet with dr. Grossman. I've heard wonderful things. Finally the day had come and I went in for a consultation.... Dr. Grossman doesn't care about you as a patient. He will say you need a boob job and full on tummy tuck. Never mind you are there to get lipo on your arms. One of procedures we had talk about was $2000 fat injection. After researching I found out that this procedure is not affective and only 20% of fat sells survive due to blood supply in this particular area. Dr. Grossman not only "forgot" to mention that, but guaranteed great results. Overall experience: 2.5 hours appointment including 1.5 hours of wait. After the consultation I was left in the room to wait for my estimate. 35 minutes later I walked out and start wondering around looking for a spa representative. It was 4:45pm and everything was dark. Finally I found a room with 2 employees. A woman said: oh, I did t forget about you. Our computer is acting up and it will be a moment. Go back to the room and wait. Sure, things happen, but some kind of communication would be nice. I thought everyone had left and forgot about me. I finally got my estimate which came to $25,000. The price is unheard of for what I needed. A friend of mine had exactly the same surgery done with another doctor for 10k and very happy with that. Please take the negative reviews here seriously. Something made me very uneasy about these people. I went in for a consultation to remove a lipoma on my face. I'll get to that in a bit. To preface, I arrived at their office after having just spent four days/nights in the hospital with my very sick mother. Did I look disheveled, yes. Was I still in my sweats, yes. Was I exhausted, yes. Did I have time to dress up like some plastic Beverly Hills type, no. The doctor seemed nice enough, but the patronizing and condescending attitude from the minimum wage, over-dressed office manager, was extremely off-putting. I own a home in Boulder and another one in Breckenridge and I have some two-bit office manager saying things to me like,"Do you understand where you are? These doctors are the best in the country, blah, blah, blah", like I wasn't good enough to be there. Then she starts pushing some financial assistance credit card on me. Really!! How insulting, presumptive and again, condescending. Here's the worst part. The office manager suggests, to make the procedure less expensive, that the physician assistant do the procedure. Mind you, I never said anything about the cost of $2500 being unaffordable, though seemed a bit steep considering it is a quick, easy, procedure. To top it off, the physician assistant would charge $1800. I'm not even sure it's legal for a PA to preform surgery and if I wanted that, I would just have gone to my skin doctor, who would put the procedure through insurance and end up costing me about $500. Bottom line, they seem to be full of themselves, out to rip people off and rude. Oh and I will call the medical board about a PA performing surgery No thanks. read more

I had an explant and lift in February of 2019. Everything went as planned and I love the way he took the time to lift the little bit that I had left in my breasts. I left my other surgeon because of a recommendation for Dr. Grossman and I am so glad I did. He could see my concern with my back pain from my implants and didn't try to push me in to new/smaller implants. Can't thank him enough. One year ago I was bitten by a dog and needed stitches. The hospital staff in the ER told me there was a plastic surgeon who is willing to do it. I was told I have to wait two hours. So I did. In the end it was a gross mistake. I was charged $1500 because Dr. Capraro (a partner with Dr Grossman) are too fancy and too sophisticated to accept medical assistance as payment. They didn't tell me until my stitches were removed and I was asked to write a check for $1500. I was unemployed at the time. Now I've been sent to collections - a company called Saturn Systems. They call me twice a day and yell on the phone. I made under 10 grand last year. I have not had money to pay my bills adequately. I am loaned money by my ex-husband every month just to meet my basic needs. I have been looking for a job and am currently under employed (read $9 an hour) but at least I'm working. I have to go to the food shelf. I dont buy clothes, go out to eat, have any sort of vacations or even have the money to buy a 12 pack of soda. Dr. Grossman & Associates doesn't need another fancy chair for the office. They need to humble themselves a little bit and accept people with medical assistance OR DONT DO THE WORK! I was, after all, an ER patient. It was an emergency. I still have a tremendous scar so I don't even think I got $1500 worth of stitches. Any ER doctor could've done better than the hack job scar I have on my chin. Don't go to Dr. Grossman's office. Don't waste your time. They just want my money for more fancy furniture in the over dressed waiting room. They DO NOT care about HELPING people. If they did I would have been able to pay with my medical assistance insurance. I was duped and then considered a bum because I couldn't write the check. I tell EVERYONE how I was treated. We need to speak out against unfair treatment based on our financial circumstances. Medical assistance is NOT something I am ashamed of. Dr. Philippe Capraro recently performed my breast reconstruction following lumpectomy and radiation (radiated tissues are much more challenging for a surgeon to deal with). I cannot stress enough how much I wish I had not gone to Grossman/Capraro Plastic Surgery. I only wanted to get updated implants to last me the rest of my life, since mine were 15 years old and saline. Dr. John Grossman is using Dolly Parton as his big name, so I chose him. Upon my first visit, I was checked in then forgotten. I asked after 45 minutes how much longer it would be, and No One remembered I was there; I should have walked out then. I was told March 11th 2021 the day of surgery things had gone smoothly and I wore the fitted corset bra for two weeks. I went in for my two week follow up on March 23rd to let them know at that time my areolas and nipples were not symmetrical and wanted to discuss why my left implant sat far higher than my right implant. I was told they wouldn't heal the same, and I was given orders to "apply pressure to the upper pole of the left implant to stretch the tightness" twice a day, 10 compressions each. My breasts look like they belong on two people. I spent $16,000 to look like a bad joke. I am a single mother who worked over 1,000 hours to pay for this surgery. My own mother, not some frenemy, stifled her laugh when she saw my breasts. The sutures used have been trying to escape my skin and are coming out of all areas (areolas and under breasts) and causing daily pain, discomfort and open sores. I have not hardly healed after nearly 4 months. On March 4th before my surgery, I was told they wanted to be sure I was happy. Once I mentioned I was unhappy and showed them why, suddenly I am the bad guy. When I went back on May 11th and was distraught that my chest was a punchline, the doctor said my nipples don't line up because I "have stretched after surgery." Firstly, they were not aligned after the first two weeks when I wore that constraining bra, they look nothing like each other and never have, then I was given orders to stretch them with compressions! Dr. Grossman's advice was "Keep them covered." I am not sure why I bothered to spend $16,000 to give up my implants and my lovely symmetrical nipples to keep them covered. Now Grossman/Capraro wants to charge me to fix them. (I personally feel I am due a Full Refund, while they want more money.) I feel it would be right for the practice to cover all fees, but they are adamant a fee for an assistant cannot be waived and they are somehow justified in expecting me to pay to correct my Frankensteins monster appearance. The amount they are asking me to pay I am sure they make 10 times over a day. This whole experience has broken my heart and I am afraid I will always look like a freak when I only wanted to change out my saline implants that were 15 years old. Since the sutures are not healing I am very concerned. I am still open to suggestions on the best route to take. If there are any referrals you trust to do miracle repair work, I would be grateful for their contact information. I have gotten a second opinion from one surgeon who said they were "not optimistic about achieving nipple symmetry." After the rave referrals for GPS, I had high hopes that this would be the team to help me, but after just the initial consultation, I'll definitely schedule the procedure with someone else; anyone else. Prior to the appointment, I was asked to go to their online "patient portal" site to submit all of my personal and medical history. This is a decent feature, but unfortunately GPS staff, and Dr Capraro, failed to make any use of it before or during the consultation. It was a complete waste of time as both staff and Capraro obviously didn't read what I submitted, and ended up asking me verbally for all the same information once I was in their office. Bells and whistles, like this, don't usually do much for me, and in this case, did nothing at all except waste my time. I scheduled my appointment for 2:15, after being assured that I would then avoid rush hour and have plenty of time to make it to my 4:15 meeting, which was a new client for my practice. I arrived early and was sitting in a consultation room at precisely 2:15. And I sat there until 3:00 when I went back to the reception area and asked staff to place the $75 initial consultation fee back on my card, as I had to leave, navigate rush hour traffic, and somehow make it to my next meeting on time. I've never seen anyone move so fast to get the Doctor back on schedule, and suddenly Capraro was immediately available. Unfortunately, due to this office's complete lack of respect for my time, I was late to my 4:15 meeting, and my lack of punctuality did not go unnoticed. The market has gone completely soft in my own profession, and I really didn't need to lose a potential client, especially over something completely avoidable. Thanks, Dr. Capraro! First, I have to say, the surgery my son had seems so far to have been done well. It was a fairly simple outpatient procedure, and Dr. Baker was very nice. In fact, everyone in the Greenwood Village office was super nice. However, I would not recommend this surgeon and would not return for another procedure. The first issue came from the pre-op physical. Grossman-Capraro requires expensive HIV, Hep B and Hep C testing prior to surgery for ALL patients just in case the patient later contracts one of these diseases and tries to sue them. When I suggested they must have a higher than average incidence of this since no other surgeon requires it, the "COO" of the practice, threatened to cancel the surgery 24 hours prior to surgery. They don't care about having the results prior to surgery, only that the patient has the test done. When I wrote to Dr. Grossman later suggesting that since this is for the protection of the practice, they should pay for it, he responded with a polite letter that was not in the least satisfactory (and not even completely truthful). He said they agreed to let the surgery proceed prior to receiving the results because my son was looking forward to getting it done. This was a lie because I was told by the nurse, before I ever spoke to the COO much less her having an opportunity to talk to Dr. Grossman that they don't need those results prior to surgery. In response to our personal physician saying the tests were not needed, he said, "we generally do not have physicians that do not follow [our] orders." (We happen to be fortunate enough to have a PCP who actually cares about us, our expenses, and risks). The icing on the cake, was at the first post-op appointment when the nurse who consulted with the office PA said that pain in my son's arm that started 2 days after surgery and was becoming unbearable could not be related to the surgery because they did not do anything to the arm. They suggested seeing our PCP. Our PCP was able to diagnose it over the phone as phlebitis, a common post-op problem that was easily fixed with an ace bandage and a heating pad. At the second post op, we actually saw the surgeon and he confirmed that is common. Any normal visit to a PCP for this type of complaint would have cost us even more. I suggest finding a practice with doctors who care about the people, not just the bottom line. read more

Went to Dr. Grossman a while ago for rhinoplasty. Not sure why I picked him as he specializes in boobs, but he seemed to have all the right credentials. The website was professional, he worked in a hospital...the office was upscale...etc. This was back before the days of yelp and other internet reviews. Initial consultation was okay...he sped through everything, but that seemed par for the course on other meetings I had with other Dr's. Surgery went great, I loved my new nose after the bandages were removed....but once the swelling went down...ugh. Just awful! Completely crooked...one side collapsed over a few months. I couldn't even put on a snorkeling mask because the bridge was so crooked. Geez. The entire decision to even get a nose job is stressful enough...because you're always thinking "what happens if something goes wrong?" Well that came to fruition. Nice...$7k out the window! Or was it 9k? lol That's a lot of savings to just throw away... I had to save up for another few years to get a 2nd procedure done to fix the mess Dr. Grossman did. I went to a couple other top doctors here in Denver and they really felt bad about what happened. They both said anyone wanting a facial surgery really should go to a Dr that specializes in that particular surgery....not someone who does everything. They also said I might be able to get my money back, or part...but no way did I want Dr. Grossman anywhere near me again, and to be honest, it's like getting ripped off at a car dealership...you just accept your bad outcome, and never go there again because it's too painful to relive everything. If you're going for something other than a nose job, he might do great work, but if you're looking to have a rhino done...eeehhhh...really would not recommend him. In fact, I would say run far away and FAST. I would recommend going to 3 or 4 doctors, and ask them for referrals. They were happy to list other top Dr's in Denver. I ended up going to Dr. Bent Smith, and he was beyond awesome. My nose isn't perfect now because of the mess from the first rhino, but it's pretty darn close....whew. read more

I went in for an office visit/consultation....the staff was nice. Doctors were nice. Doctors explained everything and answered all my questions (I had a lot). They charge a consultation fee of $75.00 because "you're spending time with The Doctor" - did not like that. I went to another plastic surgeon for an opinion and spent time with The Doctor and they did NOT charge a consultation fee there. gotta say they are very proud of their prices. I don't know, the consultation fee just rubbed me the wrong way. They are already higher than other doctors i saw and still want to charge a fee. It's like they want every penny they can get. My experience couldn't have been better, from the moment I walked through the door, I was treated so kindly and professionally. I had several consultations with other physicians but never felt as comfortable as I did with Dr Grossman. Yes, he is a little bit more expensive, you pay for the experience as well as the safe feeling of having your surgery done in the hospital.
