very rude and disrespectful!!! i tried to get Mr.Ron to repair a scooter for me and he only takes zelle as payment so i had to use family for help and she got the number wrong but it showed the name he sent so when i made attempt to confirm he replied ' HE DIDNT RECEIVE THE PAYMENT AND THE SCREENSHOT WAS BLURRY AND GOOD LUCK TRY AGAIN'!!! so i felt and thought i got scammed bc before i sent the money he was talking fine soon as i tried and failed he said try again good luck.. This guy charged me for 2 visits to fix a gas issue with my scooter. Had to come a 2nd time because he didn't have the parts(gasket) to finish the job. I paid $650 and my scooter runs but still has issues bogging out. They also installed tires on my scooter scratching my rims in the process. When they reinstalled my front wheel they put both of My front pads on one side of my rotor. My rotor is now scratched. $650 my entire fuel delivery system should be 100%. Paid will Zelle so I'm basically screwed. He does not back up his work. Do yourself a favor and pay for a tow. read more

I took my scooter to Ron. So he could get a stud out of my gasket from the exhaust. And to put a new exhaust on. He told me he would do it for $350. When he got the job done he didn't say anything to me. We chit chatted for 15 minutes. When he told me he does not do cash app because he got scammed. So I went to go to the ATM. Before I left I asked Ron 250 right he goes no it's 350. I asked Ron why wouldn't you tell me this when it happened. He told me it took him longer than usual and that's why it's so much. I ended up giving him 260. I messaged him the next day to square things up. Ron wasn't having it. He kept calling me a junkie and told me that my girlfriend has a foul mouth and that I need to put a muzzle over her mouth. He called both of us out of character for no reason. If anybody wants me to prove it I have all the screenshots. For some reason it won't allow me to post it. For future reference if anyone deals with Ron always get a report of what work he does and how much the total is. Because he will change it on you without letting you know. Update: The drive belt snapped the first time using the scooter while on the way back from Key Biscayne to Miami Beach on over the weekend and I left it on the side of the highway. I paid for a new drive belt at the Vespa store and they picked the drive belt up from me the following day and then went to fix the scooter on the highway. They were unable to fix the scooter and so they took transported it to where they live and on Sunday drove it to my apartment building and attempted to fix the bike in my garage. I would have preferred they bring it to me already fixed. They did install the new drive belt but while fixing that they told me I need to buy a new circulating fan and that I need to find jumper cables to jumpstart the battery (they did not bring their own). It's a minor inconvenience because I need to take out the battery and walk or get an Uber to an auto parts store, have them charge it during the day, pick it up again, and install the battery. I did all of that and a few days later was able to get it started with the button and the new belt began working but that's unfortunately as far as we got. After fixing it the kickstart does not work properly anymore. It was working fine and now it gets jammed and clicks when trying to kickstart it. I pointed this out and they tried to fix it but could not and so I need a few new parts that are not expensive but a hassle to obtain. I will also need to buy a new "cluch dog" and have that installed. Since getting the bike started with the battery it does start but makes an awfully loud noise and the kickstart is vibrating too much that it just snaps down when running the bike and if my foot was below it surely would have seriously injured me. Captain Ron came out the following day and attempted to fix it but again was unable to get it to ride safely and I'll need to bring it to the Vespa dealer at this point. He did not charge me for the last visit. He has also been communicative and respectful helping me by text message and responding quickly as needed. Overall, it's an older Vespa with 16,000 miles and when you mess with one thing it seems like it creates a new issue. I think that's the deal with auto in general. I changed this from 5 to 4 stars because no matter the reasoning, the scooter broke on the first use, and after fixing it the kickstart does not work and it needs additional new parts. With better planning (fixing it before bringing it to me, not trying to fix it at my apartment on a Sunday when the Vespa store is closed, and some carelessness like forgetting to put back on the mirrors I feel the new rating is justified. Original Review: Ron and his trainee fixed my 2002 2-stroke Vespa scooter in an hour at my apartment in South Beach. The battery would not start so it had to be started by the kickstart and the fuel was leaking. The pricing was fair and the work appears to be quality. I'll update the review if anything changes after riding it a few times more. He also advised me on a few extra things like to get the tires filled with more air and that i'll eventually need a new drive belt. I was very happy with the punctuality, friendliness, and most important the efficient, quick, and quality repair. I'm now ready to drive my old Vespa through the streets of Miami again :) read more

So I had just bought a scooter and thought everything was all great but i was wrong. As I was riding it home it was smoking from overheating and had no oil. So I am desperate so I search online for emergency help and there he was CAPTAIN RON. So even tho it was late I let him know what was wrong and he came the next morning . The owner of the shop tried to extort 50,000 from a well know business owner who has a 3.5 million dollar business of his own. He is registered with sun biz and has insurance. Captain Ron's shop doesn't. Captain Ron's also gets horrible reviews. My friend the business owner doesn't get horrible reviews. My friend repaired a motorcycle in his shop due to Captain Ron's shop made the problem 10 times worse then when motorcycle came in shop to repair. I'm very surprised this shop is still in business. I recently moved from Seattle and bought a used Yamaha C3 for $700 on Craigslist. It was working great for 4 days and over 150 miles. And then it kept stalling. Finally it would not start at all. Great. My luck has been pretty terrible with scooters in the past, as it continues to be... My first move was to check Yelp for Scooter repair here in Fort Lauderdale, but no one seemed to have more than one or two reviews. I called around and was referred to Captain Ron. I called him and left a message. He will come to you. No towing required which was nice. 2 stars for response time and customer service. He called me back within 15 minutes and we set an appointment for Tuesday. But in the end, nothing was offered after my problem was misdiagnosed and I was sold a battery that I didn't need and charged for a repair which lasted all of 15 minutes (see the rest of the review). 3 stars for price. The hourly rate was $80 and $50 for the house call. So all in all, average rates. 1 star for job completion. He arrived on time with another guy named John. He had never worked on a Yamaha C3 but was a self-professed expert and not shy about bragging about that. He took the panels off. At first he said that it may be a bad fuel pump. But then he was checking the electrical connections and discovered that there was corrosion on the wires. He quickly fixed that, splicing new connectors onto the wires, and put a new battery in. And the scooter started right up! He had the scooter put back together and was done in 45 minutes. I asked for an itemized receipt, which he wrote on the back of a business card: House Call $50 Battery $50 Labor $80 Total $180 I guess tax is included, or perhaps this was done under the table. Anyway, initially, I was glad to have a working scooter! They left and I decided to take the scooter 8 miles up to the Pompano Beach Costco. 5 miles into the trip, the scooter died and I could not restart it with the electrical start, or manually. This was basically the same problem that it had before. I rolled my scooter over to Walmart and parked it. I called Ron and he told me that he would text me the number for someone else who knew how to work on these Yamaha's. He said maybe it was the coil (whatever that is). He did offer to give me a ride home as he was close. That was nice. But then he just said "I'm sorry for your bad luck" and that was that. He texted me a number of Riva Motorsports. So while the corroded connectors were replaced, they weren't the main problem. Neither was the battery. I basically bought a new battery that I didn't need. The problem seems to be with keeping the battery charged. I am out $180 and in worse shape than when I began, because now my scooter is stranded in a Walmart parking lot. During the attempted repair, Ron mentioned that he hated working, and tried not to work more than 4 hours a day. In retrospect, why would you say that in front of someone you are charging $80/hr to fix their scooter? I make about $15/hr. and $180 represents about 14 hours of work for me. Lost in 45 minutes. What a terrible experience. By the way, there is another review site that give Captain Ron gleaming reviews. But you will notice a similarity in many of the reviews. Two of the reviews from "different people" mention putting Captain Ron on "speed dial". Many of these reviews, I believe, were written by the same person (probably by the Captain himself) and are not honest reviews. read more

When I reached half way to my house the scooter stop half way to my house and on top of that he charger me 150 dollar and with no scooter fix then he wouldn't pick up my phone calls after I told him it broke half way. I had problems with my used 49cc Peace Scooter since I bought it. I had a friend who fixes vehicles as a hobby take a look and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. He spent about an hour on it. I contacted Ron and he came over right away. Communication via text was excellent and very responsive. He was able to diagnose the issue in about 5 minutes and I was up and running shortly after that. Without Captain Ron, the scooter would have sat in the garage another 6 months! To update, Captain RON sent me a series of texts asking me to reconsider my review, then called me a cry baby and said it was my mistake to purchase a scooter from him because I was in need. 2 weeks later the same exact problem is occurring, this time I went back to my regular scooter mechanics and they told me the battery C.R. replaced was the wrong battery and resulted in more electric damage.
