Could just be a Dutch thing, but for travelers hoping to enjoy the end of their meal with a cup of black coffee, beware!

He spoke perfect English. I had the beef stew which came with the ubiquitous fries and a side salad. I have to say that the stew was not nearly as good as a review for another restaurant from two nights previous. The beef was chewy and a bit tough, as though it hadn't marinated long enough. And the stew itself lacked a full bodied flavor. The fries and salad were both exceplenty. Our dining companions had mussels and we tried some. They were succulent and delicious. This was accommodated by a delicious dark beer, Effective. We ended with a dessert of vanilla ice cream, avocat and whipped cream. Delightful. One of dining partners had a waffle with cream. We got to try one and it was delicious. Portions are substantial and they'll bring as many fries as you want.

Hubby and kids ordered the steak for 2. It was a bit overcooked as we ordered the medium rare. I took a bite and it was ok. I thought pretty pricey for what it was, but enough for hubby and kids. Came with large fries and a salad. Hubby had beer and I had tea. It was just Lipton tea and hot water. Staff was not really attentive at all.
