Shellie and her assistant were the photographer for my wedding on 11.18.2023. I was very excited to have her, as the venue highly recommended her, and the work I'd seen of hers seemed to fit mine and my husband's style very well. Photos were the most important part of the wedding for me, outside the ceremony, so we did not choose a cheap or ill recommended photographer. Pros: -She was on time, well dressed, and nice. -She was very open about the daily timelines, likely hood of certain photos, and how photos would turn out due to unexpected (yet very welcomed) rain. Her partner kept the guys going on their timeline, and overall, we were very happy with this. -She recommended a "photo song" so my husband and I could have a photo with every person at the wedding, which we were grateful for as we were not sure we would get them with everyone before this. -She ensured that the few specific poses I had wanted, she snapped. Cons: -just before she left, I asked how long photos would take. She informed me she would send me a few sneak peaks within a week or so, for Christmas cards, and photos would take 8-10 weeks to receive. -Sneak peaks never came, despite my having emailed (with no response) on 12.14.23 and again 12.23.23. -I emailed her on 2.1.24 and 2.27.24 and was informed both times they were finishing up October photos, and mine would be next. -I emailed again on 4.1.24 and 4.11.24, to which she did not reply until 4.15.24 to let me know I would have my gallery by the end of that week. -Photos did not take 8-10 weeks as she had told me, but instead took 27 weeks (just over 6 months) to arrive. -certain photos had been missed. IE: we kissed at the alter, and then again at the end of the aisle, and we have no photos of the kiss at the end of the aisle. -my husband had a rash the day of the wedding. We were told these would be edited to remove the red on his face, but this wasn't actually done. Overall, photos turned out lovely. However, with having paid just shy of $2,500, I do wish she had been truthful about her timeline for photos turn around. In the time we waited, I became pregnant, and made it through more than half my pregnancy, before I even saw the photos of the day I married my husband. To say I was disappointed in the timeline, and her lack of honesty about getting sneak peak photos to me prior to Christmas, and all photos on time in general, would be an understatement. read more

12 years later and still upset that she was the worst part of our wedding. Shellie was annoyed the entire time and left early. We have only five photos from our reception. You don't realize how important photographs are until you have none (of the reception) to share with your kids. read more

I do check my voice mail and missed calls and e-mail. Oh... did I tell you it's been over a month since I left my first message. I guess I should NOT have indicated in my message I was looking to purchase the smaller wedding package and maybe I am not worth a return phone call. We purchased a package from Shellie/Capture Photography that included engagement photo session as well as wedding day coverage. We LOVED our engagement photos and were able to use them for our save the dates. Working with Shellie was easy and fun. We got our photos back in a timely manner. Shellie checked in on us as the wedding day approached. She helped us put together a timeline and we knew exactly what to expect from her and what was our responsibility to do. Wedding day she and the second shooter arrived early and got started right away documenting our big day. Throughout the day she was vocal about where/how we wanted us but we never felt rushed or pushed. During the reception, they blended in and felt like they weren't even there. We already got our sneak photos back soon after the wedding and they were amazing!! We got our wedding photos back and we love them so much! Our venue was difficult with lighting but they did an amazing job. The lighting on our family portraits didn't come out as well as the rest but we still love it. Shellie and her team are incredible. When we first got engaged, I knew from seeing photos she did of a friend's wedding that she was the photographer we wanted. I even emailed her the day we got engaged, knowing our wedding was still nearly 2 years out. I wanted to be sure to book her! Shellie listed to every bit of our story and really wanted to bring that into our photos, which is how we chose our engagement session location: The park we fell in love and became engaged at. As the wedding approached, she made sure to collect all details and to provide all the info we could possibly need to capture the photos we wanted. On our wedding day, she arrived early and got to work! Through the day she was almost invisible, but somehow was around for all the important moments. I picked Shellie Kennedy to be my photographer for my wedding that is coming up after seeing the amazing engagement pictures she took of my friends. My fiance and I were impressed by her creative view as well as the rustic filters and editing she did to photos. Shellie welcomed us into her beautiful home, that she uses as a studio as well, to meet with us and discuss options for for our wedding. She was very professional yet comforting and welcoming the entire time. We picked our package and scheduled a date for our engagement shoot. When that day came, Shellie had already visited the site that I chose to shoot at and had a ton of plans and ideas. I was very nervous for the photo session because I am not a huge fan of getting my picture taken. It was only about 30 seconds before Shellie calmed those fears and made me feel at ease. She made us feel very comfortable in our skin which was very important because it will showed in our pictures. Our engagement shoot was one of the best times that I have shared with my husband to be because of Shellie and her guidance and suggestions. The pictures came out amazing and I will forever remember that day. I am now just looking forward to the next big day with her... Our wedding!! Shellie has also been very helpful with emails, Save-the-date cards and preparation for the actual wedding. Shellie and her assistant shot my wedding back in November. AMAZING. I really wish I did engagement photos now. I chose the package that did not include engagement photos. Don't do this! You will later regret it! Anyway, Shellie was very nice to work with. This review has been a long time coming, and I've been meaning to sit down and write it, but time seems to fly by even after the wedding! Words can't begin to describe the amazing job that Shellie and her staff did at our wedding. My wife being a photographer, I was apprehensive that it would be really difficult to find someone that would meet her standards; after all she did look up around 50 different photographers in the area. From the very first meeting that we had with Shellie, we knew that she was the right photographer for us. To be quite honest, it was like two good friends were sitting down talking about their photography, projects, and endeavors, while I sat quietly thinking to myself "...yes! Cha-Ching! Photog powers - activate!" When they did get around to talking about our wedding, Shellie was on board with our vision and also worked with us to provide her unique input for different scenarios. Shellie took our engagement pictures as well as photographed the wedding. During the engagement shoot, she was game for taking some awesome artsy pictures, and so were we! Two of our favorite pictures from the shoot came out looking more like fashion photography and are hanging in our living room. The whole shoot was like hanging out with a good friend that was taking our pictures, comfortable and fun! The wedding day was a complete whirlwind at times, but Shellie and her staff were always at the right place and time. She kept me and the groomsmen on time, when we were suddenly running late. A moment I'll never forget is her coming up to me and handing me the tie clip my wife had made for me with my initials, making sure that I didn't lose it. That is probably one of the best signs of a wedding photographer; they notice everything and make sure their bride and groom look great, and yet are so good at their job that it is like they aren't even there. Also, the pictures she took were AMAZING! She truly captured our special day from start to finish, and the pictures were everything we were hoping for. So a year and a half after my wedding, I'm writing this review because of two things. 1) Every day that I walk by an engagement picture or wedding picture, I am reminded of how awesome the day was and how Shellie did an incredible job. 2) We were so happy with the job she did that we are now looking forward to having her shoot our maternity pictures in the coming months! Shellie was just awesome! We hired her and her team for our wedding day and she did such a wonderful job! The day of, she arrived early and was a calming presence. She helped keep us on schedule and was fun and professional throughout the process, both in the planning process and the day of the wedding. She even helped bustle my dress and pick debris out of the skirt since my dress was a soft tulle in an outdoor wedding, picking up all the dirt and bark as I walked, (I would not recommend soft tulle for an outdoor wedding lol). She delivered the photos in a timely manner, and within the quoted time, and they are absolutely lovely! I am very happy we hired her for our photographer; she was wonderful! read more

I can't even begin to describe just how amazing Shellie and her crew are. My husband I booked Shellie for our wedding after meeting with MANY other photographers. The moment we met Shellie, we knew we wanted to book her. We initially just booked Shellie for our engagement photos and for our wedding. By the time we got married, Shellie had done our engagement shoot, a boudoir photo shoot for me to give to my husband, designed our save the dates and our invitations, then designed our programs, table numbers, etc. to all match everything. Our whole wedding had a theme and she stuck to it! We also ordered thank you cards with our favorite wedding pictures. This woman is a one stop shop for all of your wedding needs! I even ordered bridesmaid tank tops for my girls through her! We were MORE than satisfied with everything and it was so easy. Everyone commented at how our pictures and save the dates were the most beautiful they had ever seen. I now consider Shellie a friend and will miss working with her. Shellie Kennedy of capture photography was absolutely amazing, her photography style is so artistic and completely captured the love in every photo! She photographed our wedding back in May, and her and her 2 helpers were wonderful to work with. I wanted to do a few getting ready photos and wasn't sure how comfortable I would be, but the second Shellie started talking and helping me pose, I was completely comfortable. Even before the day came, a few weeks out she emailed a timeline and helped me organize and think about what portraits I want to have taken with family and guests. We also had Shellie and the team drive to 2 separate locations and they were such troopers and made it so fun. But seriously, not only was Shellie and her staff absolutely wonderful and professional, the photos are beyond what I could have pictured. We had the dream wedding and Shellie captured every aspect of it. My husband and I have so many favorites it's been hard to choose which ones we want to frame around the house. This is way overdue. My wife and I hired Shellie for our wedding July 2013. From our 1st meeting to the engagement shoot and the wedding she was AMAZING. She made my wife and I feel very comfortable and was very easy to work with. She was open to any ideas and was very adaptable. Even months after our wedding we received a little xmas gift from her. All I can say is that this awesome lady was meant to be my photographer. I was referred to her by a friend and at first she was not available on my wedding date. Then I went to the bridal expo and started talking to her and she said I really wish I could do your wedding. Her assistant then walked up and said actually we had a bride move her date so you are free. I was so excited to say the least! My fiance and I then had a meeting with her and left so happy and excited to have Shellie and her team on our list of vendors. We had decided that photography was our #1 thing on the list but still Shellie has worked within the means of our budget. She just recently took our engagement photos last month and we had so much fun. She took us into the wilderness where we braved rattlesnakes and all. Definitely funny moments. I am definitely a Type A personality and ask a million questions. Shellie is quick with her responses and is always willing to spell it all out for me. It's hard for me to express in words how much I appreciate and value this amazing woman and her team, but here it goes. I was referred to Shellie by a friend. My husband was not able to attend the consultation and because we are both fairly shy, I was worried about picking someone he wouldn't click with. Shellie immediately made me feel comfortable and I could tell she was as sweet as could be- her personality alone sealed the deal. I've now been photographed by Shellie as a bridesmaid and a bride and the experience was fun and amazing both times. She's talented, creative and easy.
