Reasonable prices, variety of fields, super friendly and helpful staff. Great for group of friends or colleagues

Our 14-year-old attended a birthday party here, which is 100+ acres of playing fields west of Waiparous, which is west of Cochrane. They provide everything you need to have a paintball party: safety equipment, lots of land to roam, places to hide, and free hot dogs. Based only on her feedback, we'd probably come back every weekend. She already is making plans for the summer and winter... Our initial observation as we drove up the dirt road into the site was that someone once owned a tire dump and instead of just setting it on fire they thought it would be amusing if they arranged the tires in clumps and city folk would pay for the privelege of running around them and shooting each other with paint guns. The location is really far away from Calgary, but you drive through some beautiful foothills on some winding roads and some lovely creeks. The kids spent 2 hours running around and 1 hour eating cupcakes, and were deliriously happy when we picked them up. Not sure if they have running water on site, so expect more campsite-style amenities, like portapotties, which is the only blemish. read more

This was my very first job when I was about 14-15 years old. Couldn't ask for a better place to work. Got to know a lot about all the equipment and the way the business was run. My parents moved out to waiparous when I was 5 so it was a perfect place to grow up and of course play and work at CTFO. Was good friends with the owners kids and a couple employees. Pretty much grew up together. Everything from cleaning guns, working and greeting customers at the counter to building courses. Everyone knows the courses "speed ball" when u first take the turn off the main road and head down the gravel road and see that pile of tires on your right hand side. All the 100+ acres it has to offer of different types courses. All the different guns you can choose from, paintball masks and camouflage chest protectors are also available for the lil guys and ladies as well as anyone else that wants one. It's a lil waise away from Calgary under an hr. but it's defenetly worth the drive and you can have a blast. They take every form of payment. All different ages come out to play. Everything from kids birthdays to bachelors/bachelorette and even big game tournaments, where the hard core guys come out to play. So if u ever you have some free time during any weekend (Saturdays are extremely busy) you should defenetly check it out, it's an amazing time and you will have a blast. So I went there with some friends today thinking about having a good time but instead I got crappy service. So the plug on my gun keeps falling off. So I went to the back and this scraggy, guy with a beard glares at me simply because I wanted to have it changed. He then said that if I pushed it in all the way I wouldn't have any problem but here's one anyways. If it was said without the glare and the tone I would have had no problem. But one, the plug was not put on by me as I was JUST given the gun. Two when it fell off I did put it in all the way but it still fell off again. It wasn't even a real plug like what's on other guns, it was a plastic screw (like the ones on cheap wine bottles). I simply didn't want to injure someone by accident so I was simply requesting a plug. It was a easy fixed and I did not deserved to be treated this way. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANTED TO BE TREATED LIKE CRAP. read more

We went out here last weekend for my nephews birthday party and had an absolute blast despite the cold weather! Once you arrive you head inside to the change up area and get all geared up in camo suits which thank gosh were insulated, chest protectors and goggles. You then pick out what package you'd like and once all ready to go they take you through an orientation on the rules and how to operate the gun. The moms in the group really appreciated how they were very thorough and really stressed safety in the orientation as the kids were 10 and 11 years old. They then sign you up for a course(there is 20+ to choose from) and you are off playing with your own group. When I've been paintballing in the past at other fields they often make you play with other groups which is a total drag so this was great. Between each game you come back to the central area where there is an unlimited hot dog BBQ and crystal drinks which the kids loved. We played 4 or 5 games over the next 4 hours and had a riot. I was really hesitant to go with it being a high of -15 but found that once you get running around i was actually shedding clothing between games.
