Gerhard lives on the other side of Frankfurt but he wanted to take us to Weinhaus Mehling because he loves it so much. Now we know why. I had the Zeibelkuchen mit Kaese Ueberbacken which was amazing!! If I had room in my stomach, I would have eaten three of them. All three of us had the Coburger Rostbratwuersten hit Brot un Senf, and I also had the Meerrettich. Sooooo delicious (although the Meerrettich was not as scharf as I like -- I like fire in my mouth)!!! The restaurant is charming, a short and beautiful walk from a large parking area. The waitstaff is friendly and very competent. They even had a menu in English for my husband! This restaurant is definitely worth the lovely drive from Frankfurt. At the end of their menu, it states "Wir wuenschen einen guten Appetit." At Weinhaus Mehling, that wish is granted.

I think the other reviews by Americans are a bit harsh as we aren't in the US and therefore, I don't think you can compare it to places you have been to in the US. I liked the sauces on the burger and the seasoning of the meat. The onion rings and chili cheese fries were also good. The decorations and ambiance were nice and the other people in my group liked the cocktail selections they had. Overall, I thought this place was really nice and the prices were reasonable (8€ for a burger is totally reasonable...as five guys charges the same for a burger in the US and is fast food). I will be back.
