We didn't anticipate much on visiting the brewery, but we were delighted. It's a funny old world, isn't it? The building isn't much to look at, but once you're inside it's cosy and warm, lots of wood and big tables and a nice welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied, not just meat or meat, but there is meat. Hubby had the Haxe (see photo) and it was the best he's had in Germany. I had something lighter, black pasta with a seafood sauce, and it was really nice, freshly prepared, creamy sauce, and not overcooked, or over salted. Hubby's beer was a dark, toffee flavoured Shwarzbier, but I restricted myself to alcohol free, so not much to write about that. The service was fine, our meals arrived together. The only downside was the puddings. But then that's often the case in Germany, they just don't do good pud.

They have a large outdoor beer garden and a small interior with about 4-5 tables. I ordered a flight to sample all of their beers. Came with their helles, a california ale, the frankfurt pale ale, bread beer and saline bitter. The bread beer was delicious and my favorite of the bunch. Light with a nice malty sweetness, the taste has undertones of cinnamon and christmas spices. I liked it so much I took home a growler (9 euro including 3 euro bottle deposit). I would definitely come again! Excited to try seasonal offerings once winter hits.

When I parked at the parking lot I had to register my license plate number and I paid for the full day. There was no option for an hour rate. There was a sign also that stated that parking all day is 3 euro. I paid the three euro and then a week later I got a parking ticket stating that the amount paid wasn't righ. This is stupid as hell because when you leave the parking lot you have to register again so that you pay the right amount. This didn't make sense because there was a sign that said 3 euro all day parking which I did paid. Also the letter didn't state how long I was there and how much I already paid. They want me to pay 45 euro for the fine. I would recommend that you don't park there or complain if you are being scammed or have been scammed. Also the parking is run by a private company which made this experience a bad one. I would recommend that Kreuzberg find another company to do business because this makes the Kreuzberg Monastery look bad and they will be getting more negative reviews.

Make sure you get some euro out, too. Once there, you park down the hill from the monastery (1.50 euro) and walk up. Secure a nice table and then make your way to the drinks booth and orders as much beer as you want (remember you are also paying for the deposit, if you want it back return the mugs and/or bottles). But if you are going to make a meal of it, grab a tray then head to the register and order your food. The menu are on the walls, but also online. Anything pork or sausage is great. If you aren't too hungry, get some bread, butter, and cheese and enjoy the beer. Roast pork is great so if you are hungry check it out! Sit inside if its cold or rainy, but beware its packed and you'll have to fight to just share a table. If its nice, go outside, the atmosphere is very pleasant, plus it won't be so loud. They offer tours and they have a gift shop inside. But if anything just have a beer, it won't dissapoint.
