Moved into new house, went to unroll a wool kazak rug and discovered moths. Called Caravan and got a price for cleaning and told them I had moths. I asked if I should get my pest service to treat it because it would be covered under my contract. He said no, moths are killed when he washes the rug. Take the rug in, unroll it, he sees moths, measures it and gives me a price. Leave store and he calls in an hour and says he needs to charge for a special powder to treat moths. I complain about the charge, and he tells me of I'm not happy to pick it up. I can't get back out to pick it up so I tell him to go ahead. Pick up the rug and when I get it home it has not been properly washed. It appears they just ran a steamer over the carpet. I call back and ask for a refund so I can have it properly cleaned. He says no, I can bring it back and he can reclean it. No way he's touching my rug. Rug is stored for over a year, rolled up in my LVP floored bonus room. I rearranged the room, prepare to unroll the rug and am surprised to see carpet moths flying about. Major damage has been done to my expensive wool rug. Excellent job! I have had my Chinese cut carpet cleaned by regular steaming process, but since they won't extract the water from these kinds of rugs, it was never satisfactory. I finally decided to send it out to be done correctly. I have had a house full of people on this carpet for 29 years and it has never looked as good as this. They advised me to trim the fringe which was old and raggedy and it also looks awesome. With the new pad, it is like a brand new rug. If you have an oriental rug, you might want to use another cleaning service that is experienced enough not to run/bleed the colors all over the rug and fringe. As previously stated in another review; the owner Jason is difficult to work, defensive and will gaslight you when you challenge the quality of the services delivered. I had a very expensive oriental rug cleaned by Caravan Rugs Cleaning. I expressed hesitancy to Jason about having it cleaned because it was in exceptional condition but for the fact that it had been in storage as result of our inter-state relocation. Jason assured me they could do a good job. AT NO TIME DID HE EVER DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF THE COLORS RUNNING/BLEEDING. Once he cleaned the rug and the colors bleed into my off-white fringe then he called and said what happened in a nonchalant manner. When I expressed my displeasure he was dismissive and defensive. Bottom line this company DOES NOT have experience or expertise to clean oriental rugs without damaging them. For $350.00 cleaning fee, you can find more courteous rug cleaning services who will test to see if the colors bleed before cleaning the rugs. Unlike Jason, they would even apologize that they did not meet you expectations and acknowledge that they are returning a rug with a fringe that has been damaged as a result of their service. Jason is not competent to clean an oriental rug - just look at the pink color throughout the fringe and the photos don't capture the fullness of the damage. I post this review so you don't regret your decision to use Caravan Rugs Cleaning as much as I do. I will use Phoenix Cleaning Solutions in the future; they are courteous and did an excellent job on my upholstery cleaning. They actually spot check for bleeding before cleaning rugs. read more

We have just had three carpets, cleaned by Caravan, and are totally pleased with the results. Upon close checking of one carpet, we found a small area (approximately 1.5") near the binding that that appeared to be some sort of dried glue or some other substance. We contacted them explaining our findings. The next morning the owner (Jason) came out and remedied the issue. Also, the two gentlemen that picked up and delivered the carpets were very pleasant and friendly. I cannot give Caravan Rugs even one star but had to in order to post. Please see photo which says it all (left is before, right is after). Upon questioning the cleaning results of my rug, and further doing my own research, I learned that Caravan Rugs does not have a complete cleaning system. Their website reveals this - no wash tub. A wash tub is a necessary component for effective cleaning. The hand cleaning does not cut it - literally! Upon my first contact with the owner, Jason, I was told he would send me a refund check for the full $500 I paid for the cleaning. I took him for his word. Two weeks later, I followed up with him, was told no such refund would be coming. He asked to see the rug and for the opportunity to reclean. I told him the rug was at a local competitor's and though the photo spoke for itself, he was welcome to visit Pettyjohn's for his personal viewing. I told him the trust was gone and without the proper equipment, there was nothing further that his company could do. As a consumer, it is always nice to deal with someone who listens well and is respectful. This was not my experience with Jason. I was hoping to take this to small claims court to get my money back but have learned that the $500 I paid and have asked for, is under the required claim amount. My rug will never be the same. My advice is to do your own research and proceed with caution. I certainly wish I had! read more

We recently contacted Caravan Rugs to have a 20 year old rug cleaned. I am not sure where it was made, perhaps India, Turkey or Afganistan. Over the years, the fringe got worn and had unraveled in some places. We were not sure what to do to maintain the quality of the rug. Jason, the owner, suggested a process that involved cutting off the old fringe and restoring it using existing fibers at the rug's edge. We were unsure how this would turn out, but we agreed to go ahead. The result is wonderful. We could not be more happy with our rug, which looks new again. My dog had an accident on my expensive Ethan Allen rug and I tried several times to get it out. It was such a awful yellow stain. I looked online for a rug cleaning company and spoke with several different ones. I then talked to Jason at Caravan Rugs and he told me he thought he could get it out. I recently had my carpets cleaned as part of maintenance we do every 6 months. I had always used Zerorez but they sort of did a basic job. Heard about Jason with Caravan Rugs Carpet Cleaning from my brother who had just had his done and decided to give it a whirl. Jason scheduled to come out very quickly. He was super friendly and extremely professional. He explained everything he was doing prior to doing so, and then after cleaning the master bedroom, he had me come in and take a look before he kept going. Not only did my carpets look brand-spanking new but it smelled pleasant/not chemical like but a fresh citrus scent. He cleaned all of the rooms and the landing and stairwell. He did a fabulous job as the stairs had a worn look and now look new and fresh. Jason gave us tips for removing stains and how to and not to treat spills, pet stains, etc to protect our carpets. This was outstanding service and deserves all 5 stars however you do get what you pay for. This was one of the most expensive carpet cleanings we have ever had but I was thrilled with the outcome and per Jason, it may be that we do not have to have them cleaned every 6 months with this treatment, it may go for as long as a year which would even out what I was paying before anyway. :) read more

My dog was a gem and threw up all over my carpet and left a trail from my master all the way down my stairs. Despite my best efforts (I was an IICRC certified carpet cleaner in the past so I know what I'm doing) I was unable to get it out all the way. They came in and had my carpet back to looking new within an hour and half. I also have used them on a large area rug that my cats also apparently hated and they did a great job. Caravan is the company my old apartment manager used to come clean my carpets. They always did a thorough job, but I didn't feel like the staff was as friendly or respectful as they should be considering they are entering into my home. However, they did fast work, and always got all of the stains out of my carpet. I don't know anything about price because they were under contract with my apartment, but I'm guessing they gave good contract pricing because my old property management company was cheap! read more
