I came across the National Hotel when I took my grandmother out for a meal one Sunday. She…read moresuggested it, and I'm glad that she did. It was easy to park, as there is a car park behind the hotel, and it was easy to get in and to find a seat. They have a dining area, as well as the bar for bar meals. The decor is alright, nothing fancy, but it is clean and well kept.
The staff are lovely, very nice, and chirpy. Will chat away with no problems. The portions of the meals you receive is a fair size, value for money, and are delicious. All the produce is local. I never normally take haggis when i'm out, but boy there haggis was out of this world, with a beautiful whiskey sauce. I loved it.
The National Hotel is very popular and has many functions here, from weddings, birthday and engagement parties, to funeral teas. The service is outstanding, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
